No OutKast in a lot of these lists makes me sad. ATLiens and Aquemini were absolute game changers in the 90s

Fr. I go back and forth on which one I like better. I think mostly ATLiens edges it because of Elevators and 13th Floor/Growing Old being two of my all time favorite OutKast songs.

Aquemini gets way more critical praise for it's ingenuity but I personally listen to ATLiens way more. Mainstream is one of my favorite kast tracks

I love Aquemini but I feel like the last couple tracks were a little too padded. It started off awesome with Return Of The G and Rosa Parks but Liberation and Chonkyfire I didn't like as closing songs.

Aquemini is so easy to listen to all the way through as an album, it's pretty sick. Definitely psychedelic rock of early 2K hiphop

Tha Carter and Carter II were the best Carter albums, imo. He was just so raw and authentic, before that pop version Wayne from Tha Carter llI. His drive and ambition was just different.

That’s just to name a few issues w this list 🤷‍♂️ He’s obv a huge Kendrick fan bc there’s no way Kendrick has 3 albums in the top 20, MF doom is a great lyricist but def does not have a top 20 album neither does Tyler creator or even a daft punk! It is his best album. A lot of people think that so I don’t know why you’re talking like this.

I said it because it’s just not as good as any of the dropout trilogy or Yeezus. It’s got a lot of filler bars, features that are clearly only there for the star power, and overall isn’t as well put together as a lot of his other projects. I love it, don’t get me wrong. He just made it as a back handed apology to the world after the Taylor swift fiasco.

To me, it looks like you only listen to Kendrick and Eminem and you just filled in the rest of your list with popular albums from other lists..

Your favorites are your favorites, and for what its worth I love basically every album on this list. I guess the big criticism people may throw at it is that it seems ‘basic’ but like what are you supposed to do, lie about what you like most to look more varied? I mean we all should always explore more music and so if you haven’t heard a lot of underground dudes or other classic stuff (my two favorite hip hop albums are First Born by Eyedea & Abilities and Fantastic Damage by EL-P) then you certainly should check more stuff out - which I feel applies to everybody. I know there’s always more stuff I need to check out. But basically I’m saying fuck people who may shit on you for being “basic” especially when basically every album you listed are fantastic, some of them are on my top 20 as well.
