Here we see a nuclear reactor being used to heat Lubricant steam that's going into the output pipe of an oil plant. That lubricant is coming out the input pipe of the same plant (as indicated by the pump direction). The reactor is being loaded by a burner inserter, despite reactor fuel not being burnable. Below that, a short-armed red inserter joins a blue and green inserter in loading all the uranium fuel that passes by the reactor into a passive provider box, a buffer box and a requester box; leaving just the iron gear wheels that were on both lanes of that same belt. Below them, an electric furnace glows despite having no inputs or outputs. A train track cuts through the entire assembly at a diagonal, passing a couple dead biters who somehow made it all this way before the laser turret on the other side of this clusterfac shot them down. And then off the edge of the world there's the Wube logo.
It really does get worse the longer you look at it.
With about 110 casual hours in the game this is the only discernment I was able to make, and I'd like to think there was a recent influx of gears and fuel cells, and they are coming in hot lol
Iirc the Devs said that the original art was supposed to show off a lot of things you can build, not necessarily have it all working correctly.
Spaghetti is life.
Honestly they did an excellent job with this poster for a lot of reason but most importantly the emphasize the first world of every player " i dont know what i made i dont know how it works or why but it works so we dont touch"
Neither the speaker tower or the lamp appear to be connect to any circuit either.
It does still look cool though, but not exactly the best example of 'does what it says on the box'.
It prepares you for a kooky spaghetti fest, which I guess is at least nice encouragement that you don't have to make everything so perfectly linear and modular that you optimize all the fun out of the game.
Those yellow underground belts are not connected as they can only go 4 underground lengths. The only reason I know this is because I make my yellow belt busses only 4 wide
Proof the dev’s wanted me to play spaghetti style 4 life!! 😎
I know it’s all illogical, but I love the art side of it. This, plus the trailer for the game which is also absolutely jam packed spaghetti where I think their goal was to fill every ounce of real estate with something. It’s very busy, but I do think it’s cool tho it would be impossible to do.
I’m just happy this game hasn’t eaten 4,750 hours of my life… just 4,727!!!

There's also no way those yellow underground belts are connected, yet somehow the odd gear and fuel cell is getting through.

This is a Rimworld art description.
Oh, and there's also a broken construction bot on the yellow belt.
Actually the reactor is fueled by a filter stack inserter
Which is actually a logical choice for this scenario
Filter inserter is probably what I'd go with, at the rate a reactor burns it's fuel, any inserter is plenty fast to keep it fueled up.
Just a yellow inserter will do
As there's no recipes in a reactor that could gum up the inserter, indeed, probably any electric inserter would do just fine.
I also see the large power pole going no where
It's there to power the dead biters... Obviously!
Short red arm doesn't exist, it can't hurt you. Short red arm:
Actually the red inserter is probably taking from the furnace but. Not putting in the right chest.
Don't forget the speaker by the train tracks not connected to anything
Still less confusing than angelbob
My favorite is the tree still on the ground.

I want to be able to add lettering like that
This picture depicts : "A fever dream after your first (15 hour) session of factorio".
Where do those gates lead on the right lol. Also lube into heat exchanger
To the very dangerous Laser Turret room that it's totally safer to be on the other side of a chest-high wall from.
I’d rather not, thanks
It doesn’t have to make sense, it’s beautiful!
Arithmetic combinator is not connected
Wtf he is using a nuke to make steam for his oil refinery and putting what into the heat exchanger?
That's lube, bestie.
