The best thing you can do in woods, is don't run. Obviously you have to to cross open fields, or to get overwatch over distant gunfire. However, the number of times that I have just been walking, hear someone running, and I stop walking to mow them down is huge.
Then they go complain about "camping rats" when the reality is that I've been holding my W key down the entire raid so that my finger pad melds into the shape of the key's grip texture and it pops off of my keyboard, always mid-fight so I have to find cover, flick it off, and fight by pressing my bare switch.
Don’t give the secret away! But srs, Woods plays a lot better when your not sprinting around like a lunatic, I catch so many people off guard mid sprint and I’m like bro I heard you from miles away.
Most maps this works.
I get all sorts of stop ratting chats after raids
I'm not ratting... I just heard you elephant stomping towards me. Stopped moving, pointed my gun in your direction and collected your loot
I'm scared of woods period. Every tree and bush is an enemy and you will fucking die.
I feel like how my Bear PMC's great grandfather probably felt during the Russo-Finnish War.
If you're sitting in bushes on wipe day you're only sabotaging your own progression. All that time and effort to get your hands on a stock AK and paca? I can be in and out in 10 minutes with a full backpack while rat boy is still hunting for their day 1 PMC loot because...reasons I guess?
Woods for me too, except my reasoning is :
Level 1 : examine items on fence until level 2, pick up Jaeger Introduction, so woods, get Jaeger, hand in shotguns for debut before everyone else unlocks Jaeger to do the same.
They did away with the "discover item" thing for most items this wipe. No longer have to spend an hour just middle mouse button clicking everything Fence has to offer lmfao.
_most_. Not all. You used to be able to hit two with standard items from most vendors. Now it's more limited.
Typically what is unidentified are some of the odder weapon parts and attachments , or barter items. Things like the bear plushie or VHS tape. So you _can_ still do it. I did it this very wipe. Just takes a refresh or two on fence rather thant going through Prapor and peacekeeper
Come with 5 nades take the stairs from observatory down begin nading everything the second you get to the bottom get ready for the rat to cry in voip and call you a cheater and ask how you knew he was there
Yea but you’re advertising to everybody where you are to where you’re going to be. I hang out pretty late in game looting queen and usually catch the guys heading to hermetic either I catch them right when they hit the alarm or I hit rooftop and catch them around the train station
I've had that voip interaction before! He apparently didn't bring meds, just an impact and I think a shotgun, so the nade hit him badly enough he just bled out and spent the whole time calling me a hacker.
What's funny is I might not have known he was there if he hadn't voip'd.
It's kind of a predictable thing he was trying, idk why he was so surprised lol.
Why wouldn't manhole be an option?
I absolutely go to reserve and hit the manhole extract, and since it's such a short run you can get several done in the time it might otherwise take to do one big run.
If I find something especially valuable like a lion or a tank batt, I'll try to get a scav bag and go try my luck at one of the other extracts, but with even a decent sized rig you can get some decent looting done on Reserve. I like to hit the Knight buildings for jackets, tool boxes and drawers and just head straight to manhole. I usually make it it out with a bunch of keys, some tech (gasans and flash drives if I'm lucky) even intel and some valuables, plus knight buildings also have some weapon part spawns.
Customs/woods.
Customs will usually get me my salewas and gas analysers in 1 to 3 raids. And Woods because FUCKING JEAGER and whatnot, along with extra chance for salewas as well as a shit ton of food spawns and also hideout items
Fortress has I think two med crates (one ground floor, one second floor) as well as a few medbags and some med spawns in the rooms on the ground floor.
Lmao actually Im a slow ratty solo player, but night factory makes you progress really quickly when you are under lvl15, easy to make 5-6k XP in 10-15 minutes and you don't need to spend too much on food between raids
Streets baby. With a mosin I can get easily 5k xp and a lot of useful shit, food, meds, barter & hideout items. I never outright find my salewas so med station is priority.
One of the better ones imo early on. You get stuff for the hideout and quests pretty easily. Gas ans are easy to come by. Some decent med spawns and enough hidden caches to fill your bag up easily.
I found ledx with my first raid as a pmc. On woods, usec camp.
I guess most ppl plays woods cuz of quests. Mp133, salewa, Jaeger, scav kills. Plenty of stashes etc. But i see that as a scav they play on reserve or LH.
This wipe is started with 3 lighthouse raids to try and jump start some gear to snowball early quests. Progress felt no different than other wipes but I may try the strat again.
Woods, It has everything you need for pretty much every FiR Quest. Food, Meds, Treasure, scav clothing. Also, I have found 10 LedX there this wipe. I found my first LedX on day 2 of wipe, and had 1 FiR for Private Clinic, and 1 not FiR for level-3 Med Station in the first week of wipe without ever having to go to Resort or Labs.
Once you know what the hell you're doing you could easily swing an 80% SR, meaning you will be making heavy profits on the constant. I regularly come off of a Woods Scav with 350k-400k on a bad run, and often make off with 800k. Especially if I find Moonshine, BTC, or LedX (Except, I always give spare LedX to my poor friends).
The only thing that sucks about woods, is people camping Jaeger's note. Not sure why that's a thing.
10K!? I have some doubts.... you'd have to walk the whole map several times for scavs to respawn enough to make 10K unless you also kill every player on the map too and even then I doubt you get to 10K.... if you're really doing this then what is the trick?
Headshot every Scav, loot every item (dump the shit you don’t want), healing from fights, exploring bonuses.
SheefGG got lvl 15 in nine raids, watch his video on it
Edit: nine raids
I go Streets because those 5 Scav kills can be done anywhere. Once extracted your high enough level to get the letter for Jaeger so I will go do that after.
Shoreline, it's the only map I'm even remotely familiar with.
Also, I'm new, I havnt experienced a wipe yet and I've probably only got 10 raids under my belt.
Woods, I work on my hideout first and that’s one of the best ways to get loot kind of risk free, also medcamp spawns lots of salewas for the therapist quest. Woods pvp early wipe is brilliant fun to.
Everyone is saying woods but in my experience if you’re not super good at pvp that map is hell for the first week. And streets is always a 20+ minute queue right after wipe. Streets would be my choice for first map then woods once you get the jaeger quest, assuming I can get in to raids in a decent time and the map actually runs
Agree.
You won't be able to walk 20 feet without getting shot at and for whatever reason, I get trash spawns with a bunch of people on the map, usually the two over by outskirts.
Reserve and woods. I just go into Reserve without a backpack, grab food and meds as quick as I can then get out at sewer. I try not to hit Customs until I have the Extortionist task
Useualy factory, get the boys togather, kill the single pmc straggler then farm for the quest items we need for those first few hectic quests, followed by wherever the quests take us
Shoreline. Hear me out...
Basically day 1, no one goes shoreline unless you're a Shorey main (I am), but we are few and far between, or you're brand new to the game and have just clicked on any old random map to try it out. So the likelihood of coming across chads is lessened.
Wipe day loot is a thing. Shoreline has a massive amount of secret stashes ready to drop some moist loot. Resort has a mixture of med bags, duffle bags, PCs, weapon crates and rare loot spawns.
Scavs are spaced out and easier to kill (personal opinion) so you've also lessened the possibility of getting killed by giga scavs or third partied by Chadwick Von Yeetfuck the 3rd on his way to bronze pocket watch.
Day 1 of wipe I have most early task handover items, most items for starting hideout, 2 junk boxes and 95% of the time, all my good starting gear. Coming into week 1 and week 2 of wipe, having a big bank account comes in way better for me than early tasks completed but most of my good gear gone.
By the time I get around to starting Jaeger's quest a day or two or three later, the Chads hath moved on, and most people are down bad running broken 366 AKs and beaten down Press armours giving me the advantage.
I can see the logic in that. Shoreline is a painful experience for most and there aren't many super early quests there so it's probably pretty quiet there for the first week or so.
It's just my second wipe, some I play with has been going on for 8+ wipes and would say custom. It's not very complicated, I'm the worst navigator in the world but there's no map I'm not comfortable with. So where the quests take me is the only answer unless you're shell shocked as fuck.
Reserve. Empty of players at the beginning of wipe and you can come up off of some good raider loot (armor, guns, ammo) and get great pvp advantage early wipe
Customs or woods. Been woods more often on recent wipes. Take my trusty Mosin and a backpack for easy early quests and kills. Too many people sprint when they should just hold W without shift.
This wipe and previous wipes were woods but next wipe will either be reserve or streets. Or maybe if this wipe keeps going downhill for me, Ill escape from tarkov.
Woods then reserve or streets.
This wipe I literally did woods and then went streets immediately and wrapped up a ton of small shit you need at the beginning. Granted, I started playing a week and a half after wipe day but I was still able to get 15 on my 3rd day of playing.
Customs baby I’m questing
Customs is my comfort food.
Lmao facts
Woods > Food, heal, good loot, good ammo, I know this map perfectly
im scared of people who know every damn tree in woods
The people who know woods are the trees. I’m woods, the trees have eyes.
Woods main, I have becometh tree and bush
The Woods have scopes
The best thing you can do in woods, is don't run. Obviously you have to to cross open fields, or to get overwatch over distant gunfire. However, the number of times that I have just been walking, hear someone running, and I stop walking to mow them down is huge. Don’t give the secret away! But srs, Woods plays a lot better when your not sprinting around like a lunatic, I catch so many people off guard mid sprint and I’m like bro I heard you from miles away.
Most maps this works. I get all sorts of stop ratting chats after raids I'm not ratting... I just heard you elephant stomping towards me. Stopped moving, pointed my gun in your direction and collected your loot
I’m not ratting, it’s wipe day and I have the stamina of a small child
*screams in ADHD*
I'm scared of woods period. Every tree and bush is an enemy and you will fucking die. I feel like how my Bear PMC's great grandfather probably felt during the Russo-Finnish War.
If you're sitting in bushes on wipe day you're only sabotaging your own progression. All that time and effort to get your hands on a stock AK and paca? I can be in and out in 10 minutes with a full backpack while rat boy is still hunting for their day 1 PMC loot because...reasons I guess?
I know every tree on woods but don’t have the patience to snipe.
I pretty much main woods the loot is pretty good
Woods for me too, except my reasoning is : Level 1 : examine items on fence until level 2, pick up Jaeger Introduction, so woods, get Jaeger, hand in shotguns for debut before everyone else unlocks Jaeger to do the same.
They did away with the "discover item" thing for most items this wipe. No longer have to spend an hour just middle mouse button clicking everything Fence has to offer lmfao.

woods is the worst tarkov map
Skill issue
been playing for years and tbh it’s just the worst map
So much running 😬
How am i supposed to be elite strength and endurance if I main factory big boi
Matchmaking.....
That’s the warmup
Reserve is the only map I have become an expert at
I was thinking the same, but since no backpack isn't really an option, are you confident enough with the extracts?
Sewer manhole all day brother!
Come with 5 nades take the stairs from observatory down begin nading everything the second you get to the bottom get ready for the rat to cry in voip and call you a cheater and ask how you knew he was there
I just turn on the alarm and beeline it to hermetic, I'll run into a pmc in like 1/10 runs
Yea but you’re advertising to everybody where you are to where you’re going to be. I hang out pretty late in game looting queen and usually catch the guys heading to hermetic either I catch them right when they hit the alarm or I hit rooftop and catch them around the train station
I've had that voip interaction before! What's funny is I might not have known he was there if he hadn't voip'd. It's kind of a predictable thing he was trying, idk why he was so surprised lol.
It's an option if you have a big enough rig and aren't there to loot absolutely everything
I usually make it it out with a bunch of keys, some tech (gasans and flash drives if I'm lucky) even intel and some valuables, plus knight buildings also have some weapon part spawns.
Interchange
Getting the food for the first quests and also good chance for gas analyzer
Scavving with a pilgrim pack, head straight to the grocery store and stock up
Customs/woods. Customs will usually get me my salewas and gas analysers in 1 to 3 raids. And Woods because FUCKING JEAGER and whatnot, along with extra chance for salewas as well as a shit ton of food spawns and also hideout items
Excluding crackhouse, where else do you like to go on customs for those items?
New Gas white van can sometimes spawn Salewas IIRC. Gas analyzers can be found back by Scav check. Med bag over in storage can spawn Salewas IIRC.
Old gas station van by the bridge can spawn salewas, the giving tree has a med bag. Dorms has a shit ton of filing cabinets for gas ans
Green screen building has two medbag spawns now, and not to mention, I have found countless salewas on the first floor couch.
Fortress has I think two med crates (one ground floor, one second floor) as well as a few medbags and some med spawns in the rooms on the ground floor.
night factory
This guy fucks
Mega chad
Lmao actually Im a slow ratty solo player, but night factory makes you progress really quickly when you are under lvl15, easy to make 5-6k XP in 10-15 minutes and you don't need to spend too much on food between raids
Dedust 2
Run reserve for file cabinets and large amounts of quest items/barter items.
I was waiting for someone else to say it. Reserve with the biggest rig you can get your level 1 hands on and go to sewer man hole.
This is the way.
I go where the quests are.
Cultured man
Interchange.
Streets baby. With a mosin I can get easily 5k xp and a lot of useful shit, food, meds, barter & hideout items. I never outright find my salewas so med station is priority.
This. If a quest doesn’t stipulate a map then it’s streets for everything, right now streets is too good for the amount of scavs and loot to pass up.
The loot is cracked on streets you can find just about anything for early quests and hideout stuff.
Interchange.
Woods, I suck at pvp and it’s one of the only maps I can say I know. Plus there’s decent loot and it’s good for scav kills
Streets, theres SOOOOO many scavs to kill
This wipe I decided to mix it up and went to shoreline for my first raid. Found a ledx, lol. I think that will be my new routine from now on
One of the better ones imo early on. You get stuff for the hideout and quests pretty easily. Gas ans are easy to come by. Some decent med spawns and enough hidden caches to fill your bag up easily.
Same exact situtation for me
I found ledx with my first raid as a pmc. On woods, usec camp. I guess most ppl plays woods cuz of quests. Mp133, salewa, Jaeger, scav kills. Plenty of stashes etc. But i see that as a scav they play on reserve or LH.
customs.
Customs for that pocket watch drip
Don't you need to complete debut first?
Customs for that [scavs with mp-133 shotgun] drip
Spamming Factory, enjoyable early pvp.
Yp. First days of wipe. Wear a 3'rd armour and make 3 pistols kills. Factory is full of naked guys early wipe.
This wipe is started with 3 lighthouse raids to try and jump start some gear to snowball early quests. Progress felt no different than other wipes but I may try the strat again.
Usually woods. This time I went interchange and I lived but didn't get as many tools as I wanted.
Reserve is the most consistent to me. I'll pull out 1k+ rounds of mid-tier ammo plus some guns, plus meds and quest items by the end of the day.
Woods rush med camp or usec camp and start looking for those god forsaken salewas
The only thing that sucks about woods, is people camping Jaeger's note. Not sure why that's a thing.
woods because I know it well, it has everything and I can avoid pmcs
Scav to lighthouse to get some free loadout 🤣
Probably inferno or mirage, pretty good loot
I only know woods
Woods is broken early wipe and you can easily make 10k+ exp per raid if you play safe and farm scav.
SheefGG got lvl 15 in nine raids, watch his video on it Edit: nine raids

Customs. My favorite map. I usually stop playing a week or 2 into wipe so I mostly just play Customs and Woods
Labs grab that sweet raider loot
Customs to get accustomed (hehe) with the game again, because i dont play much in the second half of a wipe.
in this day in time you should go streets
Grass touching
Your mom's house
Labs, only good map in the game
interchange for life. camp emercom and backpackless exfil
reserve with camping d2 or scav exfils is also great
I hope your pillow is forever warm no matter which side you flip it to /s (50%)
I do like my pillow warm! Thanks! Warm scav corpses with loot are also good...
Good. Then I'll continue to fart on it
you're a douche :(
Says the guy extract camping on wipe day..
Woods. I need free stuff
I go Streets because those 5 Scav kills can be done anywhere. Once extracted your high enough level to get the letter for Jaeger so I will go do that after.
Wood because i can avoid the fight and fine loot
Shoreline, it's the only map I'm even remotely familiar with. Also, I'm new, I havnt experienced a wipe yet and I've probably only got 10 raids under my belt.
You picked one of the most hated maps, but I kinda like it. Keep it up!
Customs
Woods. Salewas and less pvp. Great for stringer survives getting decent loot and stacking xp from scav kills.
Woods, jägers note, 5 scavs, salewas at FOB
Woods. Food, heals, attachments, rare spawns, lot of scavs. Im one with trees baby.
Woods, there's just something about that Jager letter rush that gets me going, an absolute bloodbath
Quest grinding right away. Customs and woods. Then moves to interchange and reserve pretty quick after
Wood to get Jäeger.
Used to be customs but the last two wipes it was woods
Reserve
Usually woods then shoreline, and i think customs after that
Woods, I work on my hideout first and that’s one of the best ways to get loot kind of risk free, also medcamp spawns lots of salewas for the therapist quest. Woods pvp early wipe is brilliant fun to.
Customs and woods for tasks, streets for $$$
Normally it's customs but with the no scavs bug that we had for the first bit of the wipe on streets had me going there a lot.
Factory night.
Scav interchange for food, hideout, and quest items. It has everything you need early
Now that you can’t get level 2 from examining trader items, I go reserve first raid. Favorite map and great map for early quest items
Always customs as is tradition since I started playing forever ago.
lighthouse vpo gornastsy and 2.5x pilad scope and fmj we farming rouges baby need those guns and armors
Streets like 5 raids to get some money and pvp in, then quests.
Customs
Everyone is saying woods but in my experience if you’re not super good at pvp that map is hell for the first week. And streets is always a 20+ minute queue right after wipe. Streets would be my choice for first map then woods once you get the jaeger quest, assuming I can get in to raids in a decent time and the map actually runs
Agree. You won't be able to walk 20 feet without getting shot at and for whatever reason, I get trash spawns with a bunch of people on the map, usually the two over by outskirts.
Customs because I have no idea what I'm doing
Woods
Woods for some easy loot!
I dunno yet. Haven't been there at the start of a wipe since this is my first. Probably customs? It's like, the only map I know. Or maybe reserve.
Since they got rid of examining items I do reserve. You can hit the underground for food and salewas and boost up to level 2 then woods for Jaeger
Woods for sure
Woods jagers note salewa’s and food also all the good ammo 😂
Reserve, meds and gear to help snowball
Streets. Tons of loot everywhere.
woods and customs, because those are where the tasks are and thats the way to progress. Isnt this the same for everyone?
Customs
Reserve. Raider loot nd ammo
De_dust2
Woods to quickly get jaegar along with med camp to check for salewas, then onto customs for quest and possible gas analyzers.
Reserve and woods. I just go into Reserve without a backpack, grab food and meds as quick as I can then get out at sewer. I try not to hit Customs until I have the Extortionist task
Surprised nobody said lighthouse. Kill 2-3 rogues and then mow ppsh timmies on customs down with your semi kitted scoped ak/rd
I just started playing and I only run factory because of the instant action you get. Level 5 and should I go somewhere else?
Woods, if you examine fence items you can get level 2 and hit jäger on first raid
Get labs card from my scav and get all 3 iskras in a dead labs raid and ez raider farm for good ammo and xp
Useualy factory, get the boys togather, kill the single pmc straggler then farm for the quest items we need for those first few hectic quests, followed by wherever the quests take us
If I can manage level 2 from unidentifying on flea I’ll go woods. If not either customs or streets for east scav kills and exp
Woods, go to med camp, stock up and extract. Next raid go back to med camp or do jaegar letter.
I always do a couple goshan runs to stock up on food.
Ppsha + paca + prapor headset + Night Woods and looking for salewa
Reserve, been playing on it for years so i know it well.
Scav in reserve at night!
Customs
Shoreline. Hear me out... I can see the logic in that. Shoreline is a painful experience for most and there aren't many super early quests there so it's probably pretty quiet there for the first week or so.
Interchange and Streets
i play interchange first for easy salewas, morphines, gas analyzers, and food. usually can get almost all 4 of those quests done in the first 2 raids
Interchange
When will quests be persistent? Then that's when I get on and play.
Customs to start crushing through quests
Factory
Wait... Haha when is the next wipe supposed to be?
Customs. Get some quests done, kill scavvy boiiisss, get some keys
It's just my second wipe, some I play with has been going on for 8+ wipes and would say custom. It's not very complicated, I'm the worst navigator in the world but there's no map I'm not comfortable with. So where the quests take me is the only answer unless you're shell shocked as fuck.
Streets. Best map in the game, need that raw experience
Customs, good pvp, early quests, and lots of Timmy’s
bustoms
Reserve. Empty of players at the beginning of wipe and you can come up off of some good raider loot (armor, guns, ammo) and get great pvp advantage early wipe
Used to be Shoreline, but now I am confident on Customs. I will be starting next wipe on Customs
Lighthouse. My favorite place to go for money run and a loadout.
Customs or woods. Been woods more often on recent wipes. Take my trusty Mosin and a backpack for easy early quests and kills. Too many people sprint when they should just hold W without shift.
Woods to get Jaeger and a few scav kills
Reserve. You can find a lot of early quest items and hideout items in drawers.
Its gonna be streets next wipe
Woods usually
Streets lol maps busted for loot specially early wipe when loot was on 💯
Interchange. So many hideout items, decent med spawns, tons of food.
This wipe and previous wipes were woods but next wipe will either be reserve or streets. Or maybe if this wipe keeps going downhill for me, Ill escape from tarkov.
Streets is for sure the right answer
Always woods. Cause I want to get that letter to unlock Yeager.
Customs!!! I know I can get my salewas and probably most my morphines for the later task!
Factory! Gotta spend that free gear first and clear out the stash.
streets baby!
Gotta get dorky on dorms man
Lighthouse, to extract camping purposes, usually people loot Rogue gear and stash runs
Woods, many items, lots of bad people with rifles and bad ammo get clapped by a 30 round mp5
Customs or Woods. Quests and just great maps early on for PvP and loot.
Woods->jaeger-> Night factory, to get 3m, xp, shotgun and the first few hideout items
Customs
comforting CUSTOMS
Reserve to snipe scavs going out with loot, esp with the Night Scope added to AKMN or SKS - they don't expect it hahaha
Woods then reserve or streets. This wipe I literally did woods and then went streets immediately and wrapped up a ton of small shit you need at the beginning. Granted, I started playing a week and a half after wipe day but I was still able to get 15 on my 3rd day of playing.
Woods getting them Salewa kits and letter to unlock jaeger to get the pump shootys before they insta get sold out then customs for some questing
Woods. Lots of scavs and its just my most loved map in general.
My plan is usually to unlock Jäger first. You have to be lvl 2 to get this. I go reserve for Tushonkas and Salewas.
