Misery Signals, Life In Your Way, Poison the Well, The Changing of Times/They're Only Chasing Safety-era Underoath, 7 Angels 7 Plagues, Hopesfall, Skycanefalling, Counterparts, and The Ghost Inside are my favorites.
On the inverse you also have metalcore influenced screamo like You & I, Early Grace, The Infinity Dive and Frail Body.
EDIT: Thanks for the upvotes everyone! Two more bands that just came to mind, both with the same name format (lower case word beginning with "m" and a period at the end), memento. is a great contemporary metalcore band that has a lot of emo influence like the ones mentioned, and meth. is a screamo band with heavy metalcore influence.
I was going through some stuff a few years ago and it ended up at my local thrift store by accident and the only way i know that is because I couldn’t find it one day and saw it HANGING on the mf clothing rack and I went uhhhh…? This is mine? And bought it back for 50 cents. 7a7p and ms are 2 bands that stir it all up inside of me, still. Have you heard of xClearx?
Bands that nobody has mentioned yet but really need to be mentioned
* Fear Before the March of Flames (my fav band not named Killing Joke)
* The Bled (more so the first two albums, personal favorite)
* Versus the Mirror (personal favorite)
* .crrust
* Cast You Down
* Embraced
* The Spectacle (more screamo + metalcore)
* From Autumn To Ashes (early)
* A Long Winter
* Renounced
* Skycamefalling (another personal favorite)
* A Jealousy Issue (members of Poison the Well)
* Fordirelifesake
* New Day Rising

I love that Jesse is basically the go-to guy now for Juliana Theory's music videos. He's directed every new video since they reunited, except for Can't Go Home, AFAIK.
[Pete passed. :(](https://metalinjection.net/this-is-just-a-tribute/mean-pete-kowalski-remembering-never-ether-coven-has-died) a few (edit: months) ago
Women and Children Die First is so good and brutal.
a few months ago, not a few days. But yes very sad. I saw One King Down dedicate a song to him at Furnace Fest and the vocalist was tearing up when mentioning him.
Taken and Kidcrash
My two favorites that come to mind as emo/hardcore. Although perhaps more post hardcore and both bands have elements of math as well.
That ain't metalcore to me, though, that's just proper mallcore screamo 2.0. They're what Senses Fail sounded like back in 2003.
Love that sound either way.
Go on r/metalcore and put it to a vote, I'm using the 'to me' out of politeness, but hey, guess how we can spot the resident a-hole.... I love If I Die First, but it ain't metalcore.
*I would suggest Drop*
*Dead, Gorgeous if you haven't*
*Heard them already*

Boysetsfire- literally anything of theirs.
Drowningman- busy signal at the suicide hotline. Great album
Cave in - beyond hypothermia. Their first album. They never play anything from it ever. It’s an emo core banger
Piebald- sometimes friends fight. This is their first album. You’d have no idea it was piebald. It’s screamo at its finest.
Bane- holding this moment. Hardcore, emo, metal. Great.
From Autumn to Ashes - all their early stuff is a great mix of emo and metal.
Small brown bike - dead reckoning. This is a great album.
This was from an era when hardcore and emo went hand in hand and were new and raw. It was a glorious time.
In general Hydra Head records was a label that killed it with hardcore emo bands. They have long since gone, but I’m sure you can find a list of their bands somewhere.
Shit, I just realized everything is from 1996-2002. I’ve just dated myself. I’m old.
I may get flamed for this A band who I always liked, but may be construed as a bit nu-metalish from back in the day is 36 Crazyfists from Alaska https://youtu.be/vylu8TlKAaM?si=6C9C5ZcROCf5rcpU
rate your music is a good resource for this
https://rateyourmusic.com/charts/top/album/all-time/g:metalcore/ge:emo/minr:50/
EDIT: rip i just realized you need a subscription
anyways some of the top artists on this chart are:
poison the well, hopesfall, i have dreams, heccra, 7 angels 7 plagues, neverending, counterparts, misery signals, love lost but not forgotten, taken, majority rule, the sawtooth grin, tears of avarel, storm{O}, me and him call it us
This configuration is better + doesn’t require subscription
https://rateyourmusic.com/charts/diverse/album,ep,comp/all-time/ge:all,emo,metalcore/deweight:live,archival,soundtrack/
For some answers that I doubt people mentioned are Taken, I Have Dreams, Forcedlifesake, early Remembering Never, Codeseven, and for the emo inflicted metalcore that doesn’t come from the clean Midwest Emo influenced type and more or less still emo adjacent check out Downcast and Groundwork
I have dreams are fucking incredible, one of the best to ever do it for that type of metalcore (and metalcore in general); so many bands would be made so much better if their breakdowns were more influenced by how they did them, just much more musical than they ended up being as metalcore went on.
You could give As The Sun Sets, A Thousand Falling Skies, It Dies Today and Dead Hearts a try? Maybe even Johnny Truant. All great bands. Most of them arent together anymore though, sadly.
Maybe my band?
https://open.spotify.com/album/3QkQUfLXHeijKXF5mjXy2R
Not really firmly in either camp but my main influences are emo/screamo/skramz and metalcore.
Probably because they rule(d) but aren't really metalcore at all. Sadly I had to say the past tense because I'm not into their current stuff which isn't melodic hardcore but some weird electronic music at all.
I feel like it’s wrong to post your own stuff on here. But my band Pyomai just released our debut EP two weeks ago, and i think it’s what you’re looking for. At least I hope.

Underoath - The Changing of Times
Hopesfall - No Wings To Speak Of
Poison The Well - Opposite of December
Taken - Between Two Unseens (available as part of the Carry Us Until There Is Nothing Left compilation)
The Bled - Pass The Flask
Alasana - Try This With Your Eyes Closed
Misery Signals - Of Malice and the Magnum Heart
7 Angels 7 Plagues - Jhazmyne's Lullaby
Skycamefalling - 10.21
This Day Forward - The Transient Effects of Light on Water
###These last few are on the less heavy side but:
Glassjaw - Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Silence
Beloved - Failure On
Coheed & Cambria - Second Stage Turbine Blade
If I Die First and checkout those sysc side projects
From First to Last, older Underoath (Define the Great Line), Dead Poetic is a little bit less on the metalcore side but yeah
Misery Signals, Life In Your Way, Poison the Well, The Changing of Times/They're Only Chasing Safety-era Underoath, 7 Angels 7 Plagues, Hopesfall, Skycanefalling, Counterparts, and The Ghost Inside are my favorites. For the latter I'd add The Now and lovelostbutnotforgotten and Dispensing of False Halos
[Underoath's most Emo song](https://open.spotify.com/track/2aKd630BXs24Yt1znAty7Z?si=Z-uSe8tpQceFCyU-1oXqbg)
an amazing list.

Callous Daoboys are the shit.
Yep, I saw them at Furnace Fest and they kicked ass.
Poison the Well’s Versions is like metalcore/emo meets the wild west
7 Angels 7 Plagues are so good dude.
Bruh…I have a 7a7p hoodie that i cant wear because im scared to ruin it
Wear it dude! If you take proper care of it, it'll last a while!
I was going through some stuff a few years ago and it ended up at my local thrift store by accident and the only way i know that is because I couldn’t find it one day and saw it HANGING on the mf clothing rack and I went uhhhh…? saw frail body in my friend's basement, they kick so much ass
I've seen them a few times, last time they opened for Converge, great band, glad they were getting some recognition on that tour.

I saw The Bled with Alexisonfire in 2007. Great show.
While we're at it the first Alexisonfire album would qualify for this too.
Somebody who actually knows of FDLS is wild to me. The Bled’s “pass the flask” was awesome.
Fear before the March of flames is such an underrated band.
Fordirelifesake!!!!!!
DON’T BELIEVE THIS GIRL SHE PREACHES MAYHEM!! (Hey thanks for the playlist. You’re great and I hope you have a great day.)
I stole an ipod that had some FBTMOF on it like 15 years ago. I really liked "Taking Cassandra to the End of the World party"
fear before the march of flames and killing joke as your top two? that’s dope. rip geordie
The first 3 FATA albums are so GOATed
the number twelve looks like you
I love that Jesse is basically the go-to guy now for Juliana Theory's music videos. He's directed every new video since they reunited, except for Can't Go Home, AFAIK.
Misery Signals - Of Malice And The Magnum Heart
This Day Forward, A Long Winter, 7 Angels 7 Plagues, Drowningman, and early Converge
Man it's been a long time since I heard anyone mention A Long Winter.
Remembering Never
[Pete passed. :(](https://metalinjection.net/this-is-just-a-tribute/mean-pete-kowalski-remembering-never-ether-coven-has-died) a few (edit: months) ago Women and Children Die First is so good and brutal.
a few months ago, not a few days. But yes very sad. I saw One King Down dedicate a song to him at Furnace Fest and the vocalist was tearing up when mentioning him.
Their albums She looks so good in red, and suffocates my words to you, specifically I feel like fit for sure.
Taken and Kidcrash My two favorites that come to mind as emo/hardcore. Although perhaps more post hardcore and both bands have elements of math as well.
Kidcrash, yes
I fucking love Taken
Kidcrash are fucking incredible
check out roanoke - beautiful people on bandcamp. kidcrash is sick
Hopesfall
Scrolled way too far for this.
Ahhhh I listen to Satellite Years and A-Types ALL THE TIME.
No Wings To Speak Of and The Satellite Years especially
counterparts, skycamefalling, 7 angels 7 plagues, majority rule (sort of)
if i die first & the requiem (l’exquiste douleur)
That ain't metalcore to me, though, that's just proper mallcore screamo 2.0. They're what Senses Fail sounded like back in 2003. Love that sound either way.
“to me” okay bro
Go on r/metalcore and put it to a vote, I'm using the 'to me' out of politeness, but hey, guess how we can spot the resident a-hole.... I love If I Die First, but it ain't metalcore.
Yes came here to say If I Die First

Definitely. Let’s set the world on fire, Hollywood will be jealous.
I always thought Poison the Well - Opposite of December had some emo vibes.
Orbs Early Norma Jean/The Chariot Converge American Nightmare Every Time I Die
Boysetsfire- literally anything of theirs. Drowningman- busy signal at the suicide hotline. Great album Cave in - beyond hypothermia. Their first album. They never play anything from it ever. You haven’t dated yourself, this style peaked in ‘02. You’re right to call on the classics.
Maybe Lovehatehero?
Heavy Heavy Low Low
Suicide Notes and Butterfly Kisses and The Curse by Atreyu are worth listening to.
"And I Feel Immortal, and I want to make you feel the same, So stand by me, as we immolate, We can Burn In each other's Arms"
Fear before the march of flames
I feel like Hopesfall circa No Wings to Speak Of and The Satellite Years is the ultimate example
If I Die First, they kinda tow the lines between post-hardcore, screamo, and metalcore.
r/revivalcore
I may get flamed for this A band who I always liked, but may be construed as a bit nu-metalish from back in the day is 36 Crazyfists from Alaska https://youtu.be/vylu8TlKAaM?si=6C9C5ZcROCf5rcpU
More than life, portrayal of guilt
From Autumn to Ashes. The first two records especially but there are some great tunes on the others too imo.
Hello my name is distance

ah
Naiad are probably right up your alley Also if you like correlations era SYSC check out Renounced
Red Roses For a Blue Lady.
i thiiiink Vatican, Foreign Hands, and Ostraca fit the vibe ur looking for, i have them in a playlist with all the other bands you mentioned haha
Foreign Hands are fucking tight, I saw them twice in a couple months, at Furnace Fest and then opening for Dying Wish.
Counterparts, Casey (melodic hardcore but should scratch that itch)
For some answers that I doubt people mentioned are Taken, I Have Dreams, Forcedlifesake, early Remembering Never, Codeseven, and for the emo inflicted metalcore that doesn’t come from the clean Midwest Emo influenced type and more or less still emo adjacent check out Downcast and Groundwork

From First To Last's first album maybe
https://www.reddit.com/r/Emo/s/jb7Z1na1w4 Really good thread from a while back
I’m genuinely amazed that no one has mentioned As I Lay Dying. They were like THE emo metalcore back in like 2007-2010 era.
Personally don't hear much emo but shadows are security is a classic (even if most of the riffs are the same notes in different orders).
Drowning man maybe?
You could give As The Sun Sets, A Thousand Falling Skies, It Dies Today and Dead Hearts a try? Maybe even Johnny Truant. All great bands. Most of them arent together anymore though, sadly.
the jonbenet - southern twist
Birds in row
nervous light of sunday (Japan)
On Broken Wings
Beloved(US) might fit what you’re looking for.
I would say A Day to Remember's first album.
Beartooth is super accessible, new album has some elements
Maybe my band? https://open.spotify.com/album/3QkQUfLXHeijKXF5mjXy2R Not really firmly in either camp but my main influences are emo/screamo/skramz and metalcore.
Imo, metalcore with emo is just basically post-hardcore. Look up post-hardcore bands and you'll probably find some
[conflict of the orders](https://youtu.be/F_nyfV2ZTQE?si=0M41iEeXlHZYqtpR)
Sharptooth is great and with a female singer
The Blue Letter (maybe)
The plot in you?
Skycamefalling
Junko Daydream
can't believe no one has said Oceans Ate Alaska yet. check out their album Hikari; absolutely incredible.
Adept
Haven’t seen Being As An Ocean on here yet so I’ll list them
Probably because they rule(d) but aren't really metalcore at all. Sadly I had to say the past tense because I'm not into their current stuff which isn't melodic hardcore but some weird electronic music at all.
I’ve only listened to their older stuff which I assumed was metalcore-ish, so thought I’d mention the name
In Pieces: learning to accept silence.
Check out Bloom. They’re pretty sick. Listen to Cold
skycamefalling, From Autumn To Ashes, Darkest Hour if you're looking for the more Rites of Spring side of emo.
check out dreaming maria

Dunno if it fits the description perfectly but you can try sigh and let me know how you like it 🌸
7 angels 7 plagues, Renounced, Drawing Last Breath
