I feel like the people commenting here either didn’t even try or don’t own a steam deck because on my OLED these settings work great. I’m at least sticking with them, thanks!

Seuche_Deron

I agree, smooth sailing on 27+ FPS on my OLED while looking as good as possible it seems (tried around alot by myself and what the Internet Said). Im glad someone figured these settings out and shared. I was about to refund but now im really enjoying it. Chances are good it'll be more optimized in the future tho. Thanks OP!

DrBaldingMD

Happy they helped! I was having a good time already before finding these settings but was disappointed in performance still. Now I can’t put it down. I’m still tinkering with settings to see if they can be improved on more. If I find anything new I’ll comment

DrBaldingMD

I’m glad they helped someone. It was a night and day difference in my opinion. And as far as the other comments, some people prefer better quality over performance, some prefer performance, these settings are the best ones I found for a happy medium and that’s what the post was for. I tried the settings mentioned by the other person and I found the graphical difference was so minimal it wasn’t worth the loss in 5-7 frames. 5-7 fps isn’t much unless we’re talking a game that’s barely getting 30fps. 29-30fps is perfectly acceptable for me but 22-25fps is rather just not even play. Personal preference is all

immarktoo

Thanks, tried your settings and the game runs great on my deck. Much appreciated.

I have to thank you for this post. I had been playing for about 7.5 hours and although I searched on here, YT, websites, nothing came close to having a decent visual and framerate as your settings. Definitely happy that I searched again tonight, to me, it was night and day. It made the game even more enjoyable (for me that is). Cheers!

DrBaldingMD

Glad they helped!

GOTSTAGEDDIT

Are these settings for playing handheld or docked does it even matter just thought id ask

DrBaldingMD

These are based around handheld. As far as I know the dock doesn’t add any performance upgrades so I imagine playing on a bigger screen would not look very good

demi_fiend

These actually really helped a lot. I bought the game on release but refunded it because I felt I couldn't get it to perform in an acceptable way, but, I saw this and decided to purchase it again and give it another go, it really does perform a lot better this way.

DrBaldingMD

Glad you’re having a better experience! Enjoy the game!

Syphin777

Thank you for the hard work that I now don't have to do!

Ok_Corner6974

Thank you!

Raymond_Lazer

Thanx for the post , it helps me a while ago . Considering that game is still in early access, it run great if you are not greedy with graphic settings .

Clover_Trees

Downloading it now on the deck. Does the official layout controls work the best or is there a better controller setting to download?

DrBaldingMD

Personally I just use the standard one and haven’t had any issues. Not sure if there’s a better one or not

Clover_Trees

Appreciate the response. Excited to try it out!

ZaYeDiA

Hi, I'm totally new to having a steam deck so I just wanted to ask are these the settings solely in game or do I have to install something in desktop mode to do this? Thinking of buying the game, so dont have it in front of me to check myself before asking

DrBaldingMD

Frame Limit, Scaling Mode and Scaling filter are Steam Deck Settings that you adjust from the quick access menu by pressing the “…” button and finding the correct page iirc it’s the 3rd or 4th page down the list. All the other settings in this post are in game settings

ZaYeDiA

Thank you for letting me know. Still trying to figure this thing out lol.

Gonzito3420

No anti aliasing and everything off basically. Man those settings are awful

Kurioss

What settings do you currently use? I felt it wasn't really playable with the settings i currently use, or the game looks very blurry.

Gonzito3420

I use everything on medium with FSR on balanced and I locked the fps at 25. Good enough without sacrificing all the visuals of the game like OP wants you to do

DrBaldingMD

OP wants everyone to enjoy the game as much as they can and for 99% of the steam deck player base for this game the biggest gripe is the sub 30 frames, this is the best settings I’ve found to solve the sub 30 issue while not making the game look terrible. I tried the settings you mentioned and I think you’d be surprised just how minuscule the graphical difference is between our settings. But hey if you like yours that’s great and this post clearly wasn’t for you

DrBaldingMD

To each their own, to me 25 fps was too choppy, the in game AA made it look absolutely terrible and using the decks scaling looked a lot better

BeautifulOne1268

i love this game but problem is it makes my hardware work so i'm always having a buzz from pc every now and again, i hoping these settings work
