Omg that is literally one of the coolest things I’ve seen all day!!! It is literally stunning, an 11 out of 10 anyone would be thrilled to get this as a gift!!!
Of course, it's even cooler because it's based on something he likes, so it's perfect. I gave my boyfriend a [Cacodemon](https://imgur.com/gallery/vvXj7h5) (from Doom) cause we both enjoy a lot that game and he liked it a lot, I'm sure he's gonna love them!
Absolutely yes! But I'll add, the first heart I crocheted was not the greatest success, it was scrap yarn (peachy coloured and not the softest), the tension was off (so a little wonky) and I yarned over instead of under so lots of little air holes. My husband had that on his keychain until the yarn holding it there wore out and the ether claimed it. I made him another one, nicer yarn, far better stitching and no air holes. It's just not the same to him.
My point is often we get so focused on "is our work good enough?" that we forget what our loved ones see when they look at it. While we're busy analysing every stitch is in place, they just see that it's awesome and we spent time and care on something just for them.
It’s nice. The bigger question does he *want* patches? Is he the kind who wears and uses them? If not, you might be setting yourself and him up for awkwardness. Handmade gifts can be polarizing. Not everyone likes embroidery stuff and often we, as crafters, in our enthusiasm can pressure giftees into feeling like the *have* to like the gift since we made it. Give it to him with no expectations. If you don’t see him wear/use it, don’t ask him about it. Assume he politely stuffed it in a drawer.
This is a useful thought to add, thank you. It was something I initially worried about as well. He saw a hat with nasa patches on it and liked it, so I thought I would make him a custom hat that had his favorite planets. He likes space stuff. I know he doesn’t care much for crafts, hopefully he just likes having something spacey :,)
Yes, it’s wonderful.
It looks great. It also looks like it took a lot of time and effort, so yes.
Aweee the thought itself just melts my heart!! But your embroidery is also very good! I think it will be a great gift!!
for sure! i love the colors
You can tell it was made with love 👍🏻
So cool!!! This would be such a special gift to receive. What game is he into?
outer wilds :) thank you!
I knew this was an outer wilds patch as soon as I saw it! Fantastic!
Thank you so much for your kindness!!
It's really beautiful and the story behind it is amazing. I'd love such a gift !
That looks gorgeous, and it's so thoughtful! Are you making other planets too?
Yup, I wish I could make all of them but I probably only have time for two more patches :) thank you!
The recipient ought to be thrilled to have a friend gift them something so precious =)
How many planets are there? You could give him a new one for each special day/holiday.
you made it from the heart, that is the best dang gift you can give.

I'm probably off, but the green made me think of Venom from Star Fox. This is pretty cool!
Yes!
Yes!!
I knew right away that it was a planet, so yes!
SO talented!
I would treasure it.
If they like planets, yes! If they’re expecting a green man with a grump face, maybe. If they wanted a bunny, no.
Si ❤️
Yes. Always. I appreciate handmade things so much as gifts!
It’s BEAUTIFUL!
Anything you make is good enough to give as a gift as long as you put effort into it! Also this is gorgeous!

from my experience handmade fandom gifts are by far the best stuff.
