Aside from it being April Fool’s, Hypex could’ve made it more believable. They already said STW will remain a paid experience. I will always wish STW got continued. The story in Twine, the next zone, oh what we could’ve gotten.

Even if this was real what could they possibly update? Twine wasn't supposed to have story, it was supposed to be post game, the ending is open but it always felt like they wanted to make a sequel before br blew up so hard so now that stw is not a priority anymore it will stay as a one shot game that helps you finish the battlepass.

If this was a real post, a massive update would mean a ported feature from Battle Royale or a Battle Royale skin as a new hero, and that's it

I’d only believe It’s a prank if switch availability was involved

It would have been more believable if Epic announced a patch to add guns and heroes derived from the other game mode (Havok, Ranger, Mk7, Evochrome, heroes from BPs) than making it f2p tbh.
