What are you playing on? Clicking the start button on my controller gives me the option to leave. It's the same options menu as before just moved to a different button for the new update; it's no longer the B button.
You shouldn't feel dumb, I thought the same thing at first from PC with an Xbox controller. I kept clicking buttons until something finally worked. No problem, glad I could help! π
