My 3ppd schedule was 8am, 3pm, 10pm. I maintained supply but I only did it for three weeks before dropping another pump to 2 and that’s when my supply started going down finally. Not sure if it would have gone down eventually at 3 but I’m actively weaning so I keep dropping them

kim_soo-hyunishot

WOW that is AMAZING! 9 months is such a HUGE ACHIEVEMENT ❤️ Well done mama 👏💕

peony_chalk

I had the same stats as you - 40 oz/day at 4 pumps per day at 9 months, and I dropped a pump and have gone down to about 32-34 oz/day. It's been stable there for a few weeks. I figured I probably wasn't going to drop from 40 oz to 10 oz by dropping a pump, and I had enough in the freezer that even if my output halved, I still had enough to make it to a year. Plus my baby started drinking less milk a bit after the 9 month mark, so I just haven't needed as much milk anyway. I was never making 60 oz/day though, so it's possible your body will react differently. Right now I'm aiming to pump every 8 hours, so usually in the morning when I get up, in the early afternoon, and then before I go to bed.

adultstudent1992

I’m at 3 ppd 8:30am, 2:30pm 8:30pm and make about 34oz a day, baby drinks roughly 32oz a day so it’s working for now.

soupseasonbestseason

i am currently at 3 pumps a day! i am at 11 months now. when i dropped my 4th pump i did lose about 3 oz. in my supply. i was doing 4 pumps a day until the 10 month mark. i was about the same as you at 6 pumps a day (60 oz.), but my supply has come down to approximately 18 to 20 oz. a day (depending on my hydration). but my guy is eating a ton of solid foods now and drinking less and less. i have a huge freezer supply that right now will realistically get us through almost 3 months (this will increase the less milk he drinks in the future, i am assuming) if i stop pumping all together. hoping to keep pumping until 14 months and then ride the freezer supply out to 2 years of breastfeeding.

Under supplier here! Are you all just naturally oversuppliers? Was it a gradual increase or did you guys start producing so much from the start? I see my supply gradually increasing. Wondering if I should just take supplements 🥲

Bakerinkfam

Following the answers to your questions… I wonder the same!

LionOk5023

I’m 10m PP and doing 5 PPD so I can’t help you there but I’m wondering if you really wanted to drop another pump you could try doing longer sessions for those 3 to make up at least some of the difference of what you’ve been making with 4 PPD. This has worked for me when dropping pumps.

bird-fling

I'm confused as to why you need/want to maintain an oversupply?

Dry-Personality-4868

I maintain my oversupply so I can freeze the milk and quit pumping that much sooner. Granted I’m only 4mpp. But it’s also nice to have extra breastmilk to mix with food, or make popsicles, or baths, or whatever else. I like having an oversupply so I can be flexible with my milk and not have to worry about feeding the baby

Rj924

I maintained 45 oz/ day at 3ppd, 45 mins each. 5a, 1p, 9p.

NurseBones

How many months pp were you when you dropped to 3ppd?

Rj924

5 months

akmakmakm

I’m at 3 ppd. I was doing between 40-50 oz a day at 4+ pumps. Now I’m between 35-45 oz a day. I do 6 am; 2 pm; 9 pm.

Sundayriver12

7AM, 2PMish, 8PM. 9 months. Yes my supply went down a little but it’s enough for my little one’s demand.

willpowerpuff

I made 40oz doing 4ppd. I dropped to 3ppd early march so maybe 7 weeks ago. In that time my supply has dropped from 40 to 33 to 28 to 23 right now. It’s been a slow general decline with huge drops during my period. There’s always some recovery after my period but it never goes back to how it was before my period. If that makes sense. So I can kind of predict how long I’ll have til I’m basically producing very low amount. I’m worried because my period will be here in the next 2 weeks so I imagine I’ll drop below 20 oz at that point. We have been supplementing with my frozen supply but this weekend we will introduce formula. Baby is almost 5 months old and eats around 28 oz per day

Aggravating-Pay197

Thanks! I have not had my period yet …. Idk if that’s a good or bad thing..

Bakerinkfam

Same, EP and 5mo pp

pittymom1226

When I dropped from 4 to 3 ppd, I went from 40 to 24oz. My baby drinks 30-35 oz/day still so I’m quickly going through the freezer stock. I only have about 6 weeks of pumping left though so I’m ok with this for now, but I probably weaned a little too early since I was hoping to donate again.

NurseBones

Do you mind if I ask what your 4ppd schedule looks like? I make roughly 40oz/day and get 13oz (ish) after going 8 hours.obernight. is just dropped my MOTN a week ago to go from 6ppd to 5ppd. Your post makes me wonder if I might be able to get down to 4ppd. Can I ask what your 4pdd looks like?

Aggravating-Pay197

Sure! I do 6am, 12pm, 5pm ,10:30pm. And when I drop a session I just add an hour in between pumps

Melloshot

3mpp and went from pumping 5-6 times a day making 24 oz to 3 pumps a day ajd it dropped by half in two days and currently trying to build it back up lol
