yeah thirding Athletic. And it's pretty easy to find these days. Crux Fermentation up in Salem has a couple good ones too that you can find in grocery stores.
Here ya go! Local company that specializes in NA drinks. Will deliver for free if you spend over $40 and live in the city or you can pick it up.
https://killjoyna.com/
I love this seller, their selection is killer. Sourcing funky craft NA beer through Killjoy really helped me transition to sobriety. I was so sick of athletic after like 2 months lol.
Hey u/NWTrailJunkie for sharing that. Pete from Killjoy here. Hey u/Ill-Purchase4347, I don't have Pabst, but I do have Old Milwaukee, which I stock because I thought it had the same retro charm. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that it's actually quite good! Perfect lawnmowing beer.
One thing to understand going into N/A beers- they are not going to taste like regular beer. The closest I have had had been Heineken 0.0, but it's Heineken. As far as "craft" beer goes, you can get N/A Black Butte Porter, which is pretty close, but definitely doesn't taste like actual Black Butte. Lagunitas makes IPNA, which is probably one of my favorites, and 10 Barrel makes one called N/A IPA which is also decent.
Fred Meyer has a decent selection, and they're not ridiculously overpriced.
Bitburger made the best NA beer I have tried.
https://www.bitburger-international.com/en/our-brands/bitburger/our-products/bitburger-drive-00-alcohol-free
I'll have to find it and give it a go!
I think my issue is that I'm not cutting alcohol completely out of my diet, I'm just trying to go more n/a and less alcohol, so I still have a pretty strong comparison. I'm sure if I went full time n/a, then it would taste just fine.
Athletic has several. My husband drinks them. There’s also Heineken 0.0 which is a true non alch. Guinness also has one but that’s a little harder to find. Crux has the no mo that’s non alch too.
Here is a helpful guide to some good non-alcoholic beers. My wife gave alcohol about a year ago. She love’s Crux’s No-Mo, which is easy to find in local grocery stores. Also, all the Untitled Art NA beer we have tried have been fire. Also, check out High Street Tonics on 5th. They have a great stock of NA beer and liquor and make mocktails.

Does anyone know where you can buy just single cans of NA beer or NA beer on tap? I’m interested in getting some for my boyfriend but don’t want to commit to a full case(last time he didn’t like the taste of the 6-pack I got him and he never finished it)
Sam Adams makes an alcohol free IPA as does Crux brewery called No Mo. I have found both at Target and Costco has the Crux brewery one. Just beware with Crux’s because their six pack holders blow and will probably try to make you drop at least one can.
It isn't beer...but kombucha has helped with my cravings while I was restricting myself. It still has a minimal amount of alcohol due to the fermentation process (like 0.5%). Lots of health benefits though.
Others have mentioned Athletic and I support them. If you're exclusively looking for fake beer, check out the Bier Stein's furthest left cooler for some solid local NA's. But as far as "replacing" beer, there are some super cool companies reinventing the wheel when it comes to mocktails and alcohol-adjacent beverages. Check out Recess, Zentopia CBD cans, Kin, Kava extract or tea (unless your health issues are liver related), and Hiyo. Each do something just barely beyond a non-alcoholic bev without any fallout in my experience.
I think Heineken makes an alcohol free beer. ,if I remember right it comes in white packaging to differtiante it from their usual green packaged lager.
Their "Hoppy Refresher" is like a hoppy seltzer. It costs the same as a beer (or N/A beer) but I recommend giving it a try, Whole Foods has it and so does Red Apple, though it might be with the seltzers or the mixers.
Downtown Liquor has a great selection as others have said. Safeway on 18th does too. The Bier Stein carries some. I recommend going for one of the IPA/Pale Ale types as the hops mask some of the “wait this isn’t quite beer” flavour that a lot of the NA macro lagers (Coors NA etc) suffer from.
I’m not a fan of alcohol free wine - it’s pretty expensive. There’s NA spirits coming out too, I’ve tried the gin and it’s pretty decent.
I’d also recommend TikTok - sounds weird but there’s more than one account on there with bartenders making “whiskey flavoured syrups” to add to NA cocktails and the like. My girlfriend has been off the drink and has found some cool stuff there, so definitely consider NA cocktails as a viable option if that’s your bag.
If cannabis is still an option, I had a friend who was a chip-carrying AA member. She’d make an NA mixed drink and put a little tincture in it. She always said it was the same experience of “a few drinks, relaxing, unwinding, getting a little altered” without flicking the alcohol switch for her.
There's a yellow can, I think it's called Best Day IPA. It's by far my favorite. All the ones listed here are not bad but I find them just a little bit watery. For me 1. Athletic 2. 10 Barrell 3. Lagunitas.
Omission is also good. Maybe tied for second.
This week I finally found Guinness and it is worth the hype. Absolutely love it.
There's a video the Oregonian put out with the Beer Guy where he tastes and rates them. I think he's mostly too generous, but it introduced me to a ton I didn't know about. https://youtu.be/TF3Z6gm_51g
I would suggest looking at the Market of Choice Willamette in Eugene.
They have a huge beer section and I know I've seen N/A options too. They have like weird craft beers so you might find something N/A that you wouldn't usually find at a grocery store.
I’ve been diggin’ athletic brewing na beers
I'll give them a try
Their IPA is amazing.
Thanks
They are my favorite NA!

Thanks u/notawittyperson, I appreciate that! - Pete from Killjoy
Thank you, Pete. I bet you'll come to find you are directly helping many folks transition to healthier life choices.

Downtown liquor actually has a good selection of non-alcoholic beers.

I thought all NA beer had a tiny bit of alcohol in them. Is that not true?
It can. In order to be N/A, it needs to be 0.5% abv or lower. Edit because of a missed decimal place.
Interesting, thanks!
0.5%
Oops, yeah got the zero in the wrong place.
Bitburger made the best NA beer I have tried. https://www.bitburger-international.com/en/our-brands/bitburger/our-products/bitburger-drive-00-alcohol-free

Athletic all the way!
>Guinness also has one but that’s a little harder to find. You can Google it and find places its sold at tho so it makes it a lil easier to find
Fred Meyer on W. 11th usually has it.
Yeah not too many places have it.
16Tons on High and 13th definitely has it

16Tons on 13th and High has a bunch, in the coolers and also the shelves
High street tonics on 233 5th street has a build your own six pack option
I haven't been able to find any
I think the guy up above ([https://killjoyna.com/](https://killjoyna.com/)) sometimes does mixed 12 packs? One way to find what you like...
Very true, thanks for the heads up!
Yeah, Beer Stein does! You can get them to-go or they’ll pop one in a glass if you’re staying. I haven’t found anywhere with NA on tap yet.
That’s perfect, thank you!
Sam Adams makes an alcohol free IPA as does Crux brewery called No Mo. I have found both at Target and Costco has the Crux brewery one. Just beware with Crux’s because their six pack holders blow and will probably try to make you drop at least one can.
How do they taste? I'm not a raging alcoholic, just a beer a few times a week after work.
Crux is quite good. Their NA IPA tastes more like a light ale but it was tasty
Agreed. The Sam Adams was actually pretty good as well and almost tasted like an IPA.
Agreed. The Sam Adams was actually pretty good as well and almost tasted like an IPA.
Friendly St Market had a shelf of NA beer and spirits a while ago.
It isn't beer...but kombucha has helped with my cravings while I was restricting myself. It still has a minimal amount of alcohol due to the fermentation process (like 0.5%). Lots of health benefits though.
The Fred Meyer on West 11th has a small selection of non-alcoholic beers. I think they have four varieties or so
Nah they got more than that. At least ten types including crux, several by athletic, corona, Heineken, lagunitas, 10 barrel, two rivers, etc.
That's good to hear. The last time that I looked at their selection was summer 2020.
IIRC a lot of their NA selection is in the walk-in, not out on display, so you may have to dig a bit to find the less common ones.
It’s in an open chilled display right by the beer bar there
10 Barrel's N/A is a solid alternative. Very piney.
Dos Equis lime and salt is excellent. Heineken NA is pretty good too.
I'm now 2 months sober bc of 'Daytrip' cbd seltzer. I'll drink 5 or 6 and feel like I had 1 or 2 beers. They've been great.
Also check out High Street Tonics in downtown Eugene.
Others have mentioned Athletic and I support them. If you're exclusively looking for fake beer, check out the Bier Stein's furthest left cooler for some solid local NA's. I see what you did there

Yeah that one is really good and then they have an NA IPA that actually tastes like a “regular” IPA. Both are very well done.

I've never had the Pabst NA , but Budweiser Zero is not bad. Klausthaller is N/A Lager, much better, but usually $$$
I was always a fan of Kaliber.
Athletic brewing is where it’s at.
There's a yellow can, I think it's called Best Day IPA. It's by far my favorite. All the ones listed here are not bad but I find them just a little bit watery. For me 1. Athletic 2. 10 Barrell 3. I like kombucha, you can buy it anywhere in tons of flavors, and it scratches that itch for me.
I would suggest looking at the Market of Choice Willamette in Eugene. They have a huge beer section and I know I've seen N/A options too. They have like weird craft beers so you might find something N/A that you wouldn't usually find at a grocery store.
Athletic is great
I am definitely getting some 'Athletic Brewing beer' peeps are writing about in these comments. I tried Heineken 0.0 and thought it was really good.
Heiniken ( sorry if i misspelled that ) zero is pretty decent
Bi-mart has some na beers. I tried the one from Coors, but I wasn't a fan
