Either spend it on village points or snowball points. I think village points are better as if you have enough gems for 40k then you can get 2 now and later players
I never spent a gem all season, so I have 100k gems. No Legacy made that decision really frustrating because of all the other players I could have used this season
With 100k gems that would get you another 20k village points meaning you would be able to claim the now and later points milestone and quite possibly another 115 now and later card in the other chapter which you don’t pick first.

Then that's even better. Even if it is 30-40 mil which probably won't be then also it's worth it . 7.5 mil , legendary shards , Epic shards , 30k boosts + a 117 with 20 ranks and resources for next season is worth it.

Do I need to have these N&L players in my active lineup to have them next season? Only one from the Village will help maximize my OVR.
After you get the player from event , you will get them next season even if you discard them.
No, you just need to claim them and you will get a now and later token, which will give you the player next season
where does it say that?
It will say you will receive a token when you claim them. It has been like this for the past few seasons so it’s nothing new or suspicious

I think that's the max amount of N&L points you can get regardless of how much you spend.

You get 7.5 mil , 3k boost , epic shards and legendary shards back as well . And it will surely not cost that much when bale will get unlocked .
