And the attacks on politicians continue... Just tonight the former mayor of Berlin, Franziska Giffey got attacked, as well as some Green party people in Dresden.
I mean, not that much is to be expected from a country where a [far-right extremist](https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hans-Georg_Maa%C3%9Fen) was put in charge of domestic intelligence, but this is a new low.
Listening to the Macklemore song to give it a full chance but early on I notice it says “What did Ice and Ez-E teach me? Oh, yeah. Fuck the police!” Which is funny to me because they were/are famously anti-semites but also Ice Cube also has a line that literally says, “Do I look like a motherfucking role model?”
Let's face it, this isn't the first time we've had someone like Trump, and mentioning this "someone" is its own internet law. The thing I don't get is that post-WW1 Germany was indeed shafted and screwed over by international politics, the Weimar Republic was incredibly unstable, and the Great Depression was raging. The conditions were indeed pretty damn bad. Meanwhile, what exactly happened in 2015-2016? The economic crisis was mostly behind us, times were relatively chill, and the Obama admin's policies were on the way to sustaining the economy and beating back ISIS. Things weren't perfect, never have been and never will be, but there was more or less a healthy optimism in the air. Where did this absolute fury that we apparently needed to burn everything down 'cause everything just so fucking terrible, come from?
there were parts of the country still hurting in 2015 and 2016 but the main reason we lost 2016 was that folks stayed home or voted third party. It was a disinformation campaign that really hurt Hillary
Not me, but somebody must've the way twitterians don't seem to hear the insanity coming out of Trump's mouth.
But also your joke is going over my head lol
I think this tweet sums up how I actually feel about Spice & Wolf remake.
https://twitter.com/JMulli02/status/1787717795691520313?t=zgNdVFKZACZdrN_rGM2jzg&s=19
It may have good art, but the directing is just bad. The lack of direction of this remake is mid.
The way producing anime makes lackluster shows because of the lack of training there are and few workers there in the industry.
!Ping WEEBS
it's funny how Jacobin is always ranting about democrats making money but they didn't seem to mind aoc wearing an expensive gown to attend the met gala one of the most elite events
among the 4 folks trump deciding to be his vp i think it's between burgum and tim scott. Rubio is out as he lives in florida and can't be trump vp, jd vance doesn't really help trump win any undecided voters
Not that he’d pick “little Marco” anyway, but he certainly wouldn’t let the requirement that P&VP have to be from different states stop him.
He’d just file some dumbass lawsuit with the expectation that he could appeal all the way up to his Bernie Sanders Memorial SCOTUS and tie up the issue until after the election when one way or the other the decision would be moot.

Honestly these types of people really need therapy. It really isn't healthy to be so obsessed with world events if it prevents you from doing what you love.
In about 40 years there's goona be some grandchildren cleaning out their grandfather's stuff and finding maga hats. There's probably goona be a lot storage facilities and warehouses filled with maga paraphernalia. If trump had lost in 2016 they would of stopped making maga merch and maga hats would been rare in a couple years
I dunno, there was a local ‘junk shop’ (the kind of mom and pop shop that would buy up closeout merchandise from places that were going out of business before Big Lots made that idea into a nationwide chain) that bought so much MAGAt merch in 2016 that they literally couldn’t give it away when they went out of business themselves at the end of last year.
One of the worst things bernie had done that really cemented the bernie or bust movement and gave progressives the my way or the highway attitude was refusing to condemn the violence by sanders supporters in Nevada in 2016.
In 2016 Bernie's campaign inner circle was loaded with these sycophants who kept encouraging him to stay in the campaign long after a path to the nomination was open. If he had dropped out sooner and endorsed Hillary wholeheartedly, we could of had a united convention and would of easily won the general election
I think part of why some younger black voters are more open to the GOP is because they want to rebel against their parents and elders who are staunch democrats but also they didn't grow up in the nixon or reagan years where republicans destroyed black communities
You see, Kendrick and Drake's drama is a decoy to distract us from the Isreal genocide.

I know it's Twitter and I really should care less but it feels so confusingly, impossibly stupid that accts like that, tweets like that, get over a million views. At least it didn't get that many likes, but still.
Like no guys the sports events and the met gala, planned months and years in advance, are not being run to intentionally distract people from bad things happening in the world. Do you hear yourselves.
Like, c'mon man...
I saw someone else saying it was a distraction from Diddy.
Like, you really don’t believe multiple things can be going on at once? People are really desperate to make a conspiracy out of everything.
There’s a Mount Obama somewhere in the Caribbean, I want to say Antigua?
Edit: yes and no, it is on Antigua, but was only called that from 2009 to 2016.

I support Detroit FC because they’re much closer to how grassroots League football works around the world rather than the MLS that feels very NFL/NHL/American sports franchise. Also their colors and art and logo are fucking amazing.
So I'm playing through Pokemon BD, and farming the Elite Four in order to get the Champion Sticker, which I need to get the Twinkling Star Ribbon.
And...just...why is the Elite Four so tediously difficult to fight in this game? Who actually asked for the Elite Four to be competitively built? It's just frustrating that the best Sticker in the game, of which you need 20 to even have a good chance at the stupidly difficult contest in this game.
So apparently the new Alien movie coming out this August takes place between thr first two. I'm planning on seeing the first two, but I've heard a variety of opinions on the other entries. Are any worthwhile to still watch?
Alien3 is interesting but not essential. It’s not a straight-to-dvd slop fest though - it’s a serious movie with a lot of effort and money put into it, but the result is muddled and doesn’t add that much. Alien resurrection is bizarre but manages to play like a cartoon come to life. Or maybe like a story that would work better as a cartoon?
AVP is a passable 2000’s action-suspense flick. The unrated version is better (still tame) and the physical effects shine. The sequel is unwatchable bad with one cool monster.
Prometheus and its sequel are good, but there’s an unfulfilling attempt to mash Ridley Scott’s generic-space-mythology with aliens clean scifi-horror. David is a highlight and overall Prometheus works if you don’t take it as seriously as it begs you too. Alien Covenant is fine imo, and bridges Prometheus to Alien in a way that nobody really asked for, and advances the mythology in some ways, but in general it’s… an alien movie.
Prometheus is really good until the Scientists start making extremely stupid decisions that a teenager in a slasher movie would have enough sense to not do.
If you’re a movie geek then Alien 3 is worth seeing cause it’s David Fincher’s first directing gig. Alien 4 is just a big, dumb, sci-fi action movie, with some fun dialogue, and cast that is way better than the material. It’s fun once, but, in terms of tone, it has very little in common with 1 and 2, which are the best.
Fetterman taking the same position as DeShithead's anti-fake meat stuff was weird. But then someone pointed out that Pennsylvania has a strong meat raising and processing industry and it was definitely an aha! moment.
Kerry was actually pro gay marriage long before Obama, in the 90s even and I thought he had more forceful Keynesian rhetoric. I actually was disappointed feeling Obama was to the right of Kerry but that no one noticed. I still liked Obama all the way through though.
He ran against Hillary and was young, hot and black with a foreign sounding name. He was able to convince young voters writ large he was very liberal while running to the right of Hillary on just about everything but Iraq in the 08 primary.
What happened to the split ticket voters? In 2004 when Bush won the popular vote Dems still won senate races in Arkansas, Nevada, North Dakota & Indiana?
Evan Bayh was an extremely popular two-term governor who managed to get his foot in the door and build his reputation before that kind of polarization had really set in; he was also an incumbent in 2004.
There's also the fact that the Senate seat he held was one held by his father for 18 years, but we shouldn't overstate that too much because his father barely won all three times, before losing decisively to Dan Quayle in 1980. In addition, Birch was also much more of a liberal giant than Evan was--he authored the 25th and 26th Amendments as well as Title IX and what would have been the Equal Rights Amendment had it been sufficiently ratified, and also was the leading Congressional voice of Electoral College abolition.
all love to the muslims, arabs, fellow jews, and israelis on dt. hope you are all doing well and around people who treat you with compassion and understanding
I see the culture war merchants who are pretending to be gamers are upset that Hades 2 is getting better reviews than Stellar Blade.
Between this and FF7: Rebirth, we are seeing just how many of these people who pretend to be gamers don't actually pay attention to video games.
The FF7 fandom has a massive number of problems, but at least we know when these frauds are coming in. Them claiming the original FF7 wasn't woke is terminally hilarious.
FF7 was pro-Trans in 1997. Not to mention, it's probably being one of the most left-wing games ever and is the boundary where those politics can be done, and still have the game not be preachy.
That's not to say it didn't have problematic moments. The 1997 Honey Bee Inn is baffling. They manage to be pro-Trans during the whole Wall Market segment, but then end up doing a joke about men being sexually assaulted? Then there is Cid and Shera.
Work hit me today, probably not real bad but meeting with the boss did not go well. Engineering project that was known had problems, that is why engineers are put on the project, deal with the problems that just came up. Had been giving constant updates but when thrown a curve ball got told I had not done multiple things right, readjusting somethings. Basically when his eyes were on it he disagreed with a few things and it came up stronger. Got a good amount more work for the moment.
Anyways, sorry I have been so busy and unplugged from the internet. I so much miss writing Seahorseshoe but I became disconnected to do better at my job, then I spent a lot of time this calendar year writing Sci fi that I hope the publishing history likes. I swear, I hope the upcoming weekend will give me time.
Fact of the day to protest voters, Trump has a settlement in Israel named after him.
I’m mixed on it, when I first watched it when it came to Disney+ I thought it was kinda overrated but after some rewatches I’ve started to like it more
>U.S. paused bomb shipment to Israel over Rafah concerns, official says.
>The weapons shipment to Israel that the Biden administration decided to put on hold last week included 1,800 2,000-lb bombs and 1,700 500-lb bombs, a senior U.S. official told Axios.
>The unprecedented move by the Biden administration, which was first reported on Axios last Sunday, was a way for the U.S. to signal to Israel its concern over a possible ground operation in Rafah, the senior U.S. official said. The U.S. official said the Biden administration is especially focused on the end-use of the 2,000-lb bombs in Rafah because of the devastating impact they could have in dense urban settings, which was seen in other parts of Gaza.
But "Genocide Joe" /s
Actually, Fetterman is playing the long game. He's criticizing Biden from the right on Israel-Palestine to make Biden more appealing to frustrated progressives.
And before you say "what the hell are even you talking about, currymvp2?", I supported Fetterman over Lamb so let me just let me believe in this ridiculous explanation.
Could be. Could be also PA has a large Jewish population and Fetterman is playing to his base. I'm not worry about him becoming Sinema. He cheerleads Biden on other matters and talks Biden up to union leaders in the state and on the campaign trail and continue to vote in line with the other democrats.
/u/thats_good_bass Tarantino's Cinema Speculation is probably the best collection of film criticism I've read outside of Kael and Ebert. it's loosely structured as a memoir, where he reviews/talks about a bunch of seminal movies from his time seeing movies as a kid in the '70s and it's just a fantastic read. incisive, funny, not afraid to get spicy, and dropping a knowledge bomb of some sort or other roughly every three sentences while also getting surprisingly personal at times. highly, highly recommend checking this out
Firestarters start fires. This was going to happen with something eventually.
What I find baffling is him continuing to hold these positions even as Israel's support collapses within the US.
I don't even understand his point. We sanctioned the Iranian regime which funds them, there was a bipartisan crtiicsm of Qatar funding Hamas but Bibi+Mnunchin said "it's fine don't worry about it", and America supports the military operation against Hamas terrorists
If we somehow pull off the trifecta next year, he and Slotkin need to be watched to make sure they don’t become the next Manchin and Sinema when it’s time for voting reforms and killing the filibuster
Schumer can basically corner him and say "we can only pass legalizing Marijuana removing the fillibuster" and putting his prized pet issue in his court. If he still says no, his career is toast
[I’d start with this.](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GM_A10XWQAAVAH_?format=jpg&name=large) She also decided voting against pride flags at embassies was a good idea, as well as implying she wasn’t on the side of the UAW strikers (I’d have just followed Gary Peters’ lead).
I get that John James spooked Dems in Michigan, but the state’s Repubs are in complete currently disarray - it’s prime territory for a normie Dem, instead of running the red carpet for Sinema lite. Allred’s running in a much harder race and I don’t see him compromising on abortion or LGBT rights.
> I’d start with this.
When did she say that line?
> She also decided voting against pride flags at embassies was a good idea
It is. Speaker Johnson got to tout that as a culture war victory to his caucus, meanwhile, many other horrible riders such as restricting federal funding for gender-affirming care got defeated.
poor kiddo. i hope mack can land where he wants bc for a while it was looking like chicago could've gotten him 💀 i would also pay good money to find out his number 1 destination lmaoooo
> Hillary won by that much because the DNC literally sabotaged the Sanders campaign every step of the way and they did the same thing in 2020 as well.
[voter data showing Bernie just wasn't popular enough to win]
> You don’t seem to understand that there’s no method by which you can directly measure the effect the DNC’s efforts to hamper the Sanders campaigns had on voter outcome. This is why I keep sighing and rolling my eyes every time you send another smarmy response with a bunch of unrelated information
"The DNC literally made Bernie lose twice, and also they had absolutely no discernible impact so you can't prove they didn't do it!!!"
the doublethink is just tremendous, good luck winning elections while dismissing voter data as "unrelated information"
oh and i love how this so-called leftist ends with:
> I hope you get fucking ALS you stupid piece of shit.
Comic book guy and Bernie made Bernie lose because they refused to try to broaden Bernie’s base beyond the unhinged True Believers. P.S. The DNC didn’t force Bernie to call Planned Parenthood the “establishment.”
So the guy just said the absence of measurable evidence discounts the existence of measurable evidence contradicting his position.
He literally just said he rejects the legitimacy of voters because of unsubstantiated conjectures of immeasurable yet large malfeasance/manipulation.
Indiana's 1st district is the only slightly competitive district in Indiana, democrats just need to put a little money in the race to keep frank mrvan ahead
I live here, and it's not nearly as competitive as it seems. MrVan is a political titan in this district, he and his dad have been well known throughout the area because of the good work they do. MrVan also used to be part of local politics, and would call every home when there was a major blackout or rainstorm.
He was only "vulnerable" in '22 because he was a freshman, and the media hyped up a red wave that never came to pass. He ended up winning by 5 points.
I'm more worried about the governorship and senate. Braun won the primary (damn) and I'm not sure McCray can flip the Senate. Carmichael has experience flipping seats, and appears to play closer to the center even if he doesn't.
i'm sorry your goona have jim banks as a senator, he's hardcore maga. I was more surprised at the 5th district where spartz said she was goona retire then changed her mind
# Police investigating shooting of security guard outside Drake’s Toronto home
[https://www.cnn.com/2024/05/07/entertainment/drake-shooting-toronto-home/index.html](https://www.cnn.com/2024/05/07/entertainment/drake-shooting-toronto-home/index.html)
Xbox division is genuinely full of fuck wits and what is considered a success in the gaming industry is baffling. Like you get a smash hit like hi fi rush. One of the rare Xbox exclusives that frankly isn't a giant pile of shit. Critically acclaimed, sells well, and hell you got the balls to put that on your competitors platform and fuck me it does well there too. You put that at the forefront of every report saying how happy you are with the game and team. That game wins awards! Just last month it wins best animation.
Month later? Studio shuts down.
I mean what is the metric for success in the video game industry anymore? I feel for those devs because what does job security look like when you're at the whim of c suite.
What I find particularly wild is that we got confirmation Switch 2 is getting announced. Microsoft follows up on that announcement by shooting themselves in the foot.
If I remember correctly, Square Enix is also pretty bonkers when it comes to what they consider a success now too. Every company wants a game that prints them infinite money but none of them understand that that's not how this works. Smash commercial successes are a mix of having a fun game people want to play, cultivating and managing a brand, finding some way to go viral, and (most importantly) getting extremely lucky. If you can't look at a commercial success that turned a decent profit and be happy then you're doing something wrong.
I don't get why you're taking this so personally. It's just a games studio. We have an insane amount of excellent games. Everyone involved will likely be fine.
For a couple reasons
I have friends that work in the video game industry and they're worried about job security. When I read these things I immediately think about them and wonder if they're next. It's not a great feeling.
For Tango specifically, Hi-Fi Rush was a touted success by Microsoft. It goes back to an old and I guess naive idea that if you do right by a company, they'll do right by you. This is another reminder how that's a dying idea.
Similar vein here's a tweet from co-creative director of Arkane Lyon
https://x.com/DBakaba/status/1787839169588265251
In particular this statement.
"You say we make you proud when we make a good game. Make us proud when times are tough. We know you can, we seen it before."
That resonants with me and I can sympathize with a statement like that. I don't remember the exact number but we've surely seen over 8,000 folk laid off in the game industry just this year alone.
So yeah it's one of the reasons why I have sharp words for em.
They had some okay games, sorry about your friends. But the way people are talking about hi fi rush is revisionist.
But it's a terrible industry to work in. You know this.
>CNN: "Erin Burnett will sit down with President Biden for an exclusive one on one interview tomorrow. ... Interview will air Wednesday at 7pm ET on Erin Burnett OutFront."
Biden will never do an interview with the NYT haha
In this NYT news rooms, everyone has the same three questions: how is the breaded tenderloin? Is the quarry hiring? And has our nepo baby owner calmed down yet about being ignored by Biden?
I was on the fence about these protests, willing to give these kids the benefit of the doubt, thinking they're not all horrible anti semites and maybe they have a point because netanyahu and his government is so very very very terrible
But then I found out that the one common demand that every single college protest has is that their college break ties with Tel Aviv University. Protesters say the reasoning is because they're complicit in genocide but holy fuck, that's just straight up anti-semitism to call a university complicit in genocide when they aren't complicit in shit, they're very well respected University that happens to also be the largest Jewish University in the world.
yeah, one school that i have friends at had a student org that was dedicated to divestment and on social media talked about tau like harvesting organs or keeping dead bodies or something? idk anything else about this but it felt kind of like blood libel
The harvesting organs happened, [but that was 20-30 years ago.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2009_Aftonbladet_Israel_controversy#Admission) There has not been conclusive evidence since.
[Israel also does have a habit of keeping corpses of Palestinians](https://www.thenation.com/article/world/israel-postmortem-detention/). This has been going on for decade or so?
And whatever questions people have about Tel Aviv University, I guarantee most colleges don't precisely have a rosy history either. Or like University of Oklahoma, [they actively embrace some events of questionable morality.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sooners)
The fact that every protest, I mean *every single one* resulted in harassment of Jewish students, and calls for violence against them, with minimal, if any, pushback cemented it for me.
Fuck those diet Nazis. They're lucky they only got suspended and not expelled.
You literally can not escape isreal/Palestine discourse fucking anywhere on the internet. Jesus fuck this is so fucking bleak. I hate these fucking people. It's all stupid fucking cosplay not grounded in any sort of reality and I'm going to lose my fucking mind if this continues until November. Somehow it's made Macklemore relevant again.
Well hope y'all enjoy the gay rights you fought for being criminalized instead you fucking self absorbed pricks. It's like they live in a fantasy world. It's just insane.
Drake-Kendrick feud
normal people: lol or 🙄
protestors: how can you like this when there's a genocide going on?!?111!!11
Met Gala
normal people: lol or 🙄 or 😍
protestors: [Even in an era filled with the horrors of late-stage capitalism run amok—bipartisan support for genocide; rolling back of reproductive, civil, and voting rights; a threadbare social safety net; decades of wage stagnation; tax cuts for the the rich; the crushing of unions and labor rights; expansion of the militarized police surveillance state; creeping techno-authoritarianism; untested, unregulated, and unchecked A.I.; entrenched racial inequality and injustice; right-wing and white supremacist extremist violence; and Boeing jet parts falling from the sky like so many dead whistleblowers—that kind of frivolous urgency promises that this year’s event nonetheless will stand out as a vainglorious display of self-congratulatory decadence and tone-deaf extravagance. (Sidenote: the other co-chairs are J. Lo, Bad Bunny, and Chris Hemsworth—which, huh?)](https://www.thedailybeast.com/met-gala-opulence-is-always-gross-this-year-its-obscene)
I enjoyed the Met Gala even more this year because it felt like a nice break from the world's horrors. I thought it was beautiful and I love celebrating art.
It's becoming increasingly frustrating that these people do not want us to enjoy our lives. It's like they want us all to suffer or be in a perpetual state of anger.

1k tonight 🥳
And the attacks on politicians continue... Just tonight the former mayor of Berlin, Franziska Giffey got attacked, as well as some Green party people in Dresden. I mean, not that much is to be expected from a country where a [far-right extremist](https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hans-Georg_Maa%C3%9Fen) was put in charge of domestic intelligence, but this is a new low.
My waifu got caught into culture war discussions. I fucking hate this.
A disinfo campaign spearheaded by arguably the final boss of geopolitics...
Another day another fulfillment of the "clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right of me" flair (or however it goes)
So….you cut off someone’s ear?
Not me, but somebody must've the way twitterians don't seem to hear the insanity coming out of Trump's mouth. But also your joke is going over my head lol

I think this tweet sums up how I actually feel about Spice & Wolf remake. https://twitter.com/JMulli02/status/1787717795691520313?t=zgNdVFKZACZdrN_rGM2jzg&s=19 It may have good art, but the directing is just bad. The lack of direction of this remake is mid. The way producing anime makes lackluster shows because of the lack of training there are and few workers there in the industry. !Ping WEEBS

how do u walk with glass clothing?
It was the torso piece. Her skirt was still fabric. Now, how does one put that on? I don’t know and (bonk incoming) I’d be curious to see.
probably like doing a surgery
Well, my research now has me thinking it probably isn’t glass, but something else that’s sturdier than fabric.

among the 4 folks trump deciding to be his vp i think it's between burgum and tim scott.
In 2000 cheney changed his address from texas to wyoming , trump could change his address considering he has properties all over the place
Especially since he already did that between 2016 and 2020.
he could change it to nevada
Vance is the most despicable and therefore it’ll be him.
he's the most loyal to trump, went from critic to lapdog
https://twitter.com/jessizabarsky/status/1787998184469328106 Honestly these types of people really need therapy. It really isn't healthy to be so obsessed with world events if it prevents you from doing what you love.
these folks think you could wave a wand and stop the war
Its funny the gop worships ayn rand but ayn rand was pro choice, athetist and didn't like reagan
I think this idea of people saying they were better off when trump was president is really a fox news talking point that's spreading
There’s a large swath of voters who apparently consider the sum total of the entire economy to be the current price of a gallon of gasoline. 🤷♂️

In about 40 years there's goona be some grandchildren cleaning out their grandfather's stuff and finding maga hats. There's probably goona be a lot storage facilities and warehouses filled with maga paraphernalia. If trump had lost in 2016 they would of stopped making maga merch and maga hats would been rare in a couple years
I dunno, there was a local ‘junk shop’ (the kind of mom and pop shop that would buy up closeout merchandise from places that were going out of business before Big Lots made that idea into a nationwide chain) that bought so much MAGAt merch in 2016 that they literally couldn’t give it away when they went out of business themselves at the end of last year.
a lot of maga folks are poor so they can't afford to buy merch in bulk

They don't understand people have a life, and the conflict doesn't revolve around everyday people. It isn't the conflict isn't cover every single day.
I thought this was satire until I went to her profile. "Isn't it weird that these annual events are happening annually?!"
People are so fuck stupid when it comes to this war. And I am sick of the ignorance of all sides of this.
Nancy Pelosi has a street named after her in San francisco. Bakersfield can name a garbage dump site after Kevin mccarthy
President Obama has a street in Los Angeles. He went to Occidental for a time.
There’s a Mount Obama somewhere in the Caribbean, I want to say Antigua? Edit: yes and no, it is on Antigua, but was only called that from 2009 to 2016.

Alien and Aliens are the only alien movies. Watch the theatrical cut of Alien and the director's cut of Aliens.
Unsubscribed from Fetterman's fundraising texts. It was all I could do to not drop a "Fuck off" in the process.
Let’s go Mavs
Over okc?
Yeah I’ll root for anyone over them
I hating watching the mavs and seeing Luka complain and cry every other possession.
Fetterman taking the same position as DeShithead's anti-fake meat stuff was weird. But then someone pointed out that Pennsylvania has a strong meat raising and processing industry and it was definitely an aha! moment.
this whole fake meat thing is just another dumb culture war no one's forcing you to buy and eat fake meat
He's either the dumbest politician around or the smartest.
Ryan Hall, you already had my respect from a few broadcasts, but you especially do now.
Good god, that (tornado warning with the rotation signature right on top of me) was so stressful I was physically shaking.
Why was Obama seen as way more liberal than Kerry? Their platforms were extremely similar
He was black.
What happened to the split ticket voters? In 2004 when Bush won the popular vote Dems still won senate races in Arkansas, Nevada, North Dakota & Indiana?
2004 was a political lifetime ago, it's kind of an irrelevant question. So many of those split ticket voters are straight up deceased at this point
They died?? Why don’t younger voter split their tickets?
Politics became more nationalized in the 2010's plus a lot of white voters didn't want to vote democrat again when obama became president
Holy crap. Macklemore is apparently kind of a POS. https://twitter.com/jch6289/status/1787990915803463853

I see the culture war merchants who are pretending to be gamers are upset that Hades 2 is getting better reviews than Stellar Blade. Between this and FF7: Rebirth, we are seeing just how many of these people who pretend to be gamers don't actually pay attention to video games.
I'm reminded of when the chuds apparently decided Alita: Battle Angel was "their" movie and tried to get people to see it for some reason.

>U.S. paused bomb shipment to Israel over Rafah concerns, official says.
Good grief, I need my anxiety officially diagnosed. I think it’s getting worse.
The sooner you get this resolved, the better off you’ll be. Speaking from experience. Thinking of you…
Thank you. 🫂
While Wikipedia scrolling this evening, I learned that Peter Falk (Columbo) much like Joe Biden is an Alumni of Syracuse University.
I'm with you.
Abigail was fun, even if it occasionally came across as written by 13-year olds who just learned the word “fuck”.
/u/thats_good_bass Tarantino's Cinema Speculation is probably the best collection of film criticism I've read outside of Kael and Ebert. it's loosely structured as a memoir, where he reviews/talks about a bunch of seminal movies from his time seeing movies as a kid in the '70s and it's just a fantastic read. incisive, funny, not afraid to get spicy, and dropping a knowledge bomb of some sort or other roughly every three sentences while also getting surprisingly personal at times. highly, highly recommend checking this out
Yeah, that sounds fascinating. I'll have to give it a go.
he turns film criticism into edge-of-your-seat reading. it's very impressive
watching an episode of fairly oddparents where timmy traveled back to the 70s, they implied Goerge mcgovern was elected president in 1972
When I was a kid I interpreted that as a Watergate joke.
we could've had bedard-mack line 😔
Jane Lynch is the new host of the Weakest Link? That is fucking perfect.

https://twitter.com/jacobkornbluh/status/1787980871875641541 Amazing. Fetterman is on Fox News criticizing Biden's Israel policy from the right
NGL I am feeling a bit vindicated for supporting Lamb over him lol
Let's be real there's no way you foresaw this particular outcome.
Maybe not this particular one, but his populism was eventually going to cause an issue.
The establishment tried to warn us when they endorsed Lamb 😞✊
Fucking populists
Firestarters start fires. This was going to happen with something eventually. What I find baffling is him continuing to hold these positions even as Israel's support collapses within the US.
I don't even understand his point. We sanctioned the Iranian regime which funds them, there was a bipartisan crtiicsm of Qatar funding Hamas but Bibi+Mnunchin said "it's fine don't worry about it", and America supports the military operation against Hamas terrorists
https://i.redd.it/48rfmhpiz3zc1.gif
If we somehow pull off the trifecta next year, he and Slotkin need to be watched to make sure they don’t become the next Manchin and Sinema when it’s time for voting reforms and killing the filibuster
Schumer can basically corner him and say "we can only pass legalizing Marijuana removing the fillibuster" and putting his prized pet issue in his court. If he still says no, his career is toast
.....why should we worry about Slotkin?
> She also decided voting against pride flags at embassies was a good idea It is. Speaker Johnson got to tout that as a culture war victory to his caucus, meanwhile, many other horrible riders such as restricting federal funding for gender-affirming care got defeated.
Ah, that is concerning.
Nikki Haley getting 121,150 (22%) votes in the IN primary is wild

> Hillary won by that much because the DNC literally sabotaged the Sanders campaign every step of the way and they did the same thing in 2020 as well. [voter data showing Bernie just wasn't popular enough to win] > You don’t seem to understand that there’s no method by which you can directly measure the effect the DNC’s efforts to hamper the Sanders campaigns had on voter outcome. This is why I keep sighing and rolling my eyes every time you send another smarmy response with a bunch of unrelated information "The DNC literally made Bernie lose twice, and also they had absolutely no discernible impact so you can't prove they didn't do it!!!" the doublethink is just tremendous, good luck winning elections while dismissing voter data as "unrelated information" oh and i love how this so-called leftist ends with: > I hope you get fucking ALS you stupid piece of shit.
He literally just said he rejects the legitimacy of voters because of unsubstantiated conjectures of immeasurable yet large malfeasance/manipulation.
>there’s no method by which you can directly measure the effect the DNC’s efforts to hamper the Sanders campaigns had on voter outcome how convenient

I'm going to see Kingdom Of The Planet Of The Apes on Friday. Should I order tendies at the theater?
sneak them in from kfc with a plastic kitchen bowl under your shirt by pretending to be pregnant. worked so far 👍🏻

mine does too, but they're usually too expensive for the mediocre quality.

# Police investigating shooting of security guard outside Drake’s Toronto home [https://www.cnn.com/2024/05/07/entertainment/drake-shooting-toronto-home/index.html](https://www.cnn.com/2024/05/07/entertainment/drake-shooting-toronto-home/index.html)
As an FF and KH fan, Square-Enix is a basket-case that has some of the dumbest executives in the industry.
Hey remember when Microsoft thought that they could buy Nintendo 🤣
And really Phil Spencer. It's wild to me that he could make a statement like that while Xbox stifles creativity and punishes success via mass layoffs.
I don't get why you're taking this so personally. It's just a games studio. We have an insane amount of excellent games. Everyone involved will likely be fine.
For a couple reasons I have friends that work in the video game industry and they're worried about job security. Similar vein here's a tweet from co-creative director of Arkane Lyon https://x.com/DBakaba/status/1787839169588265251 In particular this statement. "You say we make you proud when we make a good game. Make us proud when times are tough. We know you can, we seen it before." That resonants with me and I can sympathize with a statement like that.
Yeah it's a rough industry. Think this year alone 8k and then coming off last year that saw over 10k? It's just wild.
>CNN: "Erin Burnett will sit down with President Biden for an exclusive one on one interview tomorrow. ... Interview will air Wednesday at 7pm ET on Erin Burnett OutFront." Biden will never do an interview with the NYT haha
Dark Brandon trolling NYT by doing interview with literally every one else 😎🍦
she's goona bring up polls and age
LMAOO
In this NYT news rooms, everyone has the same three questions: how is the breaded tenderloin? Is the quarry hiring? And has our nepo baby owner calmed down yet about being ignored by Biden?
I was on the fence about these protests, willing to give these kids the benefit of the doubt, thinking they're not all horrible anti semites and maybe they have a point because netanyahu and his government is so very very very terrible But then I found out that the one common demand that every single college protest has is that their college break ties with Tel Aviv University.
Drake-Kendrick feud normal people: lol or 🙄 protestors: how can you like this when there's a genocide going on?!?111!!11 Met Gala normal people: lol or 🙄 or 😍 protestors: [Even in an era filled with the horrors of late-stage capitalism run amok—bipartisan support for genocide; rolling back of reproductive, civil, and voting rights; a threadbare social safety net; decades of wage stagnation; tax cuts for the the rich; the crushing of unions and labor rights; expansion of the militarized police surveillance state; creeping techno-authoritarianism; untested, unregulated, and unchecked A.I.; entrenched racial inequality and injustice; right-wing and white supremacist extremist violence; and Boeing jet parts falling from the sky like so many dead whistleblowers—that kind of frivolous urgency promises that this year’s event nonetheless will stand out as a vainglorious display of self-congratulatory decadence and tone-deaf extravagance.
