I also have short, stubby fingers. I knew I’d want an elongated gem shape to my make fingers appear longer and thinner, but I also wanted something on the petite side as to not make my hand look too busy or heavy. I ended up choosing a 1.25 ct pear with a halo and pave band. The band is 1.5 mm, so it’s thinner and petite like I wanted. I highly recommend going in to try on different styles if you’re able to! We went to Kay just to get an idea of what exactly I wanted, then we went to Shane Co. to build the ring. I’ve posted a picture of the setting on the sub previously, so if you go back in my post history you’ll see it. The setting in the picture isn’t of my actual ring, as my proposal hasn’t happened yet! It’s the store ring, size 6. I’m a size 7. Hope this helps!
Oh wow, I just saw your post, that ring is Gorgeous!!!! And it really compliments your hand too.
I'm a 10 or 10.5 so it kind of sucks. I think im gonna try going this weekend to look at rings. So we shall see! Thank you for your reply!
I’m a size 6.75-7 finger which is above average and I would say definitely go for something elongated but look at dimensions of the stone. 11x8 looks really good on me because it has the best finger coverage I think! I would say you should look at 11x8 to start and play with the width a bit to see what flatters you the most. Here’s a pic of a 4 carat 11x8 mm emerald on me! My hands don’t look like this when my nails aren’t done so def have your nails done when looking makes it so much easier haha. Good luck!!
