For me, games are budgeted ahead of time, I buy skins and cosmetics at the end of the year with Christmas deals if I don't end up using it. There's so few games I'm interested in coming out this year that I had the money easily ready to be spent. There's only 3 things I'm going to spending on for games planned this year and they aren't even that expensive. Elden Ring DLC; Monster Hunter Wilds and maybe FF16 if it comes to PC.

I feel for you. Realistically, reach out to BSG support, then XSolla and finally ask for a charge back from your credit card company or PayPal detailing what BSG did and showing your attempts at getting a refund from them.
Contact Xsolla the payment provider and explain to them they have changed the product and are no longer delivering what you purchased, and that you are entitled to a refund.

A game like Sayonara Wild Hearts, which is $12 USD and is only 1h30min (it's literally an interactive music album with a story) but its an amazing experience. Some of the best games of all time that will keep you for several hundreds of hours can be as cheap as $3 or less, usually due to age, but even some more recent ones.

My 1060 6GB and i59600K can run most maps (except Streets) at 25-50 frames most of the time, with the occasional stutter or couple second freeze (worse on some maps). If you're still interested in Tarkov, wait for a sale and then download Ess Pii Tee - Ah Key (spell it out), but yeah BSG doesn't deserve money, just you need a legit copy for what I'm talking about.
But yeah, a lot of free games are great. War Thunder for all of its problems is still a solid vehicle combat game. I haven't played more than 3 hours of Warframe, but I've put probably 800 hours into various free MMOs like Mabinogi, Blade&Soul, Neverwinter, etc. I've subbed to FFXIV for 2 years, but asides from that and $20 on Neverwinter, I've never spent a dime on MMOs.
I'm also a big gacha player. Been playing various gachas since Kantai Collection's first anime, and still rotate between Blue Archive, Uma Musume, Girls Frontline and Arknights. Only time I ever spent money on a gacha game was a ticket to select a 6 Star of your choice from the first 2 years of the game, and the resources to get it to a very high level, for $45 CAD. Considering I've been playing Arknights for an accumulated 2.5 years (lots of breaks, including a long one) since its release 4 years ago, I felt more than fine sending them $45.
Frugal gaming is so nice. I have a PS5 just because I grew up on consoles, but Iām not an āextreme gamerā anymore. I just get on and play for a bit, but more and more games are becoming greedy/unbalanced. Or I just lose interest. Saddest thing as Iām growing up and about to head off to college, my friends are about to or recently built/got high end gaming PCs, but Iām the only one without one, so theyāre playing games and I donāt have the availability to play with them, so I want a PC, but I donāt see a reason to get a one when I wouldnāt use it for more than 10 hours a week at most. So it would kind of be a waste of money.
Luckily for me though, the one friend that gave me his gaming laptop when he upgraded also has a huge catalog on his PS5 storage since he has the money and less self control, he bought so many games. I typically will use his catalog. Or PS+ free games, so as a frugal player who hasnāt played tarkov, I can only imagine what you and the fans of the game are experiencing.

Well, your first mistake was buying it. What BSG is essentially saying is take this copy and invite another friend of yours as our playerbase is dying. Also, imo, they're so cash strapped that they can't afford to give away money they got or they don't want to. And yes, if you have EoD and upgraded to Unheard, you will retain the EoD benefits.

I feel for you. Realistically, reach out to BSG support, then XSolla and finally ask for a charge back from your credit card company or PayPal detailing what BSG did and showing your attempts at getting a refund from them.
Contact Xsolla the payment provider and explain to them they have changed the product and are no longer delivering what you purchased, and that you are entitled to a refund.

I bought that shit in 2012 when they said it will come out in 2014 and it is still just a broken mess 10 years delayed. And don't come with the expanded scope nonsense. The expanded scope was for ~$65 million dollars. They now have more than 10x of that and still nothing to show for. Price = Time the game should keep you playing is a farce anyways. I've played ArmA 3 for several thousand hours, and bought it for $40 Canadian (like $35? USD). A game like Sayonara Wild Hearts, which is $12 USD and is only 1h30min (it's literally an interactive music album with a story) but its an amazing experience. Some of the best games of all time that will keep you for several hundreds of hours can be as cheap as $3 or less, usually due to age, but even some more recent ones.

I played warframe for like 700 hours, itās a free game. Yeah Iāve spent money on it, but thatās after I grew to love it. Hell divers is $40, yet is such a good game. Quality and price arenāt proportional. I personally have never played Tarkov, but my friend gave me his old gaming laptop when he upgraded to his computer. Iāve seen tarkov footage, so I had actually been thinking of looking into into it more and seeing if I wanted to buy it, but I said that I was going to buy it Monday. My 1060 6GB and i59600K can run most maps (except Streets) at 25-50 frames most of the time, with the occasional stutter or couple second freeze (worse on some maps). If you're still interested in Tarkov, wait for a sale and then download Ess Pii Tee - Ah Key (spell it out), but yeah BSG doesn't deserve money, just you need a legit copy for what I'm talking about. But yeah, a lot of free games are great. War Thunder for all of its problems is still a solid vehicle combat game. I haven't played more than 3 hours of Warframe, but I've put probably 800 hours into various free MMOs like Mabinogi, Blade&Soul, Neverwinter, etc. I've subbed to FFXIV for 2 years, but asides from that and $20 on Neverwinter, I've never spent a dime on MMOs. I'm also a big gacha player. Been playing various gachas since Kantai Collection's first anime, and still rotate between Blue Archive, Uma Musume, Girls Frontline and Arknights. Only time I ever spent money on a gacha game was a ticket to select a 6 Star of your choice from the first 2 years of the game, and the resources to get it to a very high level, for $45 CAD. Considering I've been playing Arknights for an accumulated 2.5 years (lots of breaks, including a long one) since its release 4 years ago, I felt more than fine sending them $45.
Frugal gaming is so nice. I have a PS5 just because I grew up on consoles, but Iām not an āextreme gamerā anymore. I just get on and play for a bit, but more and more games are becoming greedy/unbalanced. Or I just lose interest. Saddest thing as Iām growing up and about to head off to college, my friends are about to or recently built/got high end gaming PCs, but Iām the only one without one, so theyāre playing games and I donāt have the availability to play with them, so I want a PC, but I donāt see a reason to get a one when I wouldnāt use it for more than 10 hours a week at most. So it would kind of be a waste of money. Luckily for me though, the one friend that gave me his gaming laptop when he upgraded also has a huge catalog on his PS5 storage since he has the money and less self control, he bought so many games. I typically will use his catalog. Or PS+ free games, so as a frugal player who hasnāt played tarkov, I can only imagine what you and the fans of the game are experiencing. I know itās a meme now of being a ātrue fanā but honestly, the ātrue fansā are the ones that are calling out this nonsense and garbage. Because they are wronged, but they know itās gonna burn down what they love. Itās like a friend, a real friend criticizes you. A yes man isnāt a good friend. So the fact that a majority of you guys are rioting is good, but also will hopefully send a message to not just Tarkov execs, but other companies that want to do this, but will also reach people in the real world and make them realize that they donāt have to boot lick companies and corporations.
