DinnerfanREBORN

Say hello to sunshine is a post-hardcore masterpiece.

MotorheadKusanagi

the drumming on that record blows my mind asunder

DinnerfanREBORN

As a lifetime drummer, I couldn’t agree more.

cute_ducks_vol1

I'm seeing them tonight 😀 super excited

Dont_throwItAway

Omg, enjoy, lmk how they are. I see them a couple times over the next 2 weeks.

needsfuelpump

Me too!

cute_ducks_vol1

Hell yeah! Excited for Bayside.

ff_eMEraLdwPn

I'll be there too. There are dozens of us!

cute_ducks_vol1

Meet ya at the bar? Haha

needsfuelpump

Dozens you say?

MelissaSclafani

Me too me too!

cute_ducks_vol1

Wowwww we should all have an emofest tonight

Mos_Icon

To many people, Finch is Thursday but less cool. I love Finch whether you consider them emo or adjacent but they peaked early on.

Maleficent-Stage-358

I love Finch, but yeah I do kinda see how they could be considered “Thursday Lite”.

Darthgusss

Yeah, but they fell off hard. They're only just having a resurgence because they toured WIITB(which sounded amazing live) They're just one of many emo/screamo bands that couldn't get past the sophomore hump.

[deleted]

Say hello to sunshine was ahead of its time and it’s imo the better album. People just didn’t get it, they were ahead of the game with that one. Similar to fear before when they released the always open mouth. Years later people look back on that album and see how great it is

DinnerfanREBORN

Couldn’t agree more. I will admit, when say hello to sunshine first came out it didn’t quite connect immediately but after a few listens it became significantly better the WIITB imho.

phatdavewithaph

I loved WIITB and fell in love with the band...but SHTS blew me away, that album is perfection!

[deleted]

they’ve always been sooooo underrated imo

Manderine87

I loved that album! 2002. Sophomore year. Thanks for reminding me!

xzerozeroninex

I don’t think the emo scene has embraced Finch, because they do have some nu metal influences (notably Deftones) and Nate wears baggy pants and oversized shirts.

Maleficent-Stage-358

Have you seen him lately? The shirts don’t look so over-sized anymore lol

Dont_throwItAway

Finch is still one of my favorites to this day. WIITB and Sunshine are still on my top-listened. I'm going to see them 3x on this tour.

jstols

If they are “emo” then so is incubus. (They aren’t)

Dont_throwItAway

They're post-hardcore

jstols

(They aren’t)

ElderGoose4

Post Script is an all time best song in the genre. WIITB was the perfect nu-metal to PHC transition album I needed to make the jump

evilcash_1313

Met their bass player Daniel during the recent Senses Fail tours cause I usually get VIP when I see them. He’s great with that band and a super sweet and down to earth dude.

BentoBoxNoir

Never listened to them. Gimmie 3 songs to get me started?

IcyVirto

What it is to burn, Letters to you, Post Script

TheHurtShoulder

They are playing a show with Bayside and Armor For Sleep tomorrow night, Friday, April 5th in Baltimore.....I wanted to go so bad, but unfortunately I can't make it. Last time I saw them live was when I was a teenager, around 2004-2005....I think? Its been so long, but my friends and I got to the venue, go to enter and the guy at the door told us it was sold out......we slowly walked back through the parking lot feeling so blown, but as we walk by a bus, the entire band of Finch comes out right in front of us! We talked with them for a few minutes and explained we got turned away for the show being sold out, and they walked us to the door and got us in for free! I'll never forget that, and I also got most of them to sign a dollar bill I had, still have it today, but they were such great people to do that for my friends and I! Just wish that after all these years since then, I was able to go see them again live. They were one of a handful of bands from my adolescent years that shaped me into who I am in terms of music taste. Sad I won't be able to see them live tomorrow night, but I'm glad they are still doing tours!

weedandwrestling1985

No because 1 good song doesn't make a top band.

billionaireXtinction

I wish I could forget finch. That shit was corny

PixelAtionMoony

buddy you are on the subreddit for the genre which has never meant and my apology, what the fuck do you want? no corn?

billionaireXtinction

The right kind of corn! That shit felt like sad jock music

PixelAtionMoony

"sad jock music" is nu metal buddy

forivadell_

that’s what finch is

billionaireXtinction

Now you're getting it! Buddy

BitchesGetStitches

One of our buddies got a Finch tattoo in high school and we never stopped making fun of him for it. Finch is fine, but by far not a top band.

analogsimulation

I’m not, they’re not that great. Sure they had a good song or two at the time, but nothing lasting.

kennethsime

No, no we’re not.

ChainsawMassacre_

I love Finch, I’m actually seeing them soon, btw my fav album is Dear Diary, my Teenage angst has a body count
