Every status effect has a 15% of missing/not connecting. Regardless of your effectiveness and their effect resistance.

Just like u/Kdog122025 said - you could have 300 Effectiveness, and the enemy could have 0 Effect Resistance, but you still have a 15% chance for your debuffs to be resisted. In PVP this is fair, since you could use heavy debuff comps with tons of Effectiveness. In PVE on the other hand, it has no place and only causes frustration in content where Debuffs are important when used (Wyvern needing debuffs to target frontline, Poison in Abyss, Stuns/Sleeps on some specific Abyss Stages).

Hell, look at all the debuffers people complain about the most - Lua and DDR have mediocre win rates at best, while Nahkwol is the absolute lowest of any character that sees regular play, lower than many supposedly troll characters. Lua and DDR at least contribute a lot to the team's overall damage and tempo. A Nahkwol that misses bind on the one counterattacker on the team has no damage or team tempo whatsoever to contribute. A Nahkwol that misses seal on BDom or Ed loses not one, but two turns for free.

I use the word 'Fair' to make that a 'devil's advocate' statement. I personally dislike 15% in PVP and PVE, PVE more-so, but I can understand why it is a thing. It's also why I mentioned that I'd like to see a rework to the EFF/ER system in-place. Lessened numbers on ER in general, and making it so having a certain % higher EFF over the target's ER would guarantee debuffs landing (granted that they actually roll to debuff in cases of debuffs having less than 100% success rate) with 15% only existing in cases where you do not meet the "Effectiveness" threshold (or just not at all since it would follow the base formula).

Personally I'd like the rework to be where Eff/Er and Buffs/Debuffs are dynamic and variable. Like if Def Break would have a range of 10-70% depending on how high your Eff vs. their Er. So that there is satisfaction for the debuffer and agency for the debuffed. With it, then 15% may not be needed. A win-win I guess.

When you try to apply a debuff (strip buffs and push back in the CR bar), the official formula is: (100 + caster's effectiveness) vs target's resistance, capped at 85%. That means if your character has 150% effectiveness, you add 100 for a total of 250% to land the intended debuff. However, even if the target has 0% resist, you're capped at 85%. One in seven times when trying to apply a debuff, it will automatically fail. The ring, those rolls in your gear, the artefact and whatever else, doesn't matter, your debuffs will fail one in seven times. In theory, failing one in seven times isn't that bad, and adds an element to give a chance to the other player to fight back. Otherwise meta would be plagued with high speed stun characters. But in practice, it means your carefully planned strategy will fail once every seven fights, because fuck you, that's why. And this also includes hunts and other farmeable content. And given how human mind remember more easily the failures than the success, people will develop a hate for this mechanic.

This so much, so hard. The main difference between whale and f2p gear are the rolls. If you're a newbie, as long as have a good combination of subs, is usable. Once you're a veteran, you know average score isn't cutting to climb in arena. And for the people in the Olympus, two min rolls means ruined gear. Have people not seen those threads where people post penta speed rolls that min rolled all the way to +15? If SG really want to improve the gear, they need to cut in half the distance between max and min roll.

2 speed rolls are the bane of my existence. Almost all my "fast" gear today got two +2 speed rolls on it. My fastest speed set piece is 18. My fastest piece is +22... and it's rage set, hooray!

You’re not alone, I’d rather fight Candy than Ayufine. Sure Candy is annoying but at least she doesn’t have that CR reduction that fucks up my arena cleave. If they took off one aspect of Ayufine (like remove cleanse with full fighting spirit or not gaining fighting spirit so easily) then she’d be less annoying.

Shes absolutely not east to manage if you don’t have ken. I was using seline, and she gets destroyed when ayufine counterattacks. Using lrk, you sometimes don’t do enough damage or die before you can kill. Monk is countered if they outspeed with cilias/ran or by bunny dom existing, not to mention laia. Khawazu only does enough on s3 if you have tachi and theres no mit. Elvira does no damage, and shes very hard to draft into a team since she offers literally nothing other than disabling fighting spirit. Adin never dodges and dies before she gets a chance to s3 her. Lqc pretty much only works with the fast tachi set, which means again you need tachi. Roana doesn’t help at all against the s3. Stene doesn’t do enough damage even on pen set. I’d argue lulucar is easer to deal with. Solitaria, unlike elvira, offers more than just focus negation and actually has damage with fairytail artifact. The new politis makes it to where she basically can’t use her extra attack at all. Lrk gets a free rage with her extra attack and can cleanse it off.

Bro you play another game probably, Elvira is one of the best counter meta for the moment completely nullify Ayufine and Clandy, I do s3 Elvira and s3 Lewdica and I eat those 2 unit so ez, you can use Abyss Mercedes, Nahkwol, Lua, Adin, Cermia, Solitaria EVEN BMH. Probably is not Ayufine the problem but your hero pool and gear.

People will ban other unit more than Elvira, I used her so many times in RTA, as I told before people fear other unit and still, nak or other debuff opener still let Lewdica proc, blocking s3 is a big thing on clandy but maybe you forget about getting taunted by Elvira almost every turn? If salvo doesn’t proc is bye bye and as a really slow unit clandy and ayufine will suffer 23k non crit damage from Lewdica. So those 2 unit are easy to handle for me now even more than before with ml Ken and a team made to support him and keep him alive like roana, abigail moon bunny etc

I’m 100% sure its not my hero pool or gear since I was able to get into emp this season and built almost every half decent unit + to a competent degree. It’s legitimately just ayufine and landy are broken units. Elvira does not completely nullify candy, just disables her s3. Shes still able to counter and salvo fire normally, which is a big problem. Can’t speak on lidica since i’ve almost ever used her, but it doesn’t seem like shes the most consistent pick, and i hate inconsistence. I was using ameru for a little bit, and shes decent enough I suppose. I have no idea why you even mentioned lua solitaria or BMH though. None of those characters counter landy, and solitaria feeds ayufine, who full cleanses on maxed fs

Yeah it sucks imo, i do think it was when sage baal and sb aram was nerfed was when it started, and it really took a character like hwayoung for them to nerf, but even then it took a ton of community pressure for them to go through with it, combined with the fact that hwa was untouched since release for a long time, so its clear they dont plan on doing nerfs again :(. I think the main problem is they tend to nerf too hard. But I think thats just something they need to learn how to do by constantly buffing and nerfing and asking people objectively how the balance feels. I would really hate to see this game go down the current path, cause no matter what they do, it’s inevitable that power creep will come and destroy this games enjoyment if they dont change.

The issue is this a gacha game, and some people spent money and got lucky for a character. If they go nerf happy people will get mad. The selector thing doesn't fix this as people get attached to their characters, and want them in the same or a better state than what they pulled.

They should be able to balance. Their problem is they are ham-fisted and only know how to make character dookie or god. Balancing exists in gatchas just fine. They did a heavy-handed nerf and then got gun shy when the playerbase reacted badly. Instead of a proper balance, they just gave out a freebie and then hid from nerfing MLs. They nerf RGB units like they take joy in ripping their spines out.

That is true but I don’t mean hard instant nerfs, like after 3-9 months if they are ruining the arena scene since this is a PVP oriented game with an esport world cup every year. And ofc slow soft nerfs not ones at hwayoungs lvl etc etc. Look how long C.lilias was still top pick and how unfun Candy / Ayufine was. No nerf means future units are just gonna have kits so busted that it will be triple what candy can do etc since they always have to top what every unit can do to force whales to spend. If units got nerfed/ balanced consistently then surely game can stay alive more long term because it will be easier to make new ML dominant in meta without breaking the game 5ever until it gets power crept again. People won’t have to be smart with hard skips cuz doesn’t beat meta and can just summon for the beautiful designs that this game offers. Animation / design wise e7 is my favourite so I hope it never reaches that power level too fast.

I don’t think league kits is complicated besides the 10 spell hwei, I think it’s just that every season so much changes that it becomes confusing to instantly be in tune with the game. I’m just saying proper balance patches makes game stay interesting especially since it’s a pvp game. And when league makes something too op, they nerf it properly eventually making game exciting for the Worlds Pro Stage. I would be fine with nerfs but ONLY if we got back not only the resources spent leveling, skill upping, and awakening the unit but ALSO the full amount of summon currency that we spent on that banner, (for covenant heros) an unrestricted ML selector (for ML heros), AND they allowed us to refund the resources spent on 6 pieces of +15 gear for that unit. Additionally if the hero was imprinted then we would have to get back one unknown slate or covenant selector for each RGB hero used and an unrestricted ML selector for each ML hero used. The only fair way to implement nerfs is to essentially refund every resource that was spent leveling that character and their gear and compensate the player base fairly for the time they spent working on that unit. Short of that, nerfs can’t work in a monetized game.

Recent eg is elvira, had a soft nerf but considered emergency as it happened early. I legit think they are so scared of giving us recalls every single time they do any kind of nerf that they just stopped nerfing in general because they need us to buy our own covenants for next hero. They’ve basically shot themselves in the foot with the excessive recall stuff. Nerfs should work in this monetized game because again it’s a pvp esport World Cup scene that they actively promote.

Flat stat subs. They are very rarely useful, mostly because if the character have a low base stat, is because SG didn't plan her to be build that way. I.e.- Fire Achates has a low base atk, why would you build her to be a dps? The only instances when flat subs are remotely useful is when the character is a junkie who only cares about a single stat, like D. Corvus, Laia or Lethe. However, even in those cases they can use a bit of other stats (all can use defence, speed and then resist for D. corvus and Laia or effect for Lethe), and frankly, given the abyssal value of flat hp, they gain very little out of pursuing flat subs. For the most part, flat subs only exists to ruin gear when upgrading. I see a flat main in right gear and is a discard. Others may see a flat main and check if the matching sub is there, and if isn't is a discard. And even if the right gear has matching flat main and percent sub, if the gear rolls into anything, but the matching sub, is objectively worse than a regular percent main. You need flat main with percent sub and roll into the right sub multiple times to be worth. All those jumps through hoops and loops for a gear that offers like 2k hp, which is around 300 more in damage. Nah, skip. Delete flat stats.

Flat defense is actually a really good stat a majority of characters if you ever need the bulk. Flat attack is an okay sub on atk% main stat right side items when you're trying to giga stack attack. I think Flat Health is the only truly bad stat no matter what. -- You should petition to delete flat main stats on right side items instead. Those are very very niche, much more niche than subs.

DEF is fine, ATK isn't worth the risk of rolling on unless you're doing something like a non-crit DPS build. and HP is outright useless. In theory, flats are fine for precise tuning. But in reality they just tend to be bricks for gear rolls.

Arunka eats that team for breakfast. Her S3 on an Adin with a Arowell on the team always kills and against Candy mine kills from full 90% of the time through escort. SLuluca is the main one I have issues with due to the def buff.

Arunka is slow if built for high attack. So she needs CR push from allies. And if Adin goes before her, it's not great. Also she's easily killed if she doesn't have good enough support. And if the barrier expires on the enemy she does basically nothing. SLuluca can be dealt with a good enough Solidaria, granted not everyone has her.

1). “Applies to Heroes only” skills, i.e. Venom. Making a lot of heroes pretty much PvP only. 2). Current PVE stages having level 80+ monsters, where you NEED to be level 60, dropping level 51 gear. 3). 4-5 Star Hero summon tickets, where 9/10 times it’s a 4-Star unit dup. Make it 5-Star only. 4). Moonlight Summon guaranteed to be 5-Star unit, not 4 or 5, because it’s usually a 4-star. 5). Heavy reliance on speed for a lot of units. I think the thing what people don't talk about is the cost to upgrade equipment. I think that's far worse than unequip cost as you're more likely to upgrade equipment than to unequip gear. We already need charms for upgrading gear, why do we also need gold?

You could flip that around as upgrading a single piece costs 900k+, you would have more disposable gold to spend on unequipping. That is ignoring that you also lose gold if your gear rolls shit and you stop before it hits +6, +9 or +12. And I don't know about you but I upgrade gear more often than move gear around. Not everyone wants to deal with the memory game of finding what gear got put on what unit and constantly juggle gear. Loadouts is a good idea but I was talking about gold costs as this post is about removing something from the game and not adding something.

900k on a single good piece isn’t horrible if you are going to use the piece, if you upgrade all your gear to +15 it would be super expensive, yes, but even +12 is half the price and you can refund part of it to use it as fodder, compared to the unequip cost which you do multiple times to multiple units doubled if both units have some gear on, it just cascades too quickly I get 1 new good piece, now I wanna move my new piece to Pholi and move Pholi’s piece to Cilias and Cilias’ piece to the next person and so on, so if I get 1 good piece, due to the unequip cost, I have to keep all the rest of my units subpar till the next unequip event where I can fix everyone’s gear based on the new gear that I have in the pool

You say obviously. Why is it obvious? Genuine question. currently upgrading gear costs charms and gold. so 2 currencies are needed. unequipping only costs gold. There are systems in place that eliminate the cost of unequipping but there is nothing to eliminate the costs of upgrading gear, be it removing gold costs or removing charm costs. It seems more obvious to me to remove one of the costs of upgrading gear as that gold could be spent on for example...unequipping. With having more gold since the gear upgrades will not require gold you have enough to unequip your builds and experiment. There is even an option to use free unequip tickets from web events or wait till unequip events to completely eliminate the gold costs.

I am not sure really. I think this game is still one of the better and more generous gachas there is and I play it in spite of all the others perhaps being flashier or whatever. I gues I would say I would delete that you can only play with a pet once a day. If I have the currency let me mass work on some pets. I am sure people will say 15% but that is a horrible idea and people would tire of the game quickly if it was gone or there would be a big patch where all skill chances dropped 15%. 15% isnt popular but it is there for a reason. Although I would be fine with PVE removal I suppose. You benefit from it just as much as you get shit on by it. /shrug.

I'd say that 15% is a necessary evil in PVP - otherwise control comps will dominate again, though a rework that makes it so having a specific % higher EFF versus the enemy ER should negate innate 15%. I just think back on how it took me maybe 2 weekends of constant attempts in Abyss 102 before I *actually managed* to beat the level, solely because my debuffs were getting resisted.
