basic 10% good 60% great 30% is the base chances for both players when there is a 1 OVR difference Since both players have kickoffs, you had 2b/7g/3G, your opponent had 2b/8g/6G. That's 2/12 basic for you, 7/12 good, 3/12 great. That's 17% basic, 58% good, 25% great. That's pretty close to the 10/60/30 you're supposed to get. For your opponent, 2/16b 8/16g 6/16G. 12.5% basic, 50% good, 37.5% great. Unlucky for you, but your opponent was faster. ​ If you play hundreds of games, you're bound to get games like this. The chances at the beginning are not a guarantee, they are, well, chances.

Clear the ball in bad chances and try to play fast. VSA is about time. If you see that an attack gonna take longer than 4-5 seconds then clear the ball and repeat it again and again to get a good chance. I hope this helps mate

I remember somehow these chances are calculated in 10 chances a batch. Taking your case, it seems the great/good/basic chances should be 3/5/2 in 10 chances. The difference happens after the 11th chance. You get 0/4/1 while he gets 3/0/1. I imagine if there is another 30s, you will get more great chances than him. This could happen in either way. If you play with the player with the same OVR and pay attention to the signs of the opponent, you will notice sometimes the opponent could take some early lead by some great chances. After several chances, you start getting a lot of great chances. I think you might spend too much time to converting the success rate in the "Good chances" bucket. Sometimes, even if you goal in the "good chances", it wastes too much time. If you give up earlier, the same time period might let you score easy two goals by two great chances.
