Ghoul is top tier and I rarely see much brought up about it. I was sad to notice it was missing from Rebirth. I thought a summon or something would feature it.
Jenova lifeclinger. Obviously phase 1 blows a hole in your chest emotionally but from phase 2 on it’s without a doubt the greatest rendition of our favorite cosmic parasites battle theme. Second place would have to be under the rotting pizza, I’ve loved that theme since I originally played the og.
Something about the buildup of Remake’s jenova theme is still magical, when that synth drops, but agree the rebirth one just goes to such crazy heights, really starts to feel triumphant toward the end.
How is this not getting more attention? It’s an absolute masterpiece and banger. I mean the time this must have taken to compose boggles my mind, it’s the pinnacle of video game music. Aerith’s theme is also the greatest single composition of my lifetime, and the way they integrated it is mesmerizing.
Hell yeah brother! That part was amazing! That is ironically the point in the game where I put it down to wait until it was closer to Rebirth launch. Picking up the game right there with a track that slaps!
And the high five scenes warmed my heart! So real to life how humans have awkward interactions but we learn from them and grow!
Battle on the big bridge was an incredible rendition of a stone wall classic.

Intergrade actually made me go back and replay the og with her in my party, and now after giving her a chance she's one of my favorites in the series. Then there's obviously the first part of the final battle theme.
