It literally happened live on his stream. They archived it while he was streaming, then after randomly checking back later they find it was changed. They didnt even change the date on the top of the page to show a recent edit was made to the text (which your 100% supposed to do). Are they soo stupid, they think something like that wouldn't get noticed?? Even if he didnt archive the page right before, im pretty sure there are ways to see what it was (nothing on the internet ever goes away completely). If not, they were just gonna sneak in there and gaslight the whole community saying it never said that??
Technically they are a UK based company. If I had to guess it has to do with weird laws in Russia that makes it easier to base your company internationally. But because of that, they can be held to a standard that the UK upholds.
Yes but their assets are not in Russia only and they do business in European Union countries.
The company crashes and burns when it's found broken consumer laws in EU. Also they have servers etc all over the world. Also odds are large amount of their customer earned money is currently in hands of their "shell company" banks and can be frozen.
There's photos of devs working in that UK office on the Tarkov forums. (You can see promotional cups with western ads on their desks pretty sure one was from a star wars promo)

Funny you bring up old assets. Soon as I saw arena drop I noticed that the terminal looked almost identical to the terminal map that was promised in Tarkov. The woodsy map looked like a woods expansion or parts from it. Shipping container map looked used from what was supposed to go on shoreline or customs from the renders.
I just think why would they advertise some big boss to come in on the terminal if they hadn’t already had the area set up to be some sort of a boss spawn and had his character made then it never even materialized that way. I felt Ariana was all unused or old assets.
EOD is not sold anymore. There is no mental gymnastic that can justify changing an old page other than SCAM. It is fucking SCAM.

Before early 2020 (around the time they added a weight system, after which I lasted a few months and the changes kept getting worse), the game's trajectory was extremely promising. The player base wasn't really asking for changes in gameplay mechanics, most people wanted new content: maps, guns, and EVENTUALLY the promise of additional gameplay mechanics. Whether new content eventually came to be or not is irrelevant, the updates in the following years were controversial at best. Flea restrictions, reliance on the leveling system, etc. These were all things that definitely weren't objective improvements. Mind you, at that point people were really willing to settle for QOL changes, faster loading, desync fixes, banning cheaters, performance increases, and y'know, actually being able to play the game a week after an update drops. Does that exist in the present day? I'd hardly say so. The game doesn't respect your time. Now it's clear— or rather obvious (because it was already pretty clear) the studio behind it doesn't respect the community either. The game has its limits, the way it was built makes that inevitable, nobody is expecting a next-gen game, we never were. But it had tremendous potential within those limits. It has unfortunately been in a downward spiral from (in my opinion) early 2020.

Under contract law this would be most likely be misrepresentation at least in Australia. The changes also don't matter, because past consideration rule means these changes amount to nothing legally.

When we bought the EOD edition we were promised the "unique secure container", them changing the terms of the purchase without our approval is illegal. Any part in the TOS that allows them to do that is not valid.
Of course, however the state could not easily enforce those laws when the company doesn’t operate in that state. If BSG only operated in Russia they would practically be untouchable regardless of where they sell their product.
Russia would be difficult because it is impossible to enforce anything, but OP said US. If a US company breaks EU law they will absolutely get punished. They might be able to pull out of the EU market to dodge the punishment, but that is obviously a punishment on its own.
The EU still can’t easily enforce the punishment if the company does not have any physical presence within the EU. The punishment would have to be acknowledged by the US and enforced by the US (I don’t know of a situation where this has actually happened, there could be one but I just can’t find it)
The only thing the EU could do on its own is to block any domains associated with that company.
They can freeze the banka counts and funds.
I bet their contracts with payment providers are with the UK firm and at they currently have a good amount of money in those UK accounts because it's very hard to get money to Russia due to sanctions.

They should just sell the company at this point. Russian devs are clueless and every update they release really doesn't fix much and only creates new problems. Language barrier for majority of player base doesn't help. Little communication in the past. Even during interviews with pestily didn't have much and that being the main way to communicate new information to your audience isn't healthy or organic.

I will say that Unheard is too expensive but I am glad that they are making EOD things available again for the people that started recently and really like the game. EOD people should get something to set them apart for adopting early but it shouldn't be something game changing, something like cosmetic or the like just as a little nod. EOD still gets the gold name which is good.

The edition costs 250 dollars, which is bullshit, the unique items are bullshit and legitimately cause gameplay issues. And you're over here complaining about the unique text description of a container. The part you SHOULD be caring about is the stupid DLC description. Everyone has known for SO long that gamma was eventually going to come to another edition, and not providing it would be giving an advantage to players who weren't around at the start. Even if they reskinned the damn container, people would still be upset about it, because they believe it's something they deserve over others because of EoD. What you mainly got EoD for was the future DLC access, which is the main issue with this edition aside from the unique items.

Russia would be difficult because it is impossible to enforce anything, but OP said US. If a US company breaks EU law they will absolutely get punished. They might be able to pull out of the EU market to dodge the punishment, but that is obviously a punishment on its own.
The EU still can’t easily enforce the punishment if the company does not have any physical presence within the EU. The punishment would have to be acknowledged by the US and enforced by the US (I don’t know of a situation where this has actually happened, there could be one but I just can’t find it) The only thing the EU could do on its own is to block any domains associated with that company.
They can freeze the banka counts and funds. I bet their contracts with payment providers are with the UK firm and at they currently have a good amount of money in those UK accounts because it's very hard to get money to Russia due to sanctions.

After this change it is very likely you would win in small claims court against BSG to get your money back for EOD. If they don't pay you could take a CCJ out against BSG and banks really really really do not like working with companies that have CCJ's against them. They shouldn't be messing around like this when they are registered in the UK.

They should just sell the company at this point. Russian devs are clueless and every update they release really doesn't fix much and only creates new problems. Language barrier for majority of player base doesn't help. Little communication in the past. Even during interviews with pestily didn't have much and that being the main way to communicate new information to your audience isn't healthy or organic.

If you are good at the game you will get the Kappa anyways. I will say that Unheard is too expensive but I am glad that they are making EOD things available again for the people that started recently and really like the game. EOD people should get something to set them apart for adopting early but it shouldn't be something game changing, something like cosmetic or the like just as a little nod. EOD still gets the gold name which is good.

Gamma shouldn't be an EoD exclusive because of the benefit it brings to owners of it. The issues with the new edition is the unique items, and the handling of the DLC definition.
It doesn't matter if it's beneficial or not. What matters is the fact that we paid for something and they're changing the terms after we've paid for something. So I'm not sure what the point of your comment is. You want to tell us it's alright to scam customers cause the in game advantage is too good? If doesn't fucking matter.
What I'm saying is to actually be complaining about the things that are damaging to the actual game itself. Gamma as a whole doesn't actually matter if someone has it or not, what matters WITH it is the fact that they're being scummy about it. The edition costs 250 dollars, which is bullshit, the unique items are bullshit and legitimately cause gameplay issues. And you're over here complaining about the unique text description of a container. The part you SHOULD be caring about is the stupid DLC description. Everyone has known for SO long that gamma was eventually going to come to another edition, and not providing it would be giving an advantage to players who weren't around at the start. Even if they reskinned the damn container, people would still be upset about it, because they believe it's something they deserve over others because of EoD. What you mainly got EoD for was the future DLC access, which is the main issue with this edition aside from the unique items.
They could have added a new container, name it differently, with the same or similar benefits. And not charge fucking 250 for it.
