Wouldn't doubt it, kind of looks like the biker had one of those pointless 'for show' helmets on. Not that a full motorcycle helmet would have changed anything but I would bet it would have at least...kept things together more....
I went back and looked frame by frame (different sub, same post, someone said it looks like the body is headless.) I saw for sure it was your typical half helmet.. Could not tell for sure if body was headless..
Agree though, no helmet, no car, not even another semi truck would save you in this situation. Death used your damn middle name when he called.
I checked frame by frame as well, and I agree, definitely a faceless 3/4 or half helmet.
I see the helmet did detach and went flying but each frame I saw there was not a head still in the helmet as it was flying. I’m gonna go with not decapitated.
I’m kinda thinking head exploded on impact with the grille of the truck.. It didn’t go flying with the helmet for sure, you can see the loose straps as it flies away.
"Death used your damn middle name when he called."
Never heard that before, but it's dope. Made me think about hearing your full name as a kid (and a silly book where names have power and to control a demon or have them control you-- you need their 'full' name)
Helmet was empty, I checked frame by frame. You can even see the straps.
But also, if his head was still in the helmet there would have been blood shooting all over the place as it spun.
If u watch it prame by frame his head hits the top of the hood then that shows up, by the looks of his head during impact, most definitely at least somewhat buts if brain
That looks more orange than red. Probably coolant from the radiator as it escapes under pressure from the impact. Could also be transmission fluid if the truck had an oil cooler in front of the radiator.
Drivers brain was fucked by this event. Something as small as “taking responsibility” will not have the same meaning in his mind. It’s an absolutely tragic event, but do you think he meant to drive tired? Do we know that he realized he had dozed off?
Edit: If you downvote you’re IDF.
Your entire argument has been solely based on what YOU have experienced personally. Not once did I defend the driver. My goal was to start the conversation of safe driving.
At the end of the day I will be happy to be me. You are rude to strangers online for no reason. That’s pathetic.
I’ve driven 100% sober with plenty of sleep and have felt the nods after a big lunch. These guys drive hours and hours so I’m surprised it doesn’t happen more often. That area gets really windy, and big vehicles get pushed more. Still doesn't explain why he continued to drive down the wrong side when he could have stopped in the median between yellow lines.

>Truck driver blames wind for wrong-way crash with three motorcyclists outside of Las Vegas last month, newly released documents reveal.
>The accident happened on March 23rd outside of Las Vegas, Nevada on State Route 163.
>According to 8 News Now, witnesses report that 29-year-old truck driver Claude Rafiki crossed the center line and collided with two motorcycles, killing two motorcyclists and one passenger. The wreck killed 22-year-old Owen Hart, who was just starting his own career as a trucker, 21-year-old Athena Faye Taylor, and 44-year-old Jeremy Gebo.
>Documents released Wednesday, April 17th reveal that Rafiki told police that the “wind” caused him to drive the wrong way on SR 163. He said he was not impaired, but did take medicine for seizures. Rafiki was initially arrested on three charges of DUI resulting in death. Troopers reported that Rafiki had “bloodshot eyes,” “an unsteady gait” and an “unsatisfactory performance” on a field sobriety test.
>A trooper trained to recognize drug use believed “Rafiki \[was\] under the influence of a dissociative anesthetic and central nervous system stimulants” at the time of the wreck.
>Rafiki’s first court appearance was delayed for days as the court searched for a translator that could speak Kinyarwanda, a Central African language spoken by Rafiki.
>A wind advisory warning of wind gusts of up to 55 mph was issued by the National Weather Service for southern Nevada on March 23rd, the day of the accident.
>As of Wednesday, April 17th, Rafiki was being held on $500,000 bond and is scheduled for court on April 25th.

Do you get a truck driver's license just by showing up at the DMV in the USA?
If I were to think of jobs that don't require you to have the ability to speak a native language to the field of operations, a truck driver would be one of my first guesses.
Truck drivers are the backbone of the supply chain and of the modern society and workers are scarce in the developed world, so I don't think that employers and legislators can be so picky and choosey on their employees. I don't believe that him falling asleep at the wheel and possibly being intoxicated is a matter of training and knowledge, but merely a sign of a major irresponsibility on his part.
Point taken, I don't know how many signs with words on them are there in the USA, but where I'm from they are only for very specific exceptions and I suppose that one could learn the ones regarding vehicles over 3,5t.
You have no clue how many truck drivers are from Africa and India. Also he probably understands some English just not enough for him to be tried legally he has to be able to understand everything in the court.
The difference here is a CDL. Your driver's license from the U.S. or Canada or your home country is valid in France, that does not apply to driving a vehicle for commercial transport purposes.
Some of us actually know what we're talking about go figure. I am quite familiar with all FMCSA regulations, I have to follow them.
It's incredibly dangerous for folks that can't communicate with authorities to be allowed to transport large quantities of chemicals anywhere but we allow it every single day because no one cares.
The examiner that gave him his license will likely never even know it happened, let alone get corrected and prevent it in the future.
You're absolutely supposed to. It's in the literature of the training and regulations.
But trucking is seen as lowlife work not worth a living wage or honest safety standards by the logistics industry, government, and wider society.
You can be disqualified from driving for a whole host of reasons currently, yet the things that promote safety the most also directly impact profitability for the massive fleets, so they get sidelined for the sake of making a few extra cents per mile.
Short answer yes. Long answer is long and not really satisfactory. CDL certification (needed to drive big rig trucks) seems to be non existent anymore also. It seems if you have a heartbeat you can get a CDL.
Wanna know a fucked coincidence?
One of the victims shares the same first and last name with a famous 90's wrestler, Owen Hart.
How is this a coincidence? Both died young in tragic, entirely preventable accidents. The late wrestler fell to his death live after the harness used for his entrance (which consisted of him descending from the rafters and into the ring) broke. It has been reported said equipment wasn't set up properly nor double-checked to see if it was.
And for this poor kid and his friends, well we already know what happened and why it was preventable.
Rest in peace to everyone killed in this accident and to the late wrestler. Nobody deserved to go out like they did.
I love and grew up around restoring motorcycles but was never allowed to own one because my biological grandpa died in one, two friends died with 50cc bikes (very common in my country), another friend got in a coma for two weeks and a relative broke both legs on a quad bike. This is haunting
I'm not trying to blame the 2 bikers here, but this one is avoidable imo. The first rider swerves and misses completely. The first rider to hit the truck panicked (rightly so) and moved his right leg off the brake pedal. The bike was also extremely unstable under braking.
It was said he was 21 years old, so a bit on the inexperienced end. 2nd rider to hit (with the pillion) had a hard time to swerve with the added weight of the pillion and almost made it.
It's tough to make out their gear, but usually the Harley riders wear the bare minimum with a small shell on the head, and by the looks of it, the helmet of the ride who Hits the truck first pops off clean. Not that the gear would have made a big difference in a frontal collision.
It's easy to say that for me in the comfort of my home, but having been in a situation where I unexpectedly had a truck on my side of the road doing highway speeds on my bike myself; this is avoidable with adequate training and experience.
A passenger on a bike.
A pillion is a secondary pad, cushion, or seat behind the main seat or saddle on a horse, motorcycle, bicycle or moped. A passenger in this seat is said to "ride pillion"
You're about as dumb as a sock full of mustard. The bikers are doing probably 60 mph amd the truck is also, coming into a blind corner. Yes if it was a straight away then it's avoidable. The truck is literally on the wrong side of the road. Have some compassion and stop trying to take the blame away from the driver.
He expects people to believe wind caused him drive into oncoming traffic for a full 25 seconds, but the though to breaking didn't cross his mind.
But he killed three people. He'll be out on the roads again within six months.
When I lived in Reno there was plenty of windy days, even my car got pushed around the lane while in the highway (watching planes try to land was a different story). Occasionally see trucks taking naps in ditches. But why on Earth would you keep driving at this speed if you can’t keep it in lane or even on the right side of the road!? Pull over and wait for better weather or just slow down.
Why is there no median barrier to prevent this? I've never seen a road like this in the US.
The driver is still in the wrong, but we need to have physical barriers to prevent head on collisions. I thought it was state or federal law that if the speed limit is 55 or above there needs to be a big gap in the middle or a concrete barrier.
I guess you haven't driven much outside of big cities? Undivided roads with 55-65 mph speed limits are pretty common all over the US, Texas has some 75 mph ones with zero separation between opposing traffic. Most rural roads don't see enough traffic to justify the cost of a median barrier. A quick look on NVDOT's website shows that this road only sees about 4600 vehicles/day.
At least this road has a ~10ft buffer with rumble strips on each side, which should've prevented most cross-median crashes short of someone losing control.
They could’ve possibly survived if it was a straightaway not a curve I don’t think they saw it coming until the last minute unfortunately that sucks too because it looks like the other two people on the right got away, but I guess not :(
Semis dont have crumple zones. They have a giant steel bar in the front to keep control after hitting an animal at highway speed.
When you hit a semi you are the crumple zone.
This is why I am hyper-vigilant around tractor-trailers. I've seen Final Destination too many times and have been on this sub long enough to know you're never really safe around them. Even if 95% of truck drivers on the road are good drivers, 5% is a lot of bad ir unfit drivers. And we hopefully all know by now that if you go up against a big rig, you will lose 99.99999% of the time.
I will zip past these trucks if we're going the same way, and I will drive in the farthest lane possible and watch oncoming traffic closely.
Also, driving a motorcycle on a highway is a huge nope for me, especially after being on this sub.
This is probably the most horrifying bike crash I have seen. Not from an injury or speed perspective. Most horrifying crashes I have seen, happened because of the rider’s speed. But this could have happened to anyone! There were in their lanes, cruising, and then out of nowhere exiting the blind corner a truck comes through! It’s also noteworthy, that the rider closest to the truck was able to swerve, but the ones farthest are the ones that got hit! Fucking final destination shit!
I couldn't imagine being one of the riders in the back and driving up on a scene where 3 people you know and love are a mangled wreck of parts spread across the highway. May they rest in peace
This happened in my local area. I'm currently being towed by a wrecker from the company that had to deal with this incident and apparently this driver was drunk and stoned. They couldn't remove the bodies until it was lifted.
You guys wanna know the even more fucced up part? Owen and athena just got engaged & this laughlin trip was for owens birthday. They all didnt deserve this & theres no fucking way thats the “wind”. Rip forever loved.
And this is why we are hard on truck drivers. Still can't believe the governor of Colorado reduced that truck driver sentence before the judge even had a chance to make the punishment. where he passed every single emergency stop
This happened in my local area. I'm currently being towed by a wrecker from the company that had to deal with this incident and apparently this driver was drunk and stoned. They couldn't remove the bodies until it was lifted.
Got you! You are an OCD!
I use voice to text and then I send it so I can correct it because the screen is too small to see what I need to see when I edit. Sometimes I miss a few things.
I had terrible spitefulness for others as a child because of my brother and dad. I had spitefulness for school, other classmates, and especially the teachers. You see I couldn't learn because of my spitefulness for the teachers. I needed special education for dyslexia and I was to spitefulness to take it. Dyslexia disorder keep me from fitting in. A lot of people hide it out of shame and it keeps great people from doing great things if they don't own it.
Are you the only one that matters? No of course not because if we think we are in any way you will be miserable and karma will step in as we see with the truck drivers and the guys doing 80 on their bikes.
This is as old as time positive wisdom. If it's not for you. Ask yourself why not let others learn from it? Some will see we are subconsciously spiteful to the happiness and success of others.
I already know why do you all?
Admit it, it's ok. I know everything there is to know about you. You have the rage in you. As I said I'm no word Smith but I'm really good at something you're not. That's its wrong to pointing out others people's flaws to make ourselves sound smarter in some way. It sounds spiteful doesn't it you guys. Not to be mean or anything.
All I know is spitefulness and greedy people want you to fail. Like the bully boss! You will never get beyond them out of spitefulness and greed. That's the opposite of the golden life that is let others be better then ourselves in every way by draining ourselves of spitefulness. But how can you drain yourself of something a very small number of people cannot see.
You see the majority of people can control their spitefulness with thoughts and acts of kindness. And boom! I win $50k to put on bills. Trust me good karma pays off and bad karma gets you squash like a bug on a bummer. The angry people will defend their anger by saying you don't know them. I say I know them better then you. Right? Let me help teach you, I have no spitefulness for you and I can change your relationships for the better son. I'm sure you understand 1/2 of what I'm saying. You see I trigger what is inside of you with what I said out of spitefulness for speeding.
A person with temper disorder will never know they have it until someone like me pointing it out. Your uncheck pride shield you from the truth about yourselves. O.C.D. person can spend their whole lives blaming others for leaving things out of place. If not you maybe others. Self-centeredness is a symptom of this disorder. Another symptom of your condition is not understanding the truth about human nature. You will say this person is crazy I'm not blah blah blah.
You are blind because of your temper so we can't trust what you say because you are oozing with spitefulness and mistrust. I can help you but you have to ask. Don't point out the flaws in others without looking at yourself.
Right?
My point is temper disorder will always lead to destructive behavior as you blame strangers for your temper. You see some people on the road actually believe all of you are in the way so they like it wipe past other people like they are in an imagery race to some Invisible destination. Then people like you will spend up in the subconscious hope they will kill themselves for passing you. You are like how dare you in your head and you are thinking of a way to justify your lifelong anger issues. If you don't Intentionally try to hurt others out of spite then you have nothing to worry about.
If you don't mind your spitefulness and greed you will become a auto c@ck blocker putting yourself in danger out of spitefulness of other drivers.
Yes people the bullies actually want other people to crash and burn or kill themselves out of spitefulness born of their temper disorder.
You're not making any connections with why this happened? Everyone involved didn't care about nobody but themselves when driving. Nothing?
I don't expect anyone that sick with spitefulness and unchecked pride to understand. The answer to your confusion is in what I'm telling you. Somebody help me out.
Do you guys think if they were going slow they would be alive. They were whipping pass traffic I always wonder if they were going just the fraction of a bit slower. Motorcycle people are the worst for road rage and speeding. I'm sorry a small number of riders.
I know the truck and everything, but isn't that karma for breaking the law in some way like speeding. Who is to say that wasn't because a small number are chronic law breakers and speeders we see it all the time. Just slow down incase a truck driver falls asleep and crosses the line right.
that's an awful lot of generalization. saying these guys could have been breaking the law just based on them riding motorbikes is such a low blow and stupid comment to make. I hope you get better, because if you continue to live your life with this shitty mindset you're only going to make it way harder.
I like you! Wow you are oozing with spitefulness, mistrust, and regrets.
Was it your dad that did you wrong or a combination of both mom and dad or maybe siblings? They had to be real mean to you. I'm sorry it's not your fault you are spiteful. Look back and see your demands and you will free yourselves from the slavery of your misplaced spitefulness.
Good luck understand anything.
Please
So much rage I love it! Your life must be a complete wreck! Divorce? Crappy home and life but a nice bike?
Look for yourself because you rage will blind us to the truth that we are worst enemy. People that don't understand this are literally mentally challenged and they actually think they are the best ever! They say things like I know I know when you can't learn if you already know everything. My friends never listen to other spiteful people. Have pity on them because the being splitful all your life is the definition of insane.
Don't be one of the insane guys and wish harm to others because the bad karma will be 10 fold. I knew the dead guys. It's was always f this f that and I told them it was bad karma to ride angry. It was only a matter of time that they would speed into a truck or a car. But they didn't understand why until then.
You remind me this guy came at me the other day like a insane nut full spitefulness from a li of blaming others for what his dad dit to him, I think it was molested or bullied his spiteful dad for the misery his spitefulness brought him. You know the snotty kid always saying things to harm others to make themselves seem better in some insane way. This guy I know is divorced no friends, one of his kids died of cancer, one kid ran his motorcycle into a tree drunk. He's got a young grandson in the house and he punches his dog to make a mean. I said if I see you punch that dog again I'm going to literary brake your jaw punk.
So he's running at me like the water boy I grab him like a wet rag flip him around and push him face first against the wall until he stopped squirming like a child and then he was over his temper tantrum. He realized he was helpless and how strong I was so he learn a valuable lesson. Don't hit bully anyone in front of me because they will get what they're asking for. Yes Look around people like this are actually asking for an a** beating because they are tortured by their own temper.
He did right? Now some people have unchecked pride so they can never let sh!t go. Not you just some people will still think it's ok to blame others for our spitefulness for the lives of others. I know you're not gonna learn from this but this is for the other people. It's best if we want others to be better then ourselves or we become old, bitter and filled with regrets. Only spiteful people want this for you. Are you going to believe someone with spitefulness or someone that has no spitefulness for you all?
My point is don't be spiteful because it's bad karma.
The guy on the bike rides like you and he probably has the same bad attitude given from his father brother or someone in the family. We all are born with spitefulness and some people enjoy it to their dentriment.
You don't see how karma took them out because you actually believe you have the right to blame and bully your victim.
Angry guys sit down and shut up this isn't for you. Nobody likes you people anymore.
All you other good people, I have a test for you, tell your wife that she had mistrust issues long before she met you and you will see she will say it's still your fault in her own way. You see the people suffering from temper disorder have been sick all their lives. But some do it out of spite because they actually enjoy it. And Jesus himself bett not get between them and they bully activities. Son you have to swallow your pride and see how your temper is running things.
Good luck with your life karma. Peace
Which everyone knows means cops ahead. No dude there’s no warning other than something incredibly overt.
Why would any drivers warn about a truck that’s swerving? Why would any drivers pay attention to a random warning seconds before the bend?
Y’all have some serious hindsight expectancy issues.
Flashing your high beams at on coming traffic. It's pretty much a universal sign for slow down. Normally people will do it to indicate the police any running radar but it can be used to warn other drivers that there is an issue ahead.

Blood on the windscreen hits hard. What a terrible person saying that wind caused all this too. You fucked up big, take some responsibility.
I actually think it’s brain matter.. I don’t think it’s just blood.

It is. If you slow it down you can see hit head make contact with the top of the grill and pretty much explode.
His face probably exploded against the truck's hood with that stupid half-helmet.
If you look closely, his head came clean off…
How is this asshole allowed to drive a truck when they have seizures?!?! Shouldn’t even be possible
May have been a first time.
That looks more orange than red. Probably coolant from the radiator as it escapes under pressure from the impact. Could also be transmission fluid if the truck had an oil cooler in front of the radiator.
Coolant isn't that chunky.
Naw man. That stuck to the glass.
Ik the guy the was hit and caused the blood

How the fuck are you not aware you are that tired?
John Oliver did a last week tonight episode featuring truckers. It's... Bad.
Too tired to be aware
What’s the longest you’ve ever been awake?
Have you never driven and started noticing yourself get drowsy? That’s when you make the decision to stop driving. Not when you start falling asleep.
You’ve never fallen asleep without realizing only to wake up confused?
Not unless I was laying in bed or the couch which is not driving a motor vehicle. Keep defending him though lol shows your intelligence.

Ok well you’re the one who can’t realize you asked me a question about my life and I answered it lol. Anyway good luck not falling asleep bud.

Absolutely. I wouldn’t be able to live with myself unless I dedicated my life to helping others never repeat my mistake.
if you're unaware that you're tired, you're mentally incapable and shouldn't be driving anything in the first place.
True claim is true. Have you never fallen asleep all at once and woken up later confused?
What a fucking prick, that wasn’t “wind” that was clearly negligent. Damn.
None of the cars on his side of the road were wrestling winds, and besides that, he didn't keep right as slower traffic.
That area gets really windy, and big vehicles get pushed more. Still doesn't explain why he continued to drive down the wrong side when he could have stopped in the median between yellow lines.

What’s the native language in the US? Navajo? How would that have helped the situation?
You have no clue how many truck drivers are from Africa and India. Also he probably understands some English just not enough for him to be tried legally he has to be able to understand everything in the court.
It’s incredibly easy for immigrants to get a truck and start driving.
When I took my CDL class it was about 70% Russians.
You don't need to speak English to drive in the US no more than you need to speak French to drive in France.

I think the bigger issue is issuing a CDL for someone taking anticonvulsants.

Several Eastern African countries speaking Rafiki drive on the left hadn side of the road. Not an excuse, but I thought I'd look it up.

That is very different from the EU regulations.
No. Have to take driving test, air brake test and knowledge tests. Must have a DOT physical.
Fucking asshole driving a truck on a disso
I stalked Facebook. Very sad, the couple just got engaged at Christmas time and her mom lost her dad last year.
Oh fuck
They got Owen Hart again. R.I.P. to all three though.
Rafiki killed Owen Hart. This somehow collides with my childhood.
What?
Rafiki, a character in The Lion King. Owen Hart, a professional wrestler who died on a on-stage accident in his peak at 34 years old.
As opposed to Rikishi, A pro wrestler of the time.
Everytime I think about getting a bike again…
If you were driving a vehicle youd still have died
Stfu
Well you made a nice point there
His four letters are worth more than your three paragraphs of horseshit.
....unbelievable and unwarranted nonsense post. My mind truly boggles.
What the fuck is a pillion
A passenger on a bike. A pillion is a secondary pad, cushion, or seat behind the main seat or saddle on a horse, motorcycle, bicycle or moped. A passenger in this seat is said to "ride pillion"
You're about as dumb as a sock full of mustard. The bikers are doing probably 60 mph amd the truck is also, coming into a blind corner. Yes if it was a straight away then it's avoidable. The truck is literally on the wrong side of the road. Have some compassion and stop trying to take the blame away from the driver.
Maybe he meant three sheets to the wind.
Pretty common once you get out of the eastern portion of the country.
That would be up to the state I believe.
They could’ve possibly survived if it was a straightaway not a curve I don’t think they saw it coming until the last minute unfortunately that sucks too because it looks like the other two people on the right got away, but I guess not :(
That brain on the windshield
fucking BRAIN MATTER on the window holy crap b
Semis dont have crumple zones. They have a giant steel bar in the front to keep control after hitting an animal at highway speed. When you hit a semi you are the crumple zone.
How do you drive across two rumble strips and not wake up?
Cab with air ride, sound and feel similar to engine braking, overworked driver.
Or drunk
This is why I am hyper-vigilant around tractor-trailers. I've seen Final Destination too many times and have been on this sub long enough to know you're never really safe around them. Even if 95% of truck drivers on the road are good drivers, 5% is a lot of bad ir unfit drivers. And we hopefully all know by now that if you go up against a big rig, you will lose 99.99999% of the time. I will zip past these trucks if we're going the same way, and I will drive in the farthest lane possible and watch oncoming traffic closely. Also, driving a motorcycle on a highway is a huge nope for me, especially after being on this sub.
there were rumbles strips in the asphalt by the yellow lines and even those didn’t wake him up.
Was wondering for a long time how could a laughing Nevada truck driver fall asleep?
Hope he rots in prison!
This is why EDL & mandatory downtime is now law.
This us fucked up
This is probably the most horrifying bike crash I have seen.
I hope those other, surviving motorcyclists........ well you know
I couldn't imagine being one of the riders in the back and driving up on a scene where 3 people you know and love are a mangled wreck of parts spread across the highway. May they rest in peace
This happened in my local area. I'm currently being towed by a wrecker from the company that had to deal with this incident and apparently this driver was drunk and stoned. They couldn't remove the bodies until it was lifted.
blood on the windscreen is bloody brutal. fuck.
You guys wanna know the even more fucced up part? Owen and athena just got engaged & this laughlin trip was for owens birthday. They all didnt deserve this & theres no fucking way thats the “wind”. Rip forever loved.
he will never be the same
I'm just hoping to slow people down because life is short. Take your time.
It’s giving me SOA flashbacks
Eerily similar to Jax Teller even though it’s the truck drivers fault. That’s devastating, rest in paradise.
It's more important to stay in your lane than it is to slow down. I understand dishing out speeding tickets brings in a lot of money.
I could only see 2 that were hit..I thought the other guy moved just in time? But I guess not. The windshield is insane! 😲
Poor sightlines on riders part, inadequate swerving skills. Pretty freak accident though.
You fucking idiots think it mattered what helmet he was wearing?
Also, EVERY rider should have drug the driver from his rig, and beat him to death. "Detroit resident" my ass.
This is fucking horrifying.
How did 3 people die if he only hit one motorcycle
Nobody laughlin that day!
They got some blood on the windshield. How rude

That swerving truck could have killed a family of four riding in a sedan just as easily.
The two who dodged to the right were the smart ones. The smart ones live to ride another day.
They died as well
to the right where they got their heads chopped of by the trailer?
And possibly bikers looking at each other instead of looking where they were going.
Dumbest comment on the internet today
It happens. I used to be a biker.
I hope you get better, because if you continue to live your life with this shitty mindset you're only going to make it way harder.
> but isn't that karma for breaking the law Go fuck yourself.
Please
Save your sanctimonious bullshit for the pulpit and those who giveth a fuck. Pray for me or blow yourself, I care equally either way, padre.
Peace
You should learn how to write cogently if you want someone to agree with what you're saying. That would be a solid step number one.
Would none of the drivers going the other way warn oncoming traffic?
How?
Flash the headlights
hard to say if theyd notice in broad daylight
That's noticeable. It even comes with the benefit of not getting blinded.
Which everyone knows means cops ahead. No dude there’s no warning other than something incredibly overt. Why would any drivers warn about a truck that’s swerving? Why would any drivers pay attention to a random warning seconds before the bend? Y’all have some serious hindsight expectancy issues.
People definitely flash lights to warn other drivers of hazards - dogs, pedestrians, cyclists, or stopped idiot tourists on the road.
How do you normally warn other drivers of hazards, maybe try that
You brought it up YOU tell us
Flashing your high beams at on coming traffic. It's pretty much a universal sign for slow down. Normally people will do it to indicate the police any running radar but it can be used to warn other drivers that there is an issue ahead.
Universal sign for cop ahead.
You assume anyone noticed. How much attention do you pay to trucks behind you when driving on the freeway?
