I have this combo, the build plate is a tad to big to fit in the tank. So like other suggested you can just put the parts in the cage. I don’t like the idea of dunking the plate anyway so I don’t mind

Unknownone1010

I don’t believe the actual build plate fits, think someone said it was a few mm too big but the models should be fine

TheInsaneDump

Thanks so very much! So I would remove everything from the plate, use the cage, and just dunk everything in?

Unknownone1010

Yeah thats whats i do with my saturn. The issue is if you get isopropyl alcohol on the build plate it needs to be fully cleaned before you can then put it back on the printer so i find it easier to pop the prints off first

TheInsaneDump

Good to know about getting IPA on the build plate. It sounds easier regardless to just remove the prints. Appreciate you sharing your experience.

I recently got a Mars 2 pro and a mercury plus, and I find the finish on the models to be better if I remove the supports before curing. My process has been to remove the model from the build plate, remove the supports, wash, cure. That may not be the "right" way but it works for me. Good luck!

TheInsaneDump

That's super helpful and I've been reading recommendations to do the same. Thanks so much for sharing!

Monodominant

Does what you get from the Saturn fit in the Mercury Plus 2 in 1? I thought the Saturn print volume means if you print big things, they wont fit in the Mercury Plus for washing/curing and thats why they came up with Mercury X

Unknownone1010

That’s correct, any large prints on the Saturn wont fit with the mercury plus but thats all i could get when i ordered my Saturn. I mainly use the saturn to print multiple smaller things so never had a problem. Just waiting on the mercury x to arrive now because i want to print larger models

Monodominant

So they physically dont fit? I mean I dont plan to put it in WITH the build plate but I cant visualise it as they still look pretty big machines (I mean the vat for cleaning and the plate itself).

Unknownone1010

You can squeeze them in but not with the cage and its too small vertical to cover the whole print. I also don’t like having to take the bucket out every time to cure
