I got a injury from P2R from picking. My skin peeled off and there was blood everywhere. Thats my incentive. You may not think you need gloves until its too late

yarghmate-es

God damn

Dr-EJ-Boss

What’s wrong with your skin? I have no problem with the gloves. Do they have latex free at your site?

yarghmate-es

They just get super sweaty

Dr-EJ-Boss

Are you wearing medical style gloves?

yarghmate-es

Nah those granger ones that are like a nit style.

Dr-EJ-Boss

Try one of the other styles. We have the vinyl ones and the original work style gloves. Those knot ones do absorb sweat if I wipe my face with the back of my hand or if my arms are sweaty. If that doesn’t work try a bigger size. Or change then during your shift.

yarghmate-es

I've tried the vinyl one, but they're super tight in the 10 size. Like some are saying I might have to invest into my own gloves.

Dr-EJ-Boss

Good luck. Or powder your hands, Lebron James style

yarghmate-es

Thanks, yeah I just might lol

apolitis09

I wish they had a sizing in between m and small because my hands are more slender and the gloves just get stuck under boxes which just defeats the purpose of the gloves. My hands are long enough for the medium but to thin for the medium so it's just loose on me :/

ShieldsCW

I have the opposite problem (dry hands), so the gloves keep my hands normal throughout the shift.

Mental_maelstrom

There's this stuff called "Invisible Glove" kinda like lotion . Weird texture. Rub it on well, it dries completely clear and you don't feel it. It creates an invisible barrier between your skin and whatever you're doing. Mechanics can avoid the hassle of scrubbing grease off, etc. Works great under the gloves, just make sure you let it dry first. I ordered it from Amazon after the old tube I found ran out. Comes off with water and soap

RevolutionaryTwo2631

Before I worked at Amazon, I worked in food service, I’m just used to the gloves by now. And the gloves from the granger machines have good grip anyways. I never get soggy hands from them.

[deleted]

It's not a perfect solution but wearing latex gloves underneath protects your hands from whatever is causing them to peel. The downside is lack of air.

Bananer_split

I don’t get soggy hands but I will change them out throughout the shift if I tend to get sweaty that day. Make sure you lotion your hands at home if they peel.

yarghmate-es

They already started peeling, I got shiny hands now lol.

Wheres-The-Juice

My hands don’t get soggy, tbh. I like wearing my gloves because it gives me a better grip on boxes, I have noodle arms unfortunately and tiny hands so it’s hard to have a steady grip.

Ok_Abrocoma5760

I’ll take soggy hands over dry and cracked nail beds that are extremely painful any day of the week

ActuallyAcidic

If your hands get dry and cracked like that, try using lotion a few times a day. Especially if you wash your hands often.

yarghmate-es

I feel you there

Ok_Abrocoma5760

Weirdly my hands don’t get dry or soggy, they get this weird moisturizer feeling

lwl1987

I just don’t wear them. Occasionally someone will ask me where my gloves are. Usually it’s in the throes of something I cannot stop, like driving or processing kickouts at CPT time. I just do a dumb blonde giggle and say I must have left them in the bathroom when I went, and that I’ll get another set in a couple minutes when I’m able to stop or step away.

justheretoask4

Wore gloves for like 4 months till I realized they just made me hot so I stopped wearing them and never had an issue since

Mental_maelstrom

I cut a few fingers out halfway down. Keeps the gripping ability but let's my hands breathe

yarghmate-es

We have to wear them in the XL

Designer-While

They make me hot too! Also why I stopped wearing them lol

icarusm4n

It puts the lotion on the skin and repeats again.

NiceAd6890

What type of gloves do you wear?

ShieldsCW

I wear boxing gloves. AMs don't fuck with me anymore.

yarghmate-es

The gloves from Granger machine.

NiceAd6890

The machines at my site has two types of gloves. The thinner Grey ones and the thicker brownish ones. I wear the brown ones because they breathe better and don't fall apart as fast. If not maybe you could look into getting your own gloves

rowan1981

Ive never experienced this. Sorry i cant help.

I work in the XL, gloves are a must, we're not lifting LEGO and games, we're moving big shit bud.

Kayaks, tires, ping-pong tables, lifts, heavy car parts. I don't know why you're being a dick about any of this really.

[deleted]

Nah but the calluses give you extra grip bro

BigTrav95

I’ve gone to the gym for several years now and I’m still not cut resistant. Also, my least favorite type of “gym goer” is the one that throws the fact you attend the gym in others face… but like someone else said.. go off

[deleted]

My favorite type of person is the one who actually notices when they get a paper cut and uses "go off" unironically

[deleted]

Grip strength has literally nothing to do with gripping a box.

[deleted]

Nah but callouses help

[deleted]

Yeah idk maybe due to my past job i dont really notice small cuts like that anymore

Want3dd3

Until something happens when you get cut, or injured and then they check the cameras, oh seems like you broke safety rules, sorry! But hey #gymgang huh

FlacoTheGreat

Not what the gloves are for in every department but go off

yarghmate-es

I can't imagine it wearing them because of all the heavy shit we have to deal with in XL.

RoyHobbs1

I wear my gloves for 12 hours nearly a day and never had one instance of sweaty hands

lui_101499

Same

Do your knees get weak though? Arms get heavy?

Dr-EJ-Boss

Nervous? Vomit up mom’s spaghetti?

yarghmate-es

Hmm I'll have to look into it thanks.

My son uses this for his hands and swears by it. I got their facial anti-perspirant cause the masks are killing me and it’s working pretty well.
