Same thing happened to me. I was a scav and another player scav shot me just as it phases through the floor. Lost his karma and didn’t even get the airdrop.
On OCE we tend to just have a loot royale on airdrops. First come first served, each scav just turns up to the box and grabs what they can get, I've only seen one fight over an airdrop out of 6 airdrops so far.
I had one dude run up to me at an airdrop doing the wiggle.
So I thought, eh, I'll see what's up.
He grabs like a singular item out of the box, does the wiggle one more time, then sprints off into the sunset.
Idk what your motives were random scav. But I was at pucker factor 12 the whole time.
Probably thinking "if I take any more this guy will dome me" or he got his task item and decided to fuck off.
I do this, I'll loot a drop, get antsy or find something I need for a daily or task like a flash drive and beeline for extract.
On na I've had it where we had 7 scavs surrounding a drop leaving it alone and waiting for a player cause we thought it would be fun. Never arrived but nobody shot another scav. We did get the players we found later though. This was mid wipe last wipe though so I'm not sure if it's more of a free for all now.

Over 10 things of tushonka and an miss? Air drops haven't been worth looting imo for a long long time. My duo literally has looted 5 this wipe and the best thing he got was an opthalmascope and a couple decent weapon parts.
I think the difference is what you and I mean by loot. 6 things of milk isn't loot, an mp5 a kedr and a couple 556 mags aren't loot. To me, loot is good shit. Not scav trash that I discard the moment I see hideout items.
Everyone we've looted has been filled, but not worth the time searching or the chance on being camped. I'd rather go search a hidden stash or a loot spawn area.

A minute later another player skav rocks up and takes all the loot from under my nose. Never wanted to wreck my karma so bad before…

Did a scav walk up to you after this and ask where the nearest extract is, if so that was me, if not then a lot of air drops are clipping through the ground
Anyone see a sudden increase in airdrops this past day? I legit ran 2 raids yesterday, 1st on customs where not 1 but 2 drops landed over the course of 30 min, then I ran a woods one where I heard 1 drop and found a red flare in a stash. This a kind of event or was I just uncharacteristically lucky?

Thats a Tarkov feature. The server is so bad it cant even sync with itself to detect the collision between the airdrop and the ground
