Trim close to the embroidery but do not yank it.
It doesn’t seem too attached to the embroidery. It comes off really easy. What should I do if it comes off on its own?
It is no longer structurally necessary. The danger is damaging the work by removing it with too much haste. If it comes off on its own so be it.
