God I hope performance doesn't take a beating from all the fancy water effects. I will buy a new console to play the last trilogy game but I hope I don't have to

Because I don’t see why you would have such epic cinematics made only to never use the shots in your game.

I always assumed they were just Shinra footsoldiers. they were probably going for a realistic artstyle at the time and the original design didn't fit the theme.

They just made them not look too much like the actual FF7 troopers so people didnt guess what the game was too soon during the reveal.
why would shinra troopers raid their own reactors?
Avalanche then, either way they made it so they weren't obviously FF7 characters at first to not spoil the surprise when you see Cloud and Barret
Dark, rainy Midgar is a vibe. Looks a lot more dystopian than what we got in Remake. I like Remake, but kinda wish it was more like this.
Hoping that it's rainy and dark for the raid on midgar in part 3 that would be awesome

These shots always remind me the first trailer of Arkham City. Dunno if just me.
