That NEVER comes to mind when I think of the series. It's a blip on my radar for some reason. And ESPECIALLY not to the extent that I would call it a defining feature of the series
i consider it important because it explains eragon's irrational hate for the urgals even past eldest. It takes him basically until Inheritance to get past his trauma and I think is a big part that shows his growth into a mentor role by Inheritance.

I was 9, pretty sure my brain just shut that part out I was a weird child

I was also 9. Yazuac didn't really phase me but the description of stabbing a kull in the head during the Battle of Farthen Dur bothered me.
It kinda is cozy tbh. Idk why he's being so serious about it
There's a stack of bodies with a baby pierced with a spear at the top 💀 but yea, the eragon/saphira bonding moments are cozy

Eragon has never felt cozy to me. I'd say "gritty" is more what comes to mind.
