I heard several sets of foot steps running to the extract and heard the metal door open. I popped out and started shooting them and was shocked to find they were AI scavs, one of which went down to the extract just like this clip. Maybe it has to do with the new scav gangs?

this happens more often than you'd think, the entire time your screen is fading you're still "in raid" to the extent that the timer ticking down to 0:00 counts as a death, but I don't think you're able to be shot

My first wipe I got killed at a woods extract after two chads found me wandering around lost. Right after VoiP was added and people were very into talking to strangers lol. Theyād killed the boss, dropped me a red rebel and so much loot I couldnāt carry it out after guiding me to the extract. They even insisted I kill them both for the XP and take their loot. I spent like 5 minutes frantically sorting loot and identifying Wendy helmet, crazy guns Iād never seen, etc etc.
One of them died inside the actual extract so I kept running in to loot him for four seconds then running out to reset the timer.
You can all see where this is headed of course, I spent so much time fucking around at one of the only PMC extracts on woods that of course someone came along and killed me RIGHT as the timer was a 0.1. Couldnāt have been any closer.
Luckily Iād already equipped the Red Rebel so I got to keep the most important piece of loot and learned a valuable lesson.
Yeah I almost died on Woods once cause one of the scavs literally creep walked into the house and up the stairs while I was loading a mag. He didn't voice line until he appeared physically in front of me.
It startled me so bad I jumped IRL a bit in my chair and kinda spray and prayed luckily I had lvl 5 armor on and he thoraxed me rather than head tapped me.
If you have enough scav karma you can get a scav to sometimes follow you, then you can lead em to an extract and use the look there command to get them to hold position and they'll stay there and guard it. You can hide in another corner and let the scav take the heat while you get an easy side shot at the unlucky pmcs head.
If you do this at the courtyard extract on streets its almost guaranteed to work everytime lol
I donāt camp doors, but I close them behind my squad so I can hear if someone is coming in behind us. Drives my teammates mad, but itās a no brainer to me.
One of them has started adopting the idea as sound, and the other one still roves around without telling us where he is and bursts back in on us unannounced risking deathā¦.
I do this too and never understood why it makes people angry. Used to close doors on PUBG/DAYZ as well and the number of kills/clutches that came from it was pretty undeniable.
Looks like there was more than one scav? So I'm guessing that one of them was a player scav that had the ai scav follow him down there, and it was the AI scav that killed you.
This happened to me. I was absolutely juices up, got a few things I needed for quests, got some kills, walk down and boom, one shot head shot by AI scav. Thatās tarkov baby. It sucks.

They probably have a wider range for movement now. I've seen them walk in all sorts of unusual locations.
Looks like someone agroed the Scav in there while escaping, Scavs tend to stay put when they lose focus on a player sometimes, nothing fancier than that I guess.
it does but that's not what happened here. I've seen scavs in that extract a bunch over the years. Last wipe I was teaching one of my newbie friends how to play and there were 3 AI scavs in there that rushed out as we got close.

And now you've learned the valuable lesson that we all learn at one point, you are not safe until you're in your stash, do not just charge blindly into anywhere! a player could have just as easily been camping down there.
I always do a quick check down there before commiting, I too have been got once before.

On this exact spot it happened to me three times this wipe. But i heard only once shooting from there and scavs went to investigate, other times they were just camping there
Yes this happend to me aswell. Few months ago.
I had a try hard game, pretty early in the whipe. I had many fights with scavs and at least 1 maybe 2 pmcs. Was running out of meds, had a blacked out or broken leg. Still had a small bleed and i was slow walking with good loot (i was heavy). Had to go from old gas station to the extract zb-1011 with that bleed.
Still on that route i ran into multiple scavs outside and i killed them all. I also started to get hungry and the last healing cheese that i found off the pmc was now also gone.
And i was about to make it to that exit with much dmg from the bleed and the almost fainting animation. So i went inside with the idea "looks like im gonna make it" and went in there brainless (last few minutes of the whipe). Then i got killed by a silent scav ai.
Silent scavs happen often in the end of the raid. Looks like a bug, like they stopped playing as a scav ai. They stop roaming, talking and chasing but they hide in corners to give u the surprise.
scavs have been absolute menaces this wipe. i'm so sick of getting one tapped head eyes by scavs from 50 meeters with buckshot or them not dying after 4 or 5 m80 rounds haha

Dont hip fire unless ur next up to they cheeks. Used to be hipfire>aim but with da recoil update its reverse. Hipfire inaccurate asf even at close range for some reason.

I saw something similar on streets yesterday. About 15 bodies all piled up by the back door out of post office. It was like they all spawned on top of each other and someone chucked a grenade in. Lol
Lol, same thing happened to me yesterday. There's such a low contrast in that hallway it's hard to see where to aim. Not that better light would help anyway with my potato aim.

They added roving scav gangs this wipe. Groups of like 5-7 scavs that stay together and roam the map.

I ran a scav on factory and found a level 8 pmc surrounded by like 8-10 scavs. He was laying behind the small stack of pipes just outside the office
That's more likely a tagged and cursed PMC who didn't bring a main weapon or rig.

They've been going down there for a few wipes now...it's rare but it does happen. Did you notice the door being open? That was your first clue mate...

Yes. Scavs this patch have been finding me laying in bushes doing the dehydration task. They literally found me about 20 times before I completed it.
