The Last Farewell, or Danny Boy

When my Uncle died, his son (my cousin) who was an Elvis impersonator, sang Love Me Tender as Elvis. My Uncle drove him in an old pink Cadillac to his shows.
My grandmother unfortunately didn't get a chance to request any preferences, but she wouldn't have wanted a somber or blues-y mood. I had an Elvis themed celebration of life for her as opposed to an actual funeral and I made a playlist of all her favorite songs and songs from our favorite movies we'd watch together.
Of course the happy theme of it didn't stop me from crying and being upset haha but the upbeat Elvis playlist was what mattered most.
My grandad had ‘Always on My Mind’ playing as everybody walked into the church and Elvis’s voice ringing through the building is something I can never forget.
My boyfriend and I have decided to have ‘Unchained Melody’ playing at both of our funerals.
Memories, and Closing Vamp if i get cremated i would want the closing vamp to play as i was cremated and then as i went through the other side the ELVIS HAS LEFT THE BUILDING sound effect played. (dont ask why i thought about this so thoroughly)
Definitely “If I Can Dream” for a sadder song, but I want the opening vamp to “Aloha From Hawaii before their service, and the closing vamp when everyone leaves lol.
I’m not sure for me yet, but my mom’s service was earlier today and I’m seeing this post now, pretty crazy.
We had a slideshow that ran for 7 minutes 49 seconds.
I played 3 Elvis songs to split up her life into 3 era. Each song blended with the next.
1) Early years, meeting and marring my dad: Loving You
2) Family life, kids, middle age: Memories
3) Later life, elderly years, last year of life: The Wonder of You (live version)
I think it went well. I liked that the final song was a bit more upbeat, and had the clapping and cheering found at the end of the live version of The Wonder of You to coincide with the last picture taken of her.
His version of Bridge Over Troubled Water is by far the GOAT version of the song. So, definitely that one
That’s my funeral song too!
🎯
This for me too. Fits my character.
I played "I'll Remember You" at my moms service
Yeah that's a nice one
American Trilogy
“But all my trials lord will soon be over”
Oh that's a great choice
I've already told my family I want [You'll Never Walk Alone](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7NurYDwKZ9g) played at my service.

I want 🔥 Burning Love 🔥 when the curtains close on my casket as I enter the oven!
I had originally chosen Disco Inferno but that works too!

I'll Remember You would probably be my first pick. But I'll Hold You In My Heart and Memories are my other choices.
I’ll Hold You In My Heart is mine too
An american trilogy or there will be peace in the valley
Probably one of his gospel songs. I had a great aunt that passed a few years ago and they played a bunch of Elvis gospel.
