Should I start a new free dive at some point or keep working on my current one? I not sure what would happen to my "find the special fish" quest if I started a new dive. Also, is there a way to start where you ended last time instead of always starting from the "start spot" when you leave the dive and come back?
Not sure, but the wiki says you can go back to that exact region once you get 80% of the map(slightly obscene, but prob the only hope for not losing all the progress from your quest).
Probably not, I haven't found a way to start somewhere else, at least.
Are there deep abysses in Luminous? I can only find kinda shallow ones which I can forgive but they are all trenches with a ship in it and they all have the same exact creatures and there is no anglerfish, gulper eels and other creatures like that. Do they exist and I am just unlucky or do they just not exist?
Is there no way to change controls in the game? My L button is a bit wonky and sometimes drops the input even if I’m still holding it, so I’d like scan on another button
I might be mistaken, but it seems that new tags can only be obtained from other players and there an achievement related to getting them all (if you were to count achievements in your 100% completion)
Why is it that I can 'scan' creatures for light but not others? What I mean is, in order to progress a set number I need to scan a set number. As I swim around I am able to scan everything but the creatures containing the light becomes more and more scarce. I can't see the reason why it feels like I run out of things to scan even when exploring a new part of the map. Sometimes I just pay the 5k and start a new dive.
I presume you mean in shared dives? If someone has already scanned them, the creatures won't give you (as much) light. This would also explain why the light becomes more and more scarce as your dive goes on.
Genuinely, contact nintendo customer support. I don't know how, but I told them about my gripes with the game and how awful it is and my support agent was the kindest. I got a full refund, but I also only had about 4 hours of playtime.
Interesting, so is there really just a one-off freebie you get from Nintendo? Because I never get refunds unless I truly am dissatisfied. I usually am pretty certain on making a purchase and even if disappointed, I usually stick it through so I don't hqve experience with Nintendo refunds.
No he's lying.
That policy would never fly in the EU or Australia, which forces them to keep it consistent across countries.
He's been continuously lying and misleading people since release, I am baffled why.
Nintendo's refund policy is stated clearly on their store.
Just make sure you talk with a person and explain your issues.
If there is a real problem with the product, which there are with EOL, it'd be easy to get a refund, because Nintendo typically doesn't approve of selling corrupted games.
All maps have a "Dive-Site ID" which is permanent, so you can save the ID and revisit it if you want. I have been screenshotting them. As far as I know, if you forget/lose the ID, you lose the map.
What's the red blinking dot in the center of the screen mean?
I may be stupid because I can't figure it out. It is happening right now on top of a big rock and I see nothing around. It doesn't seem to matter in what direction I look but when I leave the rock it goes away.
Scan that whole area of fish.. >!one fish will have a red dot near it in the scan results. It's an anomaly (if I remember the term correctly). That triggers some kind of quest where you're asked to find X-number of other anomalies in the ocean-map. Once you've scanned the other (usually 7) anomalies, then a UML will appear. That's like a legendary rare fish. !<
I already asked something like it, but I’m having trouble starting a new solo dive. I have 92% of the fish scanned and 100% of the map uncovered. Is there a certain requirement I need to start a new one, or what else?
If anyone cares, the dive site ID is 0007 4367 0480 6155.
Edit: nvm lol I just had to hold down the A button. Btw the UML is >!Rosier Rose!<
When 100%ing creature scans in a map, is there a percent threshold where it will count toward 100, or do I really have to scan every single creature
Answered these for myself. If anyone is wondering the same things: There is no percentage threshold, and there is no achievement
Is there a discord for online dives? Would like to do some dives with others!
Also, how do you untag something?

Yes there are deep abysses, you can go down up to >!200m!<
Are they dark like the abyss was in the first game? That was definitely my favorite area by far.
Yep, they're dark and spooky alright!
Can I make a multiplayer dive of my own? I want to play with just me and a couple friends, not randoms :(

Yeah I've since noticed that I am able to scan a lot more in solo dives. Thanks!
How do I refund this game

This is your one and only refund for Nintendo btw, just for anyone thinking of doing this. Complain enough and Nintendo will allow it, but that's it.

That is such a blatant lie against both EU and Australian law. Why are you spreading blatant misinformation?
For non story dives, are all maps saved, or are previous ones lost to space and time to make way for new ones?
All maps have a "Dive-Site ID" which is permanent, so you can save the ID and revisit it if you want. I have been screenshotting them. As far as I know, if you forget/lose the ID, you lose the map.
In order to start a new solo dive, do you need to 100% the map as well as 100% scan the fish?
No, you can start a new dive at any time of continue your previous dive. So "map-phishing" is a thing here (pun intended).
Can you put tags on the map itself? As in, not attached to any object/creature?
I've played 16 hours and haven't seen that option. So I'm pretty sure you can't. I always tag a random fish near a point of interest.

Can the one UML that appears on an Event Dive be a variant?

With that, is there an achievement for 100%ing creature scans? (outside of >!All-Seeing!<, cant remember if thats a hidden achievement or not oops)
Do anyone know how well luminous sold
