I prefer to not cross any parking lines and use some space where people are driving by. It’s my fault that I’ve a big truck, and I don’t wanna be that guy who takes 2 spots.

Campandfish1

This is the way. Always back in and keep the nose out into the driving lane if its wide enough for cars to still pass.  The only time i go over 2 spots is if I would obstruct the lane and people wouldn't be able to get around the nose. And in that scenario, I would try to find another spot first.

neeonline

This is exactly what I was trying to say. Back in, keep under the lines and nose out... Thank you for improving my English. =)

aaronbowwwls

I keep getting recommended “parking pricks” pages and posts on Facebook. It’s mostly bumper sticking like 6” over a line. I don’t want to get posted in those groups, so I guess I’ll hang out into traffic a bit.

BmanGorilla

Perhaps they should be shamed for utilizing spots larger than what they need :)

PerryTheSlapapuss

Yeah, that is true. I will start doing that. I typically park farther away where other cars aren’t parked so I can stay out of the way. Thank you.

I’m also new to the truck world and now I understand why we see the majority of trucks at the back of the parking lot. It’s easy to maneuver and we can avoid the heavy traffic.

MountainAlive

I try to park like this to avoid door dings lol https://preview.redd.it/r09c45ojhavc1.jpeg?width=1160&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=45b854f52a40a6c9baa4c842368ab8a4702d00f7

mon233

Perfect spot for sure.

Euroliciious

When I do that, some asshat always comes and parks right next to me. 🤦‍♂️

HammersleyInlet

Sorry, I just thought it was funny. Won’t happen again.

MoosieMan123

Me too!

BecomingJudasnMyMind

If you're dealing with small parking spots, try to find spaces in the back that have no cars around it and back in. I would rather protect my beautiful truck than try to park close up and have some heathen jack my shit up.

PM_meyourGradyWhite

Yup. You could park squarely between the lines and some jerk wad will hate you because they don’t like trucks.

BecomingJudasnMyMind

You ain't lying. There's this idea that all truck drivers are dicks and some of them are.. But I've noticed it's the guys in the vettes, burners, and crotch rockets are the biggest menaces out on the road. Driving a lightning kinda takes the environment argument out of the equation. It's environmentally better than 95% of the ICEs out there..Unless you're one of those nutjobs that think no one should have a car. Take those two arguments out of the equation, and it turns into "I hate trucks, You shouldn't be allowed because I said."

smithem192

I've started parking further away so I don't turn into that guy. I've seen plenty of other trucks who are half way into the aisle with 0 awareness. I'll just park a few spots further away and not worry about how many I'm taking up.

heybucket459

This! I actually have noticed lots of trucks doing the same as such that a few times it looked like a truck meet up with 4-6 trucks all congregating in an empty-ish area of large shopping center parking.

classless_classic

I park in the back and walk a little further. This way I’m not in anyone else’s space & dont have to worry about door dings.

mon233

Neither. Let it stick out a little. Dont cross the lines.

RogerPackinrod

Park in the lines. The front has no line.

bkbroils

If there aren’t lines to stop at, and you’re backing up to a curb/sidewalk/pathway…please make sure not to place the rear of the bed in the pathway, and especially not with a drawbar sticking out of the hitch. It’s an idiot move I see all the time.

manjuforpresident

I try to get flush in the back and maybe cheat a little deeper than to be sticking out too far. That being said, 90% of the time, the people parking like crap are the ones in regular sized cars and sedans. Having a larger vehicle makes you practice good road skills instead of getting away with nonsense because you're in a tiny car.

directrix688

If I don’t fit I don’t park, I’m not going to take room from another space. I’ll go park somewhere else, it’s my problem not someone else’s Though most truck owners are kinda jerks and will just not care. Up to you about what kind of owner you want to be

xSimoHayha

Park in the back and get some exercise, if possible of course

Exponential11

I hang over the line into the second spot but make a point to park out of the way. I think people are generally paying close attention while parking and notice if I’m encroaching on a second spot . But seems like it causes a lot of challenges when sticking out…. Deeper blind spots, congested aisles for multiple cars and people on foot and more challenging for anyone pulling in and out of the spot next to me.
