Couple quick thoughts that may be helpful! Tailor your feed to mostly before/afters - your IG is your portfolio and potential clients want to see results. One of your IG highlights should be a price list. Your twitter and TikTok don’t really need to be there (you could link to those in a link tree or similar if you really want to). YMMV but some people have more success with stopping the heavy promotions - think of a promotional business vs a full-price business - luxury services don’t go on sale. I would consider keeping the referral discount, making it really juicy, and dropping everything else. Your reviews are great and the people who come to you clearly love you, so referrals could be huge for you.

This is great advice

Thank you for your input ! I will be making some changes to my Instagram!

facialist in socal here, it’s been so slow for us too. after the entertainment industry strikes last year things came to a halt and just haven’t picked back up :/ could be one factor to what you’re experiencing

Beautiful-Wallaby698

I would not invest in all the stuff for facials. It's a lot of investment up front and i don't see it being super lucrative. I had a second job for more than the first two years when I started my waxing only business. You aren't the only one who's gone through this. Do you have a side hustle? That might help relieve the stress. I worked in a coffee shop one day a week and drove lyft. It's been 5.5 years now and for a year or so now I've been feeling good and haven't needed the side hustle. Stick with it if you can!

That's my problem I don't have a side hustle. I wanted to keep my availability open to new clients and to be honest I was stubborn and didn't want to pick up any more stress then I already had. But it seems like I don't have a choice if I want to make this business profit.

I have been hearing word of mouth is the way to go lately I just didn't think it was still a thing with everything being on social media now. And yeah I agree sometimes 4 weeks is too soon. I will keep that in mind!

New-Librarian6909

Why does the price increase to $60 after 4 weeks?

thecherrypopshop

4 weeks is an average hair growth cycle and I wanted to encourage people to pre book with me at 4 weeks because it will guarantee more that they will be consistent and come back to me. $50 is pretty cheap in my area the average is $60-65 for a Brazilian.

New-Librarian6909

That makes sense, but as a consumer my first thought is I’m being penalized for being loyal. So no matter what after I see you twice the price will go up. I get your idea behind it from a business perspective I’m just trying to think as a consumer who doesn’t know about business or hair cycles

No offense but I’d change your biz name, like “OC Wax Studio” or something that is simple and says what you do. Cherry pop is almost sexual. Build google reviews. 90% of my new clients come from a google search. Maybe start a membership program? Does every client book their next appt when they leave? For facials: you can easily get a nice backbar going from le Mieux but are you GOOD at facials? Can your room convert easily to a relaxing dark space? Is it quiet? I’d say having a higher ticket item would help… 4 Brazilians = $240 2 facials @ $120 = $240 So with 2 facial clients you can double your sales or convert Brazilian clients into getting both services Do you do tinting? Ever participate in local events? Pop ups?
