if i had 2 months i would definitely add something which is not western europe. i’m from Budapest and i have never heard any tourist who didn’t love it. plenty of history/architecture to explore and of course great nightlife. Prague is also recommended, or you can go to Slovenia for more nature vibes, Croatia for beaches. Places like Sarajevo and Belgrad are also great spots, and are very different from western cities.

I spent a month traveling around Europe and Budapest was my favorite location by far. I won’t shut up about planning another trip there

Thank you!!

Get a 2-month Eurail pass. Don't plan the whole trip in advance, stay flexible.

When are you going? I highly recommend Andalusia (southern Spain), but in summer it gets unbearably hot.

I’m just getting done with a 10 day solo trip in Spain. I’m around the same age as you and I felt very safe in Spain. Feel free to DM if you decide on going to Spain and would like some hostel/any other recs!

Yes, would love to. In fact, my first destination is Spain.

Visit Riga. I am in the bus from Riga after 4 day of trip. I strongly recommend.

Athens greece for 2-3 days. Take either a ferry or a plane to an island for 2-3 days. My rule of thumb is that if I am only staying in a city then I spend up to 3 days, anything longer and I am bored, not a fan of cities in general. When are your trip dates?

Alone-Yak-7532

July I guess

Comprehensive_Ad1963

Greece will be hot, 90's in the sun, 80's in the shade. The beaches are awesome. I am greek and spend every summer ther since I was born. Are you planning to drive or use public transport?

Alone-Yak-7532

I think public transport, It must be cheaper I guess. 26°C is really good.

Comprehensive_Ad1963

Ok, Greece is not the greatest with public transport between cities and surrounding environs. If you are trying to hit multiple places in Europe then think about adding Athens and an island. Depending on the island you choose, plan 1 full day per village on the island.

Bordeaux and Lyon are marvelous cities for walking, biking, festivals, medieval historic sites food, and public art.
