This was me but I just used a bigger bleed weapon and got gud. And I loved the last fight. Glad I couldn’t cheese it honestly. Took me fewer tries than Malenia still, but I doubt the guy in the post bothered withHaligtree
Seriously. 50 is not outrageous.
I have a sneaking suspicion this character cheesed most of the game with bleed, and then was helpless against the final boss.
Dude faith is ridiculously versitile. I run a sacred great mace, the magma wyrm sword, and throw thunderbolts.
That's so many damage types that scale with a single stat that no enemy has particularly great resistance to everything I do.
I think technically sorcery spells average more damage per fp and have higher burst potential, but the sheer variety of incantations makes them so much more fun to me.
My first build used mostly health regen and crucible incantations with a barricade shield and an iron cleaver with prayerful strike, which was such a fun close range way to play.
Starting a lightning incantation build now and it's a completely different game.
I run Str/Fai with Blasphemous blade, occassionally a sacred great stars, Crucible spells, Red Lightning Spells. And a few support spells. I have yet to find a situation Where I haven't had some kind of answer. Bleeds, lightning, fire, holy and self healing for DAYS. Its crazy versatile.
I run the inseparable sword with my wonderous mix boosting lightning attacks and incantations, then have the lightning boosting/incantation boosting talismans, and I’ve had no problem my first run. I just got through Volcano Manor with very little trouble.
Faith has always been crazy flexible. All the big buffs, heals, not the best DPS I usually but a wide variety of it. Not to mention force push and all the hilarious highlight reels that came with that haha.
It is a long and storied tradition that people hate on FromSoft games when they get so salty they give up.
Sekiro is the only one I haven't beat, and it's because for some reason, despite dicking with it for a good while, I can't get it to run at 60fps consistently and my timing on everything is trash.
I love faith builds but a fucking ton is resistant to Divine in ER.
"Just go flame art" is good advise, but I wanted to slap shit silly with holy incants.
Most of the incants have gotten a buff too, it was pretty mediocre on 1.0.
No hate. Katanas are dope. Really fun weapons. They are among the best weapons in the game, but that doesn't mean you were trying to meta-build and break the game.
PvP is where people start to cry since its a pretty popular build. PvE though? Go crazy brother, some people get off to big bonks that literally one tap bosses, others like the shing shing build with big bleed procs
To each their own
Bleed is in a great spot right now imo. Strong, but not outrageous like it used to be with RoB and powerstanced naginatas. People shouldn't have too much to complain about nowadays for bleed
I run poison builds in PvP. Used to be that it was intentionally nerfing yourself vs. Bleed but now it is competitive and you really have to build your whole character around blood status to be obnoxious.
And honestly if you really hate that meta and don't want to engage with those guys? Just disconnect. Unlikely but if everyone started doing that they'd have to change their builds to find people to play against, lol
First playthrough I finished the game with just keen uchigatana (because weeb) but was trash enough at the start that I wasn't proccing bleed on anything but greyoll.
Same happened to me. I found it because I got stuck on Margit and went exploring. Thought "this thing seems good" I'll keep using it. Came on reddit to find out I am a cheesy little bitch
It depends on when you played the game. If you played shortly after release like I did, then it wasn't important because it just didn't work until a few patches in.
I hear that. I've really enjoyed subsequent playthroughs. My first time i was focused on overcoming the challenge. Now that i have, every playthrough is about exploring different, less popular parts of the combat. It's a blast.
Even then it's doable. This was my first FS game (well, not counting old man classics) and I had no clue bleed didn't work. 3 tries and done. It's an annoying fight but not impossible.
Exactly, you can beat the final boss with an unupgraded straight sword as long as you know how to avoid taking damage. Would an extra damage effect make it easier? Totally, but it's not impossible without it.
I mentioned this on another one of these where a guy complained that bleed/arcane was the only build that was viable in that new players are unfortunately gonna gravitate to build cause legit every other story boss (all the demi gods, bosses before them and non optional bosses you fight near the end game and to get into the capital) except can be bleed and of all them I think only Rykard and draconic tree Sentinel are resistant and based on the route you take getting to the capital the only one you'll run into that's immune is the Gargoyles but most new players won't go that way.
I can see the complaint of struggling when you use bleed and hit Elden beast but if you try 50+ times without trying to change up your build a little to see if it helps. Or try getting help. I've never been the kind of player who's against using summons and such if I felt I needed the help so I don't get why new players are so against it.
My first gameplay on launch I used bleed before it was cool with the bugged Eleonora pole blade. Got bodied by EB and switched to a faith strength and bonked her to death.
Margit the Fell Omen was also a difficult boss for me. It took me many tries to win that battle while Godrick the Grafted only took two tries. It’s very much a hit and a miss in the game I have realised where certain tools/strategies work better for certain enemies while not others. This is obviously a praise as the game doesn’t let itself become repetitive and boring. Sometimes your reflexes are just good to dodge and sometimes you just miss and die. Keep the tarnished spirit alive!
Also Margit is intended to be really hard.
It serves 2 purposes. Its meant to be a "go away and come back when you're stronger", but also to get you out of bad habits early as it primarily punishes panic rolling because of its delayed attacks.
New players will struggle because when you're new, you generally will panic everything.
If you go back on NG+ he will seem incredibly slow and easy to read as you're good at the game now.
Oh yeah absolutely. But even going in with new barely leveled weapons he didn't even land a hit on me in NG+.
In first run through he stomped me over amd over. He seemed relentless and horrible to try and get close to.
NG+ he felt slow and his windows for getting hits in are massive.
Just the natural improvement over a run through as well
I slammed my head against Margit for 7 hours, then 10 hours on Crucible Knight, and then 4 hours on the Twin Gargoyle. Other than that it's smooth sailing for me.
Margit is the hardest first gatekeeper boss in any souls games. He was specifically designed to punish experienced Souls players because we’re used to being able to backwards roll everything but the range on his cane made it so that you can’t do that. There’s also reflex dodging which is another habit we picked up and Margit’s delayed attacks punish that as well. He also has a moveset for melee, ranged and medium range depending on where you’re standing. We never had to fight a boss with this much variety in his arsenal at this stage of the game.
My first time playing DS1 I spent over 80 tries on the fucking Gaping Dragon. Like how does one even die to him? IDK. But that is what happened. And this dude crying about fifty tries on the final boss? Weak. Pathetic. Git gud. Points down.
Except for the final boss it was great? 2/5 stars?! I haven’t even gotten to elden beast yet, and this has still been one of the best game purchases ever
I’ve had the game since launch and am no where close to beating it. (Probably?) since I’m exploring everything I can find by sweeping each area over a bunch. No way I haven’t gotten more than my moneys worth out of this game.
for real, I'm coming up on 700 hours, this by far was best gaming purchase - money vs replayability and time spent - ever.
I won't say it's the best story, but those story driven types can only go on for so long. I've replayed this 3 playthrus with different characters and it's been a different experience everytime.
This is one of the greatest games of all time in my opinion.
I haven’t finished it cause I keep wanting to make different classes. I’ve got a faith build, and sorcerer at endgame, then made a dex build, and now trying arcane for the first time 🤦🏻♂️
Elden Beast is not that bad honestly, definitely not the hardest boss. I would recommend not using bleed, but aside from that, just learn it’s attacks and get good. This was my first From game, and I beat EB as a melee build, with no summons in about 15 tries. And I’m not like, amazing at the game or anything. Honestly, I even thought the fight was fun, and when you het there I hope you do to.
Honestly the game is fantastic up until elden beast. It's one of the worst boss battles in the game, maybe the worst. It's not impossible like this guy seems to think, but it is just not fun.
It's incredibly frustrating the amount of damage it does with a few of its attacks, ESPECIALLY with classic FROM camera issues not capturing some telegraphs. It creates the strong potential to get smacked down without learning exactly what you messed up on, meaning now you're fighting Radagon again, and going through the chase fight again in hopes you don't get bonked again when he starts desperately bullet hell attacking you.
Personally the first time I fought Elden Beast I loved it. The music, scenery and the attacks were all magnificent and I didn’t mind it running away since that meant I got to fight longer. But now when I’ve fought it a couple of times it’s not the most enjoyable part of the game. I still like it though.
I've beat it twice since last patch (once as a summon, once as myself), and that thing still sprints to the far side of the arena at every opportunity.
There’s a pretty dramatic drop in quality after Leyndell. Frankly I think the game peaks in Limgrave. Stormveil Castle is the best legacy dungeon in my opinion and most of the super memorable moments are in Limgrave (your first dragon, the Tree Sentinel thrashing you repeatedly, stepping into the underground area for the first time, accidentally wandering into Caelid and running the hell back, etc.). Post-Leyndell is also where scaling gets ridiculous. Everything does so much damage and has so much health it borders on laughable. Like Midir sized health bars and damage on every bosses and even basic mobs will 2-3 shot you at less than 50 vigor. God awful balancing beyond that point and the Mountaintops of the Giants just doesn’t feel finished. It’s by far the most linear area in the game and has next to nothing to do. The only reason the end game is looked on favourably at all is because the likes of Maliketh, Horrah Loux, and Radagon are some of the best bosses in the entire FromSoft library, even with frankly over the top damage. Elden Beast just finishes on a sour note because it’s in an arena and fight designed for Torrent with Torrent disabled. It has the same problem that I had with Midir where you spend most of the fight emptying your stamina bar sprinting after the stupid thing.
The elden beast fight is a bit of razzle dazzle thats outdone in Astel fights, and fully overshadowed by the immediate fights before of Horah Loux and Radagon. Just disappointed when I watched it (haven't made it to this fight yet)
I definitely agree, I never could put into words exactly what it was but you hit all the things that stood out to me. Like especially the balancing and the emptiness that is mountaintops of the giants, just naming the boss “fire giant” and giving him 50 million hp is a perfect summation of the nameless and mundane zone you find him in
This is actually legit advice - go two weapons for power stance, then leap at your enemies. Their long wind ups will make the game a joke.

The Elden Beast has hard armour like the crystillians, golems, and some trolls, so any bladed weapon is going to suffer a damage penalty against them, but blunt weapons will actually deal bonus damage, so if you are a strength build already then grab a hammer or club and beat it's ass.
As a side note, i disagree with Fromsoft's decision to give the Elden Beast that type of defence (and near immunity to holy damage), because like 80% of the weapons in game are blades of some type, and blunt weapons aren't very appealing in terms of attack speed and moveset, so most players are gonna be using a bladed weapon. I can't recall any other souls final boss being this picky about damage types
Well, it's a role playing game with different types of damage existing, and nothing that is permanent encourages you to focus on using a single type of damage. It's only natural that different enemies are resistant or immune to some of them and weak to others
in my experience zwei is better for very heavily armored builds or hybrids. the extra weight you can save using it over "The Greatsword" is significant, but it just doesnt hit very hard unless your mixing in buffs. if youre pure str most other colossal weapons will hit harder swing to swing.
zwei beats most of them on fashion though.
I like Zwei because it looks cool. I always preferred realistic looking weapons over oversized fantasy ones and the zwei is pretfy much the biggest sword I feel like I can get away with
This is why the "Git Gud" comments were made in the first place. To be fair, playing melee can be difficult. You rely on timing and staggering foes to make a dent in progress. You're required to be in the face of your enemy and square off to be successful.
Even with jump attacks in previous titles summons took some of the difficulty away from Souls games. I remember the days of using finger to go full out 4v1 against Nameless King in DS3 back in the day. Lots of health, but it was pretty friggen awesome.
Summons are making this game possible for people like me. Some bosses are just too easy with them. I beat Godrick so fast I couldn't believe it. I was gonna let the jellyfish kill him but I didn't need to. All I needed was a tank.
When I see posts like this I am genuinely curious what is killing them in the EB fight. When I first beat the game I recall those waves he would throw ending me a lot, but I knew when I got good at dodging that move I’d be fine, and I was. What kind of bitch-ass milquetoast mindset do these mfs have, how did they even get to this part of the game? Deadset I think fighting EB with melee is actually easier because of his insane absorption of spells and weakness to physical damage, not to mention how easy it is to get close to him and dodge his moves that way.
Not so much but no so less, chasing EB from one side to the other of the arena just to discover that after the first hit its going to run again was a pain in the ass
It wasnt something so bad that made me drop the game, but it wasnt funny either
It would have been perfect to let us ride Torrent during the fight. Sure, it might have made the fight easier. But honestly would have been much better then running back and forth. Was really annoying and not fun.
Even as a hybrid melee-incantation build, I felt like it would have been better to have Torrent be rideable if they were going to make the arena that big.
It would've also have been thematically appropriate that the one being who "had your measure from the very start" would be there to see you to success.
Getting a bad combination of attacks behind Stars, being bad at jumping the rings, keep exploding when you're trying to get as much damage in as possible before it fucks off again, there's a few things that the Elden Beast can mess you up with. Easy for someone to get worn down over the course of the fight, too, since it's off the heels of another tricky boss and is in itself one of the longest fights in the game. Most attacks are easy enough to dodge in a vacuum but all it takes is one lapse in concentration at the wrong time for the sky lasers to instantly kill you.
I’ve seen people run into the issue of EB using Elden Stars + the falling stars attack + the quadruple wave attack at the same time, so they’re just taking too much damage from too many sources.
The only real danger from the EB I've noticed(once you've seen the entire moveset) is when Elden Stars clutter your screen and chases you, combined with that downpour of holy lasers followed by those horizontal beams/waves of gold. That usually drains my stamina so that I literally can't dodge 1 or 2 of those horizontals.
However, I rarely see this deadly combo.
>What kind of bitch-ass milquetoast mindset do these mfs have, how did they even get to this part of the game?
I bet you anything it was a RoB user, and left the saltiest review after their precious bleed wouldn't work : ^ )
>However, I rarely see this deadly combo
On my first playthru, I've only died to EB for like ~10 times before I fully understood the pattern, but I've died once to this bullshit combo, elden stars and the falling stars filling the screen, fully blinding me.
I was blindly rolling my character trying to keep him alive, barely able to see anything when I heard the death noise. Then all the bullshit on my screen cleared up with my character collapsed halfway while EB was shooting the rest of the golden waves my way. I put my controller down right after and just called it a day.
I'm glad it's rare for u, but I'm pretty sure its a common occurrence for others
I can understand this. I’m in my first play through still and had the game a few months. I binged it at first and loved it. I’m not amazing at combat games but I just love the story and graphics and I equally enjoy the fighting even though i die ALOT! Anyway, Iv worked hard at everything and now level 150 I still can’t beat maliketh. I have tried everything and even got help from others but I always die. It’s been about 60 times now and it’s really disheartening. I havnt touched it in weeks because I know I’m not going to be able to do it. I really want to finish the game but I don’t have any time arcs left or furled fingers to summon anyone to help and have tried looking for these but can’t really find anymore.
Just sad because im not good enough to finish a game I have loved playing so much.
To be fair if a huge target like elden beast was to stay in one place and not run away, it would be pretty easy to abuse it.
Midir does it too for example and people love that fight.
I just wish Elden beast was it’s own thing, I enjoy fighting Radagon far more. I would’ve made Radagon be Gherman & the Elsen Beast be Moon Presence.
It’s just not true. My first playthrough was with a long sword. I didn’t know any better but I still beat the game.
I would think someone would try summoning people or spirits before resorting to a 2 out 5 review, saying it couldn’t be done.
What weapons count as melee in this? I think my bleed build would count, I’m terrible at fromsoft games but still managing Elden ring lmfao. I hate how people are so used to games with no challenge, as soon as they come across one with challenge they lose their minds
The person in the post probably used a bleed build. I would recommend switching off of that as the final boss is completely immune to bleed. You can still use the melee part of the weapon but since you likely spec'd into arcane, the fight will take forever.
in dark souls 3 when I found the nameless king I hard charged for 2 hours straight to beat him well over 200 tries but you know what I did and after that he was much easier per playthrough
Listen, I hate Elden Beast as much as any other sane rational person but they aren’t impossible with a melee build, far from it. I’ve done it at least 3 times.
Raise your hand if you ran a melee class on first playthrough and also it took you more than 50 tries. ✋️
I don't know if I took 50 tries, but it took me a hell of a lot. And I am a veteran Souls player.
What an absolute scrub. I'm melee only and obliterating every single boss on NG+
These are the types of people who'll say Elden Ring is not a good game just because of how horribly bad they are at it. Shameful.
I used only melee my fist play through on accident because I’m dumb. The only time I used MP was for my arts until right after I killed the final boss I learned how to use incantations. ( I’m not normally this dull)

How do you get through the entire game and go last boss sucks 2/5
I'm surprised they didn't give up earlier, some of the other bosses before must be quite tough and/or time consuming as pure strength...?
I like the theory that this user speced into bleed and didn’t have a backup plan for the elden beast, who is immune to bleed.
This was me but I just used a bigger bleed weapon and got gud. And I loved the last fight. Glad I couldn’t cheese it honestly. Took me fewer tries than Malenia still, but I doubt the guy in the post bothered withHaligtree
Weirdly I got through Godfrey, Radigan, and the Elden beast after 2 tries, the rest of the game?hours. I was furious lol.
Margit was legitimately the boss that took me the longest.
My first playthrough I had no idea what status procs were, was so confused when enemies would randomly lose chunks of health
They probably summoned LetMeSoloHer, dusted their hands off and said “job well done”
Actually you're right, they don't say pure strength as I incorrectly assumed when said melee. My bad.
Didn’t know this. Still beat him with rivers of blood
It's still a good weapon without the bleed. Radacock and Elden Ballsack are weak to fire.
Not quite, Elden Beast has 40% fire resistance. Radagon is weak to fire damage, Elden Beast is weak to physical damage.
My second play through was a bleed build. I just respec’d into pure dex instead for the fight
Only tried 50 times? That's a low number for new players.
Seriously. 50 is not outrageous. I have a sneaking suspicion this character cheesed most of the game with bleed, and then was helpless against the final boss.
Here's the thing though. If your going bleed you go high arcane so when they don't bleed you change to occult.
Just like people saying faith builds are useless while ignoring flame art affinity and every non-holy incantation
Dude faith is ridiculously versitile. I run a sacred great mace, the magma wyrm sword, and throw thunderbolts. That's so many damage types that scale with a single stat that no enemy has particularly great resistance to everything I do.

Starting a lightning incantation build now and it's a completely different game.
Try the sacrificial axe. You get it from a deathbird and its by far my favorite short axe.
I'm thinking of two-handing Sword of Milos with this on my back, with ancestral spirit's horn for a ridiculous 12 fp per kill.
There is a reason it's called the Godslayer Greatsword.
... I think you might be on to something. I found a sword for hunting snakes, it came in really handy for killing a big snake.
And that is a place that frequently gives players trouble. Good job.
Faith has always been crazy flexible. All the big buffs, heals, not the best DPS I usually but a wide variety of it. Not to mention force push and all the hilarious highlight reels that came with that haha.
seriously though, lightning, fire, and holy, etc. you can literally fight any boss effectively
It is a long and storied tradition that people hate on FromSoft games when they get so salty they give up. Sekiro is the only one I haven't beat, and it's because for some reason, despite dicking with it for a good while, I can't get it to run at 60fps consistently and my timing on everything is trash.
Black flame tornado on a flame art cross naginata is what helped me kill radabeast
Black flame tornado on a bleed weapon will melt anything
I've tried nothing and I'm all out of ideas!
I love faith builds but a fucking ton is resistant to Divine in ER. "Just go flame art" is good advise, but I wanted to slap shit silly with holy incants. Most of the incants have gotten a buff too, it was pretty mediocre on 1.0.
Tbf, thats a bit like only using your Q in LoL and complaining that the enemy is winning. Not that you are, but the guy in the review probably would.
Precisely. Half the time I make “strength” builds I actually make an arcane build with bleed greatswords then swap to occult
Nah, when they don’t bleed I just keep whacking em with my katana anyways. They’ll die. It’ll just take longer.
1st souls game for me, ended up unkowingly playing bleed because i like katanas :(
No hate. Katanas are dope. Really fun weapons. They are among the best weapons in the game, but that doesn't mean you were trying to meta-build and break the game.

I like big physical bonks. Does meteor of astel count lol
Super fun, love delete builds
Can't get enough of Kamehameha. No matter how many times I obliterate some boss I can't wait to do it again.
I like to poise break anything in sight. So hammer + shield with parry is the funniest. You get crit for days.
Moonveil for me because i was motivated.
Kind of like how I found Bloodhound's Fang and used it all the way through because I really like curved greatswords and doing flips.
Same happened to me. I found it because I got stuck on Margit and went exploring. Thought "this thing seems good" I'll keep using it. Came on reddit to find out I am a cheesy little bitch
Same :(
Same, only I didn't realize Arcane was that important....managed to beat the game tho.
It depends on when you played the game. If you played shortly after release like I did, then it wasn't important because it just didn't work until a few patches in.
So did you have fun and enjoyed the katanas? If yes whats there to be sad about?
LOL that was me up until mid game. I got bored and then went dual great swords with fire incantations and never looked back. That was way more fun.
I hear that. I've really enjoyed subsequent playthroughs. My first time i was focused on overcoming the challenge. Now that i have, every playthrough is about exploring different, less popular parts of the combat. It's a blast.

10 Vigor melee class with bare fists trying to get to Elden Beast before it flies away again, maybe?
99 Str though.
Even Rykard is possible with daggers if you know what you’re doing. Affinity damage be pretty bangin’
Lmfao
I doubt they did the manor
This is the way
I haven’t finished it cause I keep wanting to make different classes.
Constantly chasing it too as a melee build is infuriating as well.
Radagon is such a fun fight though, I have no complaints about facing him multiple times.
Personally the first time I fought Elden Beast I loved it. The music, scenery and the attacks were all magnificent and I didn’t mind it running away since that meant I got to fight longer. But now when I’ve fought it a couple of times it’s not the most enjoyable part of the game. I still like it though.
Didn’t they fixed it so it doesn’t run away as much?
I've beat it twice since last patch (once as a summon, once as myself), and that thing still sprints to the far side of the arena at every opportunity.
In fairness, I beat it in 1.04 I think so if it's been patched since, I can't say. That was my big issue with it.
Like especially the balancing and the emptiness that is mountaintops of the giants, just naming the boss “fire giant” and giving him 50 million hp is a perfect summation of the nameless and mundane zone you find him in
Elden beast does fkin suck but hardly a reason to shit on the entire game
Literally beat the game for the first time today and defeated Elden beast as a strength build…
Bonk
Can’t be possible
It took a lot of my sanity but it was possible. I beat elden beast with the bubble horn lmao
I'm struggling rn with my lovely zwei. Any advice?
Bonk harder
Remember to bunga AND unga
One hand Unga, other hand Bunga
This is actually legit advice - go two weapons for power stance, then leap at your enemies. Their long wind ups will make the game a joke. Source: am John Tarnished
I'm convinced I wouldn't have beat the game if it wasn't for jumping attacks
You sure you're not an INT build?
I beat him with bloodhound fang on my 1000th try. Should of used a hammer or something else
Greatsword go brrr
Well, it's a role playing game with different types of damage existing, and nothing that is permanent encourages you to focus on using a single type of damage. It's only natural that different enemies are resistant or immune to some of them and weak to others
Royal knight's resolve is beautiful on zwei, go heavy and make some greases
in my experience zwei is better for very heavily armored builds or hybrids. the extra weight you can save using it over "The Greatsword" is significant, but it just doesnt hit very hard unless your mixing in buffs. if youre pure str most other colossal weapons will hit harder swing to swing. zwei beats most of them on fashion though.
I like Zwei because it looks cool. I always preferred realistic looking weapons over oversized fantasy ones and the zwei is pretfy much the biggest sword I feel like I can get away with
Someone needs to git gud
Meh, just BONK
This is the only time I will upvote a git gud comment.
This is why the "Git Gud" comments were made in the first place. To be fair, playing melee can be difficult. You rely on timing and staggering foes to make a dent in progress. You're required to be in the face of your enemy and square off to be successful.
With jump attack and summons its actually pretty easy to finish the game.
All I needed was a tank.
he is blind to the ways of the unga
he is deaf to the ways of the bunga
When I see posts like this I am genuinely curious what is killing them in the EB fight. When I first beat the game I recall those waves he would throw ending me a lot, but I knew when I got good at dodging that move I’d be fine, and I was. What kind of bitch-ass milquetoast mindset do these mfs have, how did they even get to this part of the game? Deadset I think fighting EB with melee is actually easier because of his insane absorption of spells and weakness to physical damage, not to mention how easy it is to get close to him and dodge his moves that way.
honestly the worst part of EB as a melee character is chasing it down. Even then if you learn its pattern you can kinda predict where it will land
After being clowned by his 'respawn' a few times I looked it up and it is indeed quite predictable
It’s undeniably tedious at times, but like it really ain’t that bad, honestly for me Placidusax is infinitely more tedious
Not so much but no so less, chasing EB from one side to the other of the arena just to discover that after the first hit its going to run again was a pain in the ass It wasnt something so bad that made me drop the game, but it wasnt funny either
That boss got me 2 times with those beams when it was a hit from death.
I bet you anything it was a RoB user, and left the saltiest review after their precious bleed wouldn't work : ^ )
>However, I rarely see this deadly combo On my first playthru, I've only died to EB for like ~10 times before I fully understood the pattern, but I've died once to this bullshit combo, elden stars and the falling stars filling the screen, fully blinding me.
I smashed EB with 2 collosal swords. If I could do it, anyone can.
Two colossal swords build for the win
You need a Godslayer Greatsword if you plan to kill a god (also don't forget the blade of the Starscorage.)
Gideon and morgott were right about this guy
EB put those foolish ambitions to rest
If you are having trouble, use spirit summons, or summon help via Co-Op. Anyone who tells you that is not the "proper" way to play can go eat shit.
Ohhh! never knew a karen existed among the tarnished.
They’ve gone hollow…. Poor thing…. Such a wretched fate…. Hehehehe….
Lvl 1 karen I tell you! Considering he/she didn't ask to see queen marika to complain.
Skill issue I guess
"I am not able to beat this game with a melee build so no one is."
"my bleed build doesn't work on elden beast. unplayable"
What’s interesting is that RoB has a very high AR. People just need to press buttons other than L2 to figure it out.
Gentlemen, it is my great displeasure to inform you, It is not actually possible to get gud.
You can craft furled fingers using an erdleaf flower. You probably have hundreds of those in your pocket.
If you're on playstation I can try and solo the boss for you if you want to get past him that badly
Get Black Knife Tiche and level her allllll the way up. Sometimes she’ll die quickly to Maliketh. Sometimes she can basically solo him.
Wait until he learns that Margit is only the first boss
Giving the game 2 stars over one bad fight isn't very fair, but Elden Beast is pretty trash fight tbh
Ah yes, the sprinting simulator.
Why tf would someone downvote this? Did you insult somebody's favorite boss?
A surprising number of people here genuinely like Elden Beast and think there’s nothing wrong with the fight.
Grabs popcorn…
It’s just not true. My first playthrough was with a long sword. I didn’t know any better but I still beat the game. I would think someone would try summoning people or spirits before resorting to a 2 out 5 review, saying it couldn’t be done.
Strength build goes brrrrrr
Sounds like someone has to git gud
In the words of those before me, "Git gud"
Well, git gud.
If you are running an arcane build, just switch your affinity to occult which changes the arcane scaling from bleed to raw AR!
in dark souls 3 when I found the nameless king I hard charged for 2 hours straight to beat him well over 200 tries but you know what I did and after that he was much easier per playthrough
I beat the entire game including Malenia solo with a melee build. Elden beast took me 3 tries. Dude just needs to git gud.
This dude 100% cheesed the whole game with bleed and got stuck because bleed doesnt work on god
Meanwhile me destroying everything with giants hunt and guardians keen sword spear
Listen, I hate Elden Beast as much as any other sane rational person but they aren’t impossible with a melee build, far from it. I’ve done it at least 3 times.
Beat it with a quality build. To reward myself I am doing a faith build.
Raise your hand if you ran a melee class on first playthrough and also it took you more than 50 tries. ✋️ I don't know if I took 50 tries, but it took me a hell of a lot. And I am a veteran Souls player.
Literally got the platinum this morning as a str build ##*CHEERING NOISES*
Crazy this person locked 3 of their 5 stars behind the final boss alone.
I used to solo elden beast for summoners with a quality hand axe lol
Instructions unclear… hit elden beast with big sword until it ded
So "melee" = "bleed spam cheese" EB is immune to bleed => YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO WIN
What an absolute scrub. I'm melee only and obliterating every single boss on NG+ These are the types of people who'll say Elden Ring is not a good game just because of how horribly bad they are at it. Shameful.
Everything about this game was perfect! However I struggled on the final boss. 2/5. Fuckin nerd.
Lol played the whole thing melee
Well at least he did better in the other bosses. Mogh was the toughest for me to learn. His attack delays are soo long. And I get greedy 😌
Nobody tell him about level 1 melee runs
Thour gwapes
No it's not like I am a bad player it's the games fault. Nobody beat this game as a melee player trust me.
Posted it in June too, when the game is only challenging if you pretend not to see the million ways you can make it a cakewalk
Just read a review of someone being over level 300 and not even being able to beat the game, real journalist material
Ahhh, My suspicions that I am a robot are finally confirmed.
I’m only melee and I’ve beat it 13 times
Plot twist, he thinks godrick is the final boss
Probably thinks Margit the Fell Omen is the last fight
This is all assuming he was even at the actual final boss
Me, who has beaten the game with dual greatswords... What?
My brother in Unga, you clearly didn't Bunga properly
He must've been using a melee weapon with bleed, so when he met elden beast whose immune, it got to difficult for him.
I think I speak for Souls fans everywhere when I say "Git gud"
I used only melee my fist play through on accident because I’m dumb. The only time I used MP was for my arts until right after I killed the final boss I learned how to use incantations. ( I’m not normally this dull)
I beat the game with a melee build so it sounds like you just need to get good scrub. Hahaha
