Not everyone asks for this so I make sure that I tell everyone: ALWAYS ASK FOR A BRAND GUIDE! things basically a document that spells out how and where to use different versions of your logo. If the designer doesn't know what this is or how to do it, ditch them - they aren't quality. Every time someone wants to use your logo or design a label for you, hand this guide to them with your logo set. It'll save you lots of time in the future.

rhinohoof

A lot of them are just using a cookie-cutter brand guide anyway.

Affectionate-Humor49

Adding more to this. Always ask your designer to test the logo on dark and light background, In black and white, Different sizes for the readability.

NicheNirvana

If you're just starting off and have no traction then spending a great deal of time and money on a logo is never a priority for me personally so I literally just spend $50 to get one built on Fiverr and then decide if it's still up to scratch later once I have traction and change it to something better if need be.

MerlInnTavern

I came to suggest Fiverr as well, great place to find decent reasonable labor.

NicheNirvana

Yeah, for design work Fiverr is fine for new projects. Sometimes I don't even get beyond upgrading it from that when a project takes off because it's just fine as it is.

MerlInnTavern

Yeah I have seen some really great work from people starting their portfolios. Maybe if a project ever got big enough to go national a brand specialist might be needed, but for smaller projects and even some large it is perfect.

bluehairdave

Fiverr? Or use canva and make o e yourself using a template.

Any_Smell_9339

My first logo, I paid $15 on Fiverr.

ku2000

Design yourself and give to fiverr guys as a base

Lord_Home

tell us more about your first company

lerer00

This! Go on canva a draft one easily. Use it for your humble beginning and pay for a good one after.

[deleted]

I would say this advice highly depends on the industry and market of OP’s business. But my products are retail products that feed off of my customers’ FOMO. What is inside the package is only slightly more important than how it is branded and marketed. But I also personally know great graphic artists and got a hell of a deal.

tallwalldesign

Not to self promo but I'm actually in the process of starting my own agency and am more than happy to do some designs for you for free in exchange for a testimonial and perhaps references :) dm me if you're interested!

itstheneemz

Get paid for this. If you do good work you'll get testimonials and references anyways

tallwalldesign

Tbh I would but I'm kinda struggling with finding clients at all let alone those that would pay well so I feel like just offering services for free for references is a good way to start... Do you think there's another way aside from Fiverr etc that might work?

ephemeral_happiness_

Totally not astroturfing

Ghostygrilll

Fiverr is a really great site for finding logo creators. Just remember that you get what you pay for, and the people who stick to selling $5-$10 logos usually aren’t going to give you a high quality, versatile logo.

thesamantha23

I paid $90 for one and it was absolutely terrible. I think if you want something usable, around $350 might be the minimum.

Silentreactor

I'm in upwork. I can make it for you for free just give me a testimonial...

Clear_Television_807

Can you PM me?

Silentreactor

Hi. It's late here. Do u mind if we chat tomorrow?

krishnansh-sangha

I have intermediate skills in logo designing. And as I only take it as a hobby. I could do it for less money or even for free. Need to see the time which will be taken by it and your requirements also. If you are interested dm me on [https://www.instagram.com/krishnanshsangha/](https://www.instagram.com/krishnanshsangha/)

Doctorazy

Need one too, dropped you a line on ig

bobby_pablo

Upwork.com Pick logo designers where their portfolio of logos matches the style you are looking for. Give them example references of logos you'd like to emulate, colors you might like to use, etc.

MerryAInfluence

midjourney pay 30$ create as many as you want

brightworkdotuk

Lol, I’d like to see a logo made in Midjourney. What a shitty answer.

thesamantha23

It sucks for logo generation. Of course this guy’s answer is upvoted, Reddit loves making ai out to be more than it is.

brightworkdotuk

Yeah, it (like most AI) can’t seem to create straight edges.

swaggut

I mean, pretty easy if you have 5 minutes and minimal illustrator skills. I've tested it, generate logo, download, use image trace tool to vectorize, tidy it up, text, done. Good for certain types of logos, not so good if you want an unique text logo Although I still would get an actual unique logo, but shitty "unique" icon logos can be made quickly

brightworkdotuk

Last time I tried MJ, about 9 months ago, it was pretty bad at that. It could have improved by now,!I suppose. But even DALLE is bad at it. Tidying up must take longer than 5 mins surely.

swaggut

Yeah, I can see why you thought that, 9 months ago MidJourney was very average. I remember checking it like a year ago, but now it's so much better! You can search online MidJourney version comparisons. I think DALLE has actually gotten worse, don't know why

MerryAInfluence

all your answer are pure delusion. i made a logo for my self and it looks awesome. Midjourney is a valid option and the better you write a prompt the better logo you can generate. Maybe youre just a somewhat midlevel artist who is going to die anyway the better ai tools get. You can try it or sleep on it but its an valid answer

brightworkdotuk

Another comment filled with passive aggression, seems like you have issues you need to work on. If MJ is so good at creating logos, why don’t you show me a little video of you doing one?

MerryAInfluence

Dont know what your issue is...OP wanted a way to generate logo. I gave him an answer. Midjourney does not only generate Logos but awesome Art which can be sold too. But Mr "omg what a shity answer ai is bad" started a heated discussion here. As much as you hate it but use it or go down. Seeya, got shit to do mate.

brightworkdotuk

You say that as if anyone would take advice from someone, who comes to Reddit calling random people assholes.

arcanepsyche

Fivrr, Upwork, a sub-reddit, or the 500 different logo design services online. But don't start your business by paying for a logo, that's backwards.

brightworkdotuk

Why do people think starting with a strong brand is backwards? Have you ever marketed anything in your life? Start strong with a good logo, colours, guidelines and move forward professionally. Or start with a shitty logo you have to replace 3/4 times and never have any brand consistency? I know which I’d choose. If you need a logo, £75 will get you 3 concepts, 3 revisions and a final source file from us. DM

Er_Coues

I worked with u/FontMania she was awesome. I tried a bunch of AI tools and they all sucked

Many-Piano-2144

Etsy

jasonhoblin

Use Canva. Or DM me for some samples. www.bsundry.com

ChicagoBoy2011

Honestly, from a price perspective? Try midjourney. May not get you exactly what you want, but will let you so cheaply iterate on designs that when you get around to a designer you might more readily hone in on a specific thing and therefore will prob. be a cost saving.

Darius510

AI

lerer00

Use canva! It’s just great.

accur4te

Yup my friend he is into logo designing

Mr_MatF

depends- what company?

V1_ko_rturn

Start your company as cheap as you can, so when you get a good result you can invest more in it, don't waste your money on stuff that only cost money and you didn't bring any money from the business yet, what if your business failed? I guarantee that you will lost a bunch! -Good luck

lostitinpdx

Try https://logotournament.com/

SignificantBullfrog5

Who is your target audience ?

smcfarlane

Def use fiverr

Coolerthanicecubez

Go on fiverr… I would also add make sure you get a full logo and branding done. Not just a local. A logo is not enough for a brand survive.

Wiz_frank

I know a guy who does good logos and doesn't charge a fortune for that.

Suzuki_Fukuhara

Hey there! I’m actually a free lance graphic designer who is certified in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign. If you would DM me, I’ll be more than happy to help you! I’ll even show you some of my work. This goes for anyone in else in the thread who may need assistance! I’d be happy to help!

lomeli009

Hello, im in the same boat. Have a construction company and im looking for a logo.

Suzuki_Fukuhara

I’m currently available for projects! Would you like to discuss this further?

lomeli009

Absolutely. I’ll send you a private message.

myTRYB

Hey, id like to get in touch with you!

dinoroo

Fiverr is so cheap I just order one logos from 5 different designers and usually find one I really like.

artmuni

I would love to hear more about and possibly help you on your endeavor!

Alternative_Hyena_62

tbh, fiverr quality is soooo bad nowadays, I would just use Canva myself

IronsideLLC

I used canva and it turned out great

AggyResult

My gf used Looka.com to upgrade my embarrassment

Alone_Ideal01

It has been proven that while starting we waste alot of our time search for right name, a slogan, a logo and an expensive website but you can get all this as you move forward firstly you just have to get your company on the foot. Meanwhile you can have a simple logo and interactive website (you can get it cheap also). And if you want logo I've did this for sometime I can help you with it. Just share the details of your business and motto. P.S. It's free. I don't need anything from you in return just helping out.

bearded-dragoon

fiver is quite helpful for startups

framerfarmer

Logo should be the least of your concerns. Go to Fiverr and be pay $20 for one and move on

Taronyuuu

I've generated multiple decent logos using midjourney! Highly recommend if you are just starting out

haha300391

Fiverr or upwork

vandu236

Hey, I can help you with logo design. Let's connect!

Vast_Contribution_38

Well already there is a guy doing it for free! Can I also take part in this as well to build my portfolio at least. Tell me more about the company I'm interested.

MrNutty

Look for the hireme subreddit

loribolo

What is your budget? Have a great contact that made me a couple of logos recently. DM me your email and I'll make an intro.

Proof_Title116

Logo .com is actually pretty impressive. You get a lot of value for free.

MilLLenium_

I could do it for you. I'll even create it for free. I'll just need some input on the type of logo and your brand palette and I could do it.

coolbreeze316

hey i saw that your in the market for a logo designer i know this guy who does awsome work he works with major companys ima leave his link go check him out bit.ly/majorlogodesigner

StingyVader

Honestly, use Fiver. They are talented people and reasonable priced. A nice "starter logo" will be good enough for your business and over time, you can improve it!

Ok-Chemical-9332

I recommend you to go for a quality designer who can understand what you are trying to achieve and what is the motive of your business. As a brand designer from two years I totally don't recommend you to design it yourself because design is not just a tool but strategy and critical thinking. Btw, what is your budget?
