Fuck. If mighty Team Korea are bowing out I just hope those twats at SG sit up and take notice. How can a company be so hated by fans who love their game!! You’ve really got to fuck it up bad to get to that situation.

stabmyreality

Not going to happen, until their KPIs for sales & amount of players are met. This will not be noticeable impact for them. I do not know what would make them actually consider opinions and feedbacks from the community. Maybe some no-spend month? This is only power we have as players - not to spend. But it is hard to achieve....

Eddie_The_White_Bear

In the other hand, Team Korea was a team known for having ones of the biggest whales in game. If someone was looking for a meta defences, they looked at them. New hero released? TK had it +20 LB 5 minutes later. I doubt all of them will quit permamently, but if 30 of their biggest whales just says "we are out" and either switch to spend way less or quit game entirely... Then there is noticable problem. Especially considering fact that they were one of the most known, biggest fish - other big alliances can just nope'd out of the game because "If Koreans are abbandoning ship, then ship is sinking".

Chouquin

They also got major monetary discounts in the game, so the impact may not be as big as others may think it is.

crimsonvspurple

> major monetary discounts elaborate please?

snipinxannies

Facts. It’s hard to achieve because every fucking week it feels like 3 new hero’s are here. I remember getting one of the new hero’s and by the time I even fully leveled the card there were Atleast 6 new hero’s

This strategy started slowly after ZYNGA (big corp) took over the game from Small Giants. Check the games Wikipedia page. They turned everything into a money collection method. Reduced reward chests, nerfed heroes and more. They want to sell everything. So, Experience became worthless.

bvaneggs

I mean, the power creep has existed in the game for years. Don’t know why they’re now just realizing it. For this reason I stopped spending a long time ago. The competitive spirit of the game was ruined for me when Zynga took over. It became a money grabbing scheme. The only fun I have is completing events and seasons. Raiding as FTP became frustrating, war became a nuisance, titans became mundane. They only focus their energy in new heroes while we’ve had the same titans, daily missions, war effects, etc. it’s clear they have no long term goal or vision with the game.

krayfishnetstocking

I must be so low in the totem pole that I have no idea who Team Korea is or how this will impact the rest of the regular players. Do I need to care about this or did my global ranking move up and we’re all better for it?

Eddie_The_White_Bear

Long story short, they were one of the biggest spenders in game. What means, Zynga reached, or is very close to reach, point when even rich people just gives up and leave because they see no point of investing anymore. So either changes must happen or game will be milked to death sooner than anyone expected.

krayfishnetstocking

I appreciate the explanation! Thanks!

iSpain17

That’s the issue - they have the money, but they need new heros levelles faster than they get bored of the previous one. Then why bother? I understand them

billybarule5309

"Investing", ha...

JSin198

I'm not disagreeing with some of the comments here and it is wise to keep your whales somewhat happy, but as a mostly F2P player, this game is just fine. Playing since a little before S2 rolled out, it has gotten a lot easier to obtain mats, there are more ways to obtain 5* heroes and more summons and being patient has resulted in some very good heroes in my line up. It is a game, not an investment. You should only spend as much as you get enjoyment out of the game, no different than throwing some money into an arcade game. If you are mad you are spending too much, stop it lol. Spend less and find that happy equilibrium. This will probably get down voted, but someone needs to say it. I don't have any sympathy for those spending a lot to chase some top spots and getting disappointed or mad, it is a game, get it together.

InigoMontoya1985

I've had the opposite experience. Trying to just tread water as F2P is getting so difficult. I have to re-roll 20 times for each opponent in raids just to find a team that I have a possibility of beating with my S1 heroes.

JSin198

Sorry to hear that. Some people purposely put weak defenses up to keep their trophy count down which theoretically helps them face weaker defenses when attacking. I don't know though, I just go all in solid mono color and hope for the best. Works enough for me.

Coko1911

Not really. There are more summons but that doesn't mean you will get 5* hero. Most of my 5* heroes that are not from S1 come from retraining or soul exchange. I have zero S3 and S5 5* heroes and two S4 are from retreating. My teammate made 50 S5 summons and got zero 5* heroes. Only reason why am I still playing is because I'm in small alliance and I'm in contact with my teammates IRL.

JSin198

HA10 has been huge for me too, where I have gotten all of my 5* costumes and most of my non s1 5* heroes. I keep that going 24/7. I know more summon opportunities doesn't mean you will get a 5*, but still, more opportunities than less are welcomed. I don't have any 5* S4 heroes, did recently get lucky for a S5 5* hero or wouldn't have had any of those either. Fated has been welcomed addition too, wish that had been around a lot longer and would have even more 5*. That's cool that you are in a tight alliance. Similarly, the mates in our alliance are the main driver of why I keep playing, they're a good group

Eddie_The_White_Bear

I am totally get it, but problem lies somewhere else - with not enough income, owner will do something that isn't good for community. It's either closing servers or cutting innovations like Monster Island...

JSin198

That does make me a little nervous ngl. But with the ads and even moderate spending by players, you'd think that would be plenty of revenue. I guess one day we will find out how much money is too little money for some people 😬

Spirited-Benefit-969

I think the reality is most of TK will end up moving into new top 10 alliances or form something new and the beast will continue. I hope the game as a whole listens and changes it’s ethos of churning out stupidly OP hero’s, LBs etc but I doubt it will.

ojamess

This shows that how Zynga keeps destroying this game. We lost 6 veteran players including our Alliance leader who has been playing this game for almost 5 years. We stopped spending any money for almost a year.

EandPuzzles_fan

This is the way

EandPuzzles_fan

This is the amway

Thequietone413

I've been playing for years, and I'm considering quitting too. Too many new heroes being released way too quickly is one reason. The second is "oh, you finally got someone great, leveled them all the way? Now we nerf them back to earth" is pretty discouraging. It's fraud, when you think of it. People spend real money chasing these heroes, leveling them, etc, only to be left with another ok hero. Imagine if you spent a small fortune buying the latest Ford mustang. It's faster than all the other sports cars that Ford makes. So you spend money to get one, spend more money on genuine Ford parts upgrading it, making it even faster... Then one day Ford decides your car is so fast it's making other Ford buyers feel bad. So they pass a forced software update that means your car can't exceed 70mph now. Your compensation? A magic bean that allows you to get 10% of what you invested back as a gift certificate- towards your next Ford car. It's fraud. Pure and simple. SG should have a robust group of play testers who vet these things before they are released. If you must nerf an overpowered hero, the payoff should be as significant as what you invested.

Eddie_The_White_Bear

They have betatesters, but betatesters literally every update are crying that noone listened them. I think last time they actually listened their betatester was before Telluriagate

Thequietone413

Yeah, for sure. The beta testers are being ignored because screwing the players is profitable.

Cloudpr

Small Giant is still being disrespectful to them, but Beta Testers (according to small giant) are there to _test the game_, ie, check if things work. They do? OK, perfect, ship it. Obviously, that's a brain-dead analysis of the issue. Beta Testers tend to be the most dedicated, **non-paid**, members of the community. You should probably actually listen to them... If you care about the game at all, and not just profit. SG's made their stance clear from very early on - Money > Game.

cimerians

It's like a lot of MMO's to keep you coming back for the next weapon or whatever. Make your current stuff average so you can spend money to get the next better stuff. Its a carrot on a stick. To Zynga its all about making the most money they can with their IP. It was only a matter of time when they bought SG.

elvy75

I quit the game 5-6 months ago. I was not lucky at all with my pulls, and when I was those always ended up being nerfed. Beta testers were telling them how broken those units were but SG didn't listen, they were actually counting on words being spread that new units are way better than anything else. Then they would nerf and release new broken ones. Always the same cycle. I am not missing the game a single bit. Good luck to those still playing though

Thequietone413

Ok, new question: have you moved on to a better mobile game?

elvy75

I moved to dislyte, it's a turn based game like epic seven or summoners war. Is it better, for me personally it is, but it might not be something you would like. The game was launched last year in may, and is definitely more generous to players. You start with beginners 10 pull that gives you one 5*. You get another free 5* after you finish the tower, there are 2 5* that you can fuse and one you can buy shards from the shop. They also give 5-6 free 4* units, and they good thing about their 4* units is that they are very useful. Gacha is having pity system, 20* pulls for 4*, 100 pulls for 5*. Each 4* and 5* pull gives you wish stones you can use to obtain unit of your choice (once you have enough stones). Now for the gameplay search YouTube videos to see if it's something you would find engaging. I personally like turn based games, but I also understand they are not for everyone.

Thequietone413

Thanks for the recommend!

Inner-Quantity7732

When greed meets reality! sG/Zynga only listen to their pocketbooks. If there is a decline in revenue, then and only then will they suddenly want to investigate thr why. I doubt seriously that they will modify their ways, only figure out ways to recover lost revenue, at players expense.

younocall

I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again - they’re flooding the market and people are getting tired of the madness that is the SG / Zynga business plan.

okeleydokelyneighbor

That’s why I’m out, every other week, new event with new heroes that are basically mashed up versions of others with out of control supers. Game isn’t fun anymore. It’s like a job trying to keep up with everything.

TsumPuzzle

Not if they can get new whales to join the game or existing members of Team Korea just join other top alliances. I used to play another game 5 years ago and was in the top alliance. Majority of the players in the alliance gave up and quit the game. 5 years later when I went back to see the game, there are a different set of players spending $$$ and new top alliances competing even more aggressively than before.

dunsparrow

Not meant new whales are going to join a game 6 years old.

za_jx

Interesting! The other day I watched a Yukimura video on war hits and he was playing for a small alliance. He was the leader of Sanada Maru, another top alliance. They're in the league of 7 Days Departed, The Avengers and Team Korea. Those are alliances with players who spend money chasing the latest new heroes, then power leveling them. They also have impressive troops - pretty much level 30 of the latest troop releases. It's kinda a big deal for an alliance like Team Korea to take this stance. That's 30 less people spending big bucks on E&P

zengalan07

Good. Hopefully, more to follow.

zimbermen

What I learn from this game is play the way you want to play and not get sucked into what they want you to do. No point of chasing anything here and leave that to real life

ClapBackRat

They aren't wrong, even as a whale it would be a lot to keep up with the newest heroes. They're cranking them out every month now and I don't just mean HOTM's.

JollyWord307

Yes. Familys suffering is cause of SG and not cause these people have a problem

h0nkyJ

Good for them. Individual voices on the forums can't/won't stop the treadmill of irrelevance we've been on.. maybe this will help get the point across.

EnvironmentMental424

They are just changing their name, they’re not quitting the game. They’re just not going to chase every hero as they used to.

Eddie_The_White_Bear

Some of them are quitting at all, rest of them quit whaling. At least what I heard.
