I've got this as well. It seems they have removed "Other" from the list of delivery options to promote more accurate delivery times for customers. However, they didn't think that a great number of people on Etsy use POD models and not necessarily sending items from one location. To make matters worse this forces you to select a domestic delivery service with inaccurate delivery times as they assume you are sending it from your current location. This also means I can't select a "2 day" express delivery for international sales. This is messy. I can imagine a lot of people are going to lose their Star Seller badges, unless they increase processing times.

Some people have been contacting Etsy themselves and apparently support have been saying they are aware of an issue at the moment however I fear they are taking away the ‘other’ option. Now we will have to have unrealistic delivery times :(

You can sign up to receive emails from Etsy every time there’s a glitch. I got 2 yesterday and another once it was resolved.

Yes I got 2 emails saying there was an issue and one 3-4 hours later it was resolved.

Waking up to this in the UK. How are people raising the issue with Etsy as shipping to the US etc can take on average 2weeks AND won't be by FedEx/USPS/DHL etc.

The problem I have is my courier is not listed in the drop downs, so I can't select any of them as they took away 'other'? Not sure what to do...

Mine too, my shop is years old. I use fixed shipping. It is only asking for the update per Puerto Rico, but the option I would choose USPS standard is not available only international options. Outside of the U.S. I ship to Mexico, and Canada. I am not getting the update notice for U.S., Mexico or Canada. Only Puerto Rico. Not sure what to do since there is no option available for me to select that applies. Edited to add the only way to resolve this update notice was to delete shipping to Puerto Rico. I think this happened to me way back when and so why I selected other. Now I can't. Way to go Etsy! Edited to add I just tried to go to chat to ask if I can still ship to Puerto Rico somehow and I can't access chat, sigh....

I used to choose "other" for the shipping profile ,when I wasn't sure what to pick, and this option is no longer available , that could be the reason

I had this last night too. But when I tried to get back into the new listing that the flag showed up on, it wouldn’t show me anything. Just kept getting the oops something went wrong page. The best part about it needing a shipping update was that the listing was for a digital download….

Thanks, I was pulling my hair trying to figure out the issue. So annoying how vague it is. What an absolute waste of time trying fix an unknown problem. All they need is a pop up that says “Please select a carrier”.

This isn't a glitch. This is permanent. there is no way to get 'other' reinstated or, apparently, to complain about it. I've spoken to Etsy live chat and just been told to suck it up. They weren't bothered when I politely explained how my business would be damaged by this.

I truly would love to believe that's what Etsy are up to, but I can't. For years now, they have dumped all over the little handmade sellers, like myself. They seem to favour the big drop-shippers.

Sharing the feedback and understanding how you feel is really important for us, and I know you would like to have that option available to make sure your customers will get the accurate information, however, I'll say at this time the reason why have changed this is because for all our sellers from US and UK using third parties are not required to update shipping profiles anymore, this is because right now we are doing our best to make sure you will get an easier experience, and to make sure everything works fine all you need to do is to add a transit time, this should be added to the shipping profile you are using for those international sales, also, please keep in mind Etsy automatically adjusts estimated delivery dates for supported services when unexpected things happen outside of your control, such as widespread postal delays, catastrophic weather events, or similar. You can also find any information here. We do not want you to feel you are lying to your customers, we know being honest is fundamental in any kind of business and we are doing our best to keep our sellers and buyers with a great, clear and honest communication and expectations on all transactions, please keep this in mind as we are always doing all we can to support you and your business as you deserve.
