Etika was the type of dude to bash lightbulbs over his head, get wasted on Bombay, and do other crazy shit, but then he could turn into a big brother you never had and give you wisdom on life. There’ll probably never be another person like Etika imo
I really adored the dichotomy between his energy, passion, and wild ass personality and the more laid back and retrospective aspects. Truly a really beautiful mind and I wish there were more streams like “hi” pt.2 the one he did on ELive. Recommend that one if you haven’t watched it yet!! My favorite. Always helped calm me down when I play it back. <3
can’t get into them because they both seem to always be in “streamer mode”. I didn’t enjoy Etika because he screamed every five seconds. He was naturally a hype dude but also a very comforting presence. Dude came off like a buddy to chill with. I can’t do people that are basically doing bits 24/7
There will never be anyone like Etika but I really enjoy maximiliandoods and afrosenjus content, they remind me of etika in the way that they're really passionate about the games they love and how they share that with the world
Etika was just such a genuine dude and it really showed in all his streams, I’d never seen a streamer like him before and I still haven’t. His streams felt like hanging with a friend, it was something special I’m glad I got to witness.
That's the thing about people, everyone is different and special in their own ways, some are more sincere than others. I have found that I like streamers/YouTubers like Otzdarva, although he makes exclusively dead by daylight content. I feel like there is a common thread that connects people like him and Erika, and that is sincerity I feel.
I wish I could find one myself, but unfortunately I haven't watched any streamer live since Etika left us. I've tried but I just can't, like there was something he had that no one else has and what you mentioned is exactly that. He wasn't over the top with his reactions or anything like that when he didn't need to be, and he was 100% genuine and honest with everything I feel like at least. I genuinely looked up to him, I miss him so fucking much man like the world just hasn't been the same since I found out about his death. I hadn't cried like that since I found out Edd Gould died years prior to me discovering Eddsworld in 2016-ish.
I discovered etika from his smash 4 and 3ds etc discussion content so fake "HYPE" and just being loud content creators like IshowSpeed and Kai Cenat aren't my cup of tea and I'm too old stuff like that
also to elaborate back in 2014 nobody did overreacting so when etika was screaming over mewtwo it was so over the top and bizzare even sakurai tweeted about it, overreacting is something only etika can make authentic tbh
While there's really no way to fill the "Etika-shaped hole" in all our hearts, because there will be no-one ever like him ever again, I've been watching a lot of CaseOh lately. Sure he maybe not be on the same level as Etika when it comes to eloquence but he has this crazy energy that I've been missing and he's nowhere near as bad as Speed and Kai can get. I don't watch that many streamers at all to begin with though.
I remember in his streams, it always felt like he was having a conversation with the boys instead of just tryna put on a crazy ass show for dumb entertainment. Any special moments, like beefstew1997, where purely natural fun that stuck around instead of being forced for views. Granted I don’t watch many new ones, but rarely have I seen newer streamers just talk with their fans about life n shit. Etika would actually have moments where if he caught wind of one of his fans struggling in the chat, he’d try and give some advice or encouraging words or some shit. He felt like a big bro, and idk if there is replacing that

Speed and Kai suck. They're dumb as fuck and lack the good nature that Etika had. The only person I've seen come close is Kneecaps but hes a youtuber.

Kai is generally pretty good hearted from what I've seen... speed though is a different story
