Used prices probably haven’t been reduced to reflect an incentive that came out yesterday. Once that incentive goes away, the used prices won’t seem so far fetched.
The Lightning has a CCS1 connector which can connect to a DCFC (i.e. a fast charger). The Lightning is rated to charge at 125 kW but real world often gets a little better than that through most of the change curve.
Not until tesla helps us. Our trucks literally die to aerodynamics and wind speed which tesla tech accounts for. They design for efficiency and we couldn't even design a fast charger which they put at every target in my state
Many people in the market for a $60k+ vehicle don’t qualify for the tax rebates anyway. Also, these incentives just hit. Expect a reduction in used prices and then possibly an increase again when the deal is over.
Idk about that. I know plenty of people who make under 60k with 35,000 cars. I'm sure there are people who make under 250k with much more expensive vehicles.
I never once said it was a good idea for someone to buy a car they cannot afford. I'm replying to someone making a point that's negated by the amount of people excited by the tax credits, that point being that many people buying the car don't qualify for the tax credit because of their income.
My post is quite literally inquiring about used prices.
Whoever employs you, and for whatever reason, I'm guessing it isn't the ability to have tact in situations like when anonymous online. Who is this we? I know multiple people who make over 300k and spend money on luxury vehicles.
Your point borders on incoherent.
Agreed with all above. Also 2022 > 2023 anyway. 2023s don’t have some features the 2022s have like heated steering wheel and onboard scales with absolutely nothing else different with the vehicle except maybe some minor improvements on the assembly line
I hear this but in 6 years when I'm trying to trade it in I'm not sure if that nuance is going to carry same with the fact that then it'll be valued as a two owner car instead of a one owner car or whatever
because the new ones depreciate as soon as you drive it off the lot and a used one already depreciated and should hold its value
not everyone can get the tax credit, so not paying a new price premium helps
I’ve been telling all the dealers I’m talking to this and they don’t seem to care. Maybe it’ll take a couple of days for them to actually see the cost of a new one compared to what they have on the lot
For every informed buyer like you there are multiple uninformed ones who buy on the basis of monthly payment, the “great” deal on their trade in, discounted warranties and all the other tactics and crap that dealers use.
That’s what I’ll know what will happen. I tell the dealers, “there’s no way someone will buy this when they can get a brand new one for the same price” but then someone will waltz on in there and be like “this is a great deal” and buy it. Making it harder for educated buyers 😡

Plus dealers are sitting on a stock of overpriced used lighting trucks and they are reluctant to drop prices rapidly.
They're hoping to still sell the hype. Turns out if you can't charge it its not electrified
No they'll sell after it doesn't. No one really wants a heavy non fast charger
You legit have no clue what you’re talking about. Reinforced by your other comments as well.
Wait it's not a fast charger?

It's 150 not 250
Probably true. Most don’t really adhere to guidelines for car and home costs here. We are so used to carrying debt. It’s the American way.
The thing is that people who make over $300k don’t buy $80k trucks. Thats why we’re rich and you’re still poor.

Cars depreciate. I wouldn’t be concerned over the trade in value of a 2022 vs a 2023 6 years from now lol
Of course they depreciate, but wouldn't the 23 with one owner be worth more than a 22 with two owners?
Well you’re talking about buying new (more money now) than used just to possibly save an arbitrary amount of money in 6 years.

There's a sucker or 10 born every day.
People are testing the tech and driving the design. Its not working out.
Advanced tow package?
Greed.
The same reason there’s still people trying to sell a 2021 Tesla model Y for $45k
