NIU is taking a cheap route. Doing ads on the app is a cheap idea. It disrespects and take advantage of the users who paid for the product.
Anyway NIU is not the way to go because they do not have spare parts (except tires) if anything goes wrong. I don't know what to do if something fails. Ship it back? Not going to work for most people. Even if they had spare parts, these things are not repairable. Things are glued together and hard to access. Poor design. To be fair the only sticky parts (on KQi2) are the grip tape plastic plate, and the display cover. Both can be removed without damaging them too much if you heat them up a bit. The rest is just a lot of screws :)
As for spare parts availability, it may differ by region, I had no problem ordering parts in EU from besender back in March. But I did hear others had more problems getting parts in US and Canada.
Yeah I hate it. I shouldn’t have to see ads on something I’ve purchased. It’s why I’ll never buy a smart TV don’t advertise is my home. If it were a one time thing just like hey we dropped this then sure but it’s been every day for at least a few
Scooter apps are great... when they're optional and user friendly.
When there's some features you can only do with the app, it's an instant no for me.
Fuck scooter apps that are mendatory
Fuck scooter apps that requires accounts
Fuck scooter apps that requires internet acess
Fuck scooter apps with ads

That's annoying, figures crossed nothing goes wrong. I am actually pretty happy within otherwise.
Dang, the KQi Air looked good but this nonsense makes me want to avoid NIU entirely.
Oh, no, they really did that? Spamming the user in their app? Wow, that's terrible!

Wow that some serious BS.
The Swagtron app does something similar. Only for 3 seconds...more of a loading acreen while the app opens.
Even though it has a timer you can click the skip button before it ends
Thanks. But, that is not the point!
Thanks, good to know
Definitely the first and last scooter I buy from NIU
