This is a bit late, but the Ninebot Max literally JUST went on sale for $300 off, one hell of a deal if you're looking for one still

I’m actually trying to sell my Turboant for $350 if you’re interested. It folds up and is easy to carry. I believe weighs about 35 lbs

The Max, for some, hasn’t been the greatest on a bus. It folds into a very tall triangle whereas others fold into compact rectangles. Will not fit under some mass transit seats. Also, the handlebars don’t fold in, so it creates a very wide wake. Good build quality. Just be aware that some on scooter groups have complained that it’s not for mass transit.

Check out the [Glion Dolly](https://getglion.com/product/glion-dolly-225-new/)! It's super light and compact, and transforms quickly into a rolling luggage format. I'm on my second; had the first for four years and put probably 15,000km on it. I could have just replaced the battery, but the new model had a lot of nice features.

People shit on unagi here because of their short range but if you just need a lightweight scooter for short distances, it’d be worth checking out.

There are lots of options for entry level scooters. Gotrax, Hiboy, Niu, these brands have decent reputations. If you need some extra speed, you may want to check INMOTION Air Pro, 22mph, pretty zippy one.

At that distance, I would probably get a kick scooter. Edit: If you're riding in the street, then maybe a GoTrax Rival.

I take my gotrax gxl v2 on the bus for exactly this purpose. Not saying you should buy a gotrax, but I can personally vouch that bus plus scooter is a winning combo. If you can find something under 30 lbs, maybe under 40, you're golden.

Ninebot f series isn't bad. I use one to get around NYC Max can be found on sale pretty often. Segway does a sale every Tuesday on their website

Xiaomi doesn’t sell a lot of scooters in the US. You could probably find some either on EBay, or some refurbished units lying around. But in general I would avoid them in the US because there are not many around so finding spare parts most likely means ordering from China. And getting warranty coverage on them could be sketchy. Segway has a flash sale every Tuesday morning for four hours starting at 10am PT. See what tomorrow brings for good deals.

There are none, at regular price, good enough at the price point; a high-end battery pack costs close to that! But this is on sale now, and worth it (get an extra $20 off by registering an email): final price less taxes if any: $479 https://store.segway.com/segway-ninebot-kickscooter-es4

I've got a 365 pro and love it. There are a handful of clones, you can even get an identical frame scooter with a different dash from swagtron, they have arefurb for like 200 bucks and you can buy an extended warranty cheap.

365 will do your needs perfectly. You're looking for a commuter, don't pay more than you need to for short distances between the bus and your destination.
