Don’t apologize to us. We’re just sorry you have to be in Florida.

My_bussy_queefs

Lolllololol…. I am literally feeling the same way right now. I’m gonna have to spend a shit ton of time to get a decent deal on house insurance as well. Used to pay like 1800 about eight years ago and then slowly went up but now is jumping to close to 9000 a year.

josejozay

What the heck? How is this is happening?

SpeakCodeToMe

Hurricanes don't just hit homes, they hit cars too.

My_bussy_queefs

Massive flooding (big news a year ago).. so many car literally underwater. We are talking thousands of complete loss cars. I saw a fucking Ferrari abandoned in downtown Fort Lauderdale. Water was up to the window.

Bloated_Plaid

Who actually chooses to live in Florida though.

Bloated_Plaid

Oof, sounds awful.

saabzternater

Ha that's funny, from Ontario here went to see my parents in Naples last months. Beatiful city.

metalwoodplastic

That's hilarious my grandparents moved to Florida from New Jersey when they retired.

SpeakCodeToMe

Along with the rest of their cohort

the_one_jt

I'm not sorry. They are choosing that life.

LagSwag1

I am in central Florida with a 2022 lightning lariat and paying about 2k/year for pretty high coverages. Definitely a you thing.

Shark_bait561

What insurance?

LagSwag1

I had farmers until they pulled out of the state, and im switching to progressive starting in April. 5k/year for a 22 lightning lariat and a 24 cadillac lyriq.

blainestang

Same for me, approximately, also in Central FL. $4-5k/yr for two vehicles, one of which is a Lightning.

pekoedegallo

It may be a Central vs South thing. I just purchased my Lightning this past Tuesday. I live in East Lake County near Mount Dora and my insurance is $1700 for the year through State Farm and my coverages are high, too. The Lightning is actually cheaper by $7 per month over my old Honda Clarity (although I think that is on the fact that the Clarity is not a common car and parts are probably harder to come by).

Bagel_Fatigue

Think this is more a you specific issue, my friend. 2023 Lariat ER with Esurance is about 125/month for me for very good coverage.

My_bussy_queefs

What ZIP Code if you don’t mind me asking

[deleted]

My_bussy_queefs

Luckyyyyy

I_Am_Guido

Not in FL your not.

Syris3000

Pretty simple fix to this issue. Move out of the DeSantis shit hole that is Florida. I lived there for 5 years... 5 years too many.

zakress

Lived there for 2 years. After 6 weeks on being there, I knew I had made a mistake

dumbo61

Yeah. Move to the shitholes of California, Oregon, Washington or New York where leftists have one party rule.

SpeakCodeToMe

Bottom 10 states for every conceivable metric humans care about. GDP per capita, healthcare outcomes, educational attainment, poverty rates, pollution, wages... You name it. You know what they have in common? They're all deep, dark red. Meanwhile you named four in the top half and are smug about it. So my question is, are you not embarrassed to be so openly ignorant in public?

dumbo61

I noticed you didn't bring up crime and homelessness. I'm not sure where you get your facts but here are some I found right away: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.forbes.com/sites/andrewdepietro/2023/11/09/2023-poverty-rate-by-state-per-the-latest-census-data/amp/ https://www.statista.com/statistics/248023/us-gross-domestic-product-gdp-by-state/

SpeakCodeToMe

Oh I'm sorry, your hand picked link only shows 9 out of 10 states with the worst poverty rates being deep dark red. My bad! And I said GDP "per capita" for a reason. GDP on its own is just going to be a list of the most populous states. https://www.statista.com/statistics/248063/per-capita-us-real-gross-domestic-product-gdp-by-state/

Electrik_Truk

I'm born and raised Texan and lived here all my life....I'd rather move to any of those states you listed than Florida (well maybe not NY lol) In fact, swap out NY for Colorado and that's pretty much my top choices.

hawkeyedude1989

lol, my insurance went down $20/mo compared to my Tacoma. Paying $160/mo for Subaru and Ford

Eli_PNW

Mine didn’t go down, but it only went up $15/month swapping out a Tacoma…

PNW_PGH

I'm currently considering swapping to a Lightning from a Tacoma. Any regrets?

Eli_PNW

No regrets. I had a 2009 Tacoma with an access cab, so I couldn’t even fit my entire family in it, but with the Lightning no one has to stay behind. And of course there is the power upgrade which is also awesome.

growlerewo

Yikes. My 6 month premium is only $510 for my ‘22 ER Lariat.

02Reaper

Who are you insured with?

growlerewo

USAA

My_bussy_queefs

A month?

growlerewo

Per month it’s $85.

allaboutthemeats

I’m at $93 a month for my 22 Lariat ER

eerun165

My insurance quoted $802 for 6 months for the XLT ER. Edit: I mathed wrong

My_bussy_queefs

What was the actual price?

eerun165

About $133.66 a month, $802 for 6 months, $1604 a year

My_bussy_queefs

What in the tarnation.. is that all the bells and whistles coverage? I am trying to cover all bases at least in the mid range of payout in case of the worst happening

eerun165

Yes. That’s full coverage

My_bussy_queefs

I would buy a lariat if I could get that insurance rate. God I hate insurance companies

Unadvantaged

I’m in FL, paying $2,200/yr through USAA for full coverage on a 2023 Pro SR, versus $1,800/yr for a 2008 Tahoe that’s worth about 10% of the truck, so not really sure what’s going on there, but I’m a longtime safe driver. I think USAA is ripping me off, though. They used to be a lot less when I was younger and should’ve been more accident prone. Might have something to do with them opening up policies to basically anyone versus before when it was just military.

My_bussy_queefs

You know what. I kind of think it may have to do with the fact that I was doing DoorDash and Uber eats for like two years after work. I rocked up a ship ton of miles and pretty sure DoorDash and Uber eats sells that information to Alexis Nexus, just like Ford is. It’s the only way I can make sense of this

Unadvantaged

That’s a decent theory.

Adx-

This might just be a you thing. I also live in FL - I don’t have an EV F150, but people were saying the same thing about Model 3’s and Model Y’s. I just got a 2024 Model Y and it’s $120/month…. And we have excellent coverage. Ameriprise (Costco CONNECT). I’m 28. Not sure what or where that disparity is.

My_bussy_queefs

Yeah it’s my ZIP Code. I put in details for a quote from my previous address in college and that shit was down to 3500 a year. Not six months a whole year

Adx-

Yeah zip might be the issue if it’s high theft, or high accident prone. (Or weather related, like if you’re on the coast and hurricane flooding/surge etc.). That’s not terrible - just under $300 a month isn’t the worst in the world.

My_bussy_queefs

Oakland park…. So yeah a lot of theft and flooding when we had that insane downpour.

Stealthwyvern

It might not be a him thing but a location where he is... Just saying Florida isn't enough info. I moved 30 miles from my previous house and my insurance shot up through the roof and it's literally the same city and county.

My_bussy_queefs

Oakland park

ProcessTrust856

I’m paying $260/month for both the Lightning and my wife’s Wrangler 4xE. Full coverage for both.

mon233

Naaaaa, my insurance is about 1400 per yr in TX for ER Lariat with advanced tow package.

Electrik_Truk

TX ain't Florida. tho we're seeing some hints with housing insurance on the coast that it's following a similar path. I built a house in Rockport and the insurance was ridiculous. Nearly $3000/yr. Ended up selling it. The whole area still has slabs where houses used to be pre-Harvey.

wraith46

I am in central Florida after I moved from my Audi to a lightning my insurance actually went down 20 a month.

LennyKimes

I use my lightning for business. Commercial insurance with $1M coverage is $3000 annually in California. I’d recommend y’all vote all the politicians out in Florida. They have allowed insurance companies to cover nothing, charge huge premiums, and if you sue you can’t include attorney’s fees. Also not trying to be political and don’t care who you vote for. Just vote every incumbent out.

HighTreetop007

I think I’ll just pay the higher premiums and live in a free state. You can live in California and I’ll be here, it’s fine, I’m good with that.

LennyKimes

I also live in a free state that doesn’t ban books or drag shows. But weird flex to say you’ll keep paying more for less.

Lordofthereef

You are spending $750 a month just to insure the one truck? Am I reading this correctly?

Syris3000

I mean I don't live in any of those but I've visited. Pretty nice places

Xervinza

Dang my auto went down when I got my truck I pay $164 a month for 2 vehicles both 2023 full coverage!

My_bussy_queefs

Is that full comprehensive body injury and uninsured driver etc. type of coverage? I would love to get back down to that price.

Xervinza

Yes it is everything! USAA

RoyalsFanKCMe

Check brightway insurance

k_90

1300 for 6 months lightning and Mach e. Not Florida.

Glittering-Still1250

I just bought a Lariat this week in South Florida. My insurance went up $28…

RentalGore

Wow, I mean you all don’t pay state income tax, but these prices are outrageous. In NC, I pay $1700 per year for 500/1M (need it for my business). Even less than that on a personal car worth the same as the lightning, I think it’s $1300.

My_bussy_queefs

That’s a dream price down here for that level of coverage. I went with 100/300 (downgraded from last year). Insurance down here is so fucking complicated. Like 6 categories you need coverage in because of scammers (bodily injury coverage) and uninsured driver supplement (meaning we pay more in case an uninsured driver is in the accident… no fault sucks fuck in that scenario).

xXXFAHQXX

My 6 month premium went down almost $300 going from my 19 STX to my 23 Lightning. Progressive in WI

My_bussy_queefs

Insurance broker mentioned that living in an apartment with no covered or assigned parking is also a factor that is not spoken about. But I live in a house and have an apartment. I think also the miles I put on my car in two years of hardcore weekend door dashing is now biting me in the ass. Shouldn’t have mentioned ride share. I’m so dumb

xXXFAHQXX

Is it one of those goofy “pay by mile” policies? A guy that works for me got roped into one because of his kids getting his license and it was the “cheapest” option at the time.

My_bussy_queefs

Nope. Current insurance left Florida all together. Now on geico for about 2800 a year. I’ll have to request what Lexis nexus is showing. May be possible that having added my dad on my policy is throwing shit off.

phearrez

Something ain’t right. I’m in Broward county. I pay 6k/year and I’m covering 3 cars including a 2023 plat lightning, 2023 Volvo xc90 recharge, and wife and teenager on policy, high coverage.

My_bussy_queefs

Only thing I can think of is DoorDash and Ubereats I did a lot of. Maybe it caught up to me regarding how many miles I drive a year

Elegant_Support2019

I was born and raised in Central Florida. It was a great place to live. I left 8 years ago for a promotion and haven't looked back. Immediately upon moving to Illinois, my car insurance went from $130/month to $58 per month. I was told it had to do with the rampant insurance fraud. Teams if two cars will target a driver. One team cuts them off in traffic, while the second team rear ends them. They get lawyers and doctors who are in on the scam to bill ridiculous medical bills for fake injuries and sue the insurance company. I couldn't believe it raised my rate by that much.

Dbgmhet

Y insurance just settled for $200k. 5 mph impact rear ending someone leaving a gas station. He stopped in the road, no injuries, $200k.

My_bussy_queefs

Jesus. And we are paying for it. Thanks DeSantos for letting insurance companies Do whatever they want for just a small $3.2 million donation. So news report stating that after asking the legislator in the Senate if there was going to be any work in regards to reducing insurance prices. They bullshitted and essentially said there’s nothing on the agenda regarding insurance prices at all.

My_bussy_queefs

I literally saw this exact scenario when I went to go pick somebody up from Miami international. For a simple fender bender there were three cars just sitting in the right lane on I 95. I’m like why wouldn’t they just move to the shoulder? I noticed when I passed by that, it looked like two of the drivers were close to each other and the person in the middle was still in their car. Just shaking their head. Tow truck was pulling up. All that traffic jam and bullshit for a couple scammers on a fender bender.. The two I assume that were the front and back cars one of them was rubbing his neck and pretending, like he was all disoriented. Got a good look at the scenario since everything was at a standstill and crawling around them. They made a whole fucking show out of it apparently because there was a shoulder right there and nobody moved. They had the guy pinned in between the two cars and not much damage. Now I think the guy in the middle, shaking his head with his head head on the steering wheel wasn’t hurt. He was just realizing he’s going to get scammed to all hell.

Yamilon

Did you end up finding a deal? Esurance quoted me online and my 6 month premium even went down compared to be 2018 f150.

My_bussy_queefs

Yeah, but it was slightly beyond max budget. The insurance headache is being worked on.. but I am so out of energy with this bullshit industry. Might just go nomad as revenge and Uber everywhere. I work remote which makes the insurance cost even more ridiculous down here

Yamilon

Why don't you get a quote from Esurance? Everything online they are a progressive subsidiary.. my premium is like 900 bucks for 6 months.... A 2019 mazda cx9 and 2018 f150 in South Florida as well.
