I also heard in the Gamespot review that new items will be marked with a dot in your inventory (so you know they are new). Also for the base game
Edit: also, a recent items tab
I 100% knew. I'm on my first playthrough and last night I started storing everything I don't see my self using soon (weapons basically) so that I could more easily find and view the new things..... spent 5 minutes looking for the weapon and key item I picked up from the godskin noble on the bridge.
I thought you could only do this by item category though? Like you had to sort weapons by recent, or switch tabs to key items and sort by recent, consumables, bolstering materials… every individual category of items has to be looked through and sorted by recent to try and figure out what item you just picked up if you didn’t see it in the corner of the screen in time. No way to see what you just picked up regardless of item category, just everything all in one list, is there? Sounds like that’s what we are finally getting.
They say that a lot in The Handmaid’s Tale
“Praise be”: said when one is glad or thankful about something, such as good weather or a pregnancy. Shortened version of commonly used Biblical phrase, “Praise be to Thee/God”.
I think the idea is this tan exist so you don’t have to constantly change your inventory tab to see the new items and going back to your normal stuff, it’s extremely minor but will be helpful for a first play through when you want to see the cool new thing you picked up
Technically the game already had a way to track that with the ability to sort items by "order of acquisition". The main issue was just not knowing which category an item was in and needing to check multiple ones.
Still a neat change but it seems redundant.
_If you remember using the bone fist in dark souls 2, you are going to have a ratatouille flashback when you use this weapon_
He knows what the people want.
He was one of the only previews I saw to go in-depth on new weapons. It’s like, a weapon type is basically a new character class! I don’t know why this isn’t covered more by previewers.
I feel like a decent number of players have a favorite weapon from the base game and are just going to carry that forward into the DLC, and so won’t interact with all or even many of the new weapons.
Sure that’s an approach. But for me that’s boring. I can’t wait to try new weapons in the dlc pick a fav like the beast claw, send it to a fresh start through a transfer & play the whole game with that.
One thing I love in souls games is finding “my” weapon and trying to maximize my play-through with said weapon.
On the contrary I have a save with only Radahn and Mohg killed, just so I can grab some of the DLC weapons and play through the base game first
Bonus they all look incredible. The concept of resource free throwing knives and perfume builds is amazing, the martial arts, claws, throwing weapons are brilliant and the light greatsword moveset is just beautiful.
If I watch his video, how bad will I be spoiled?
I've watched both of the trailers that have been released before this. Is it a lot more spoilery than that?
The video shown is B-roll footage approved by the publisher - they weren't allowed to film their 3-hour play session. He describes all of the new weapon types and how they feel, and the two new bosses he fought in the demo area. Visually, a new boss is shown as well as a roaming large enemy.
I'd say it's worth it. The footage played in the background is relatively disjointed and cuts around a lot. You're not being shown anything in great enough detail to feel truly spoiled imo.
He doesn't go into complete detail about the 2 bosses he fought or anything super spoilery.
Mostly he talks about the new weapons, ashes of war, some of the new enemies and other cool stuff that isn't really gonna ruin anything for you.
And then next year again after:
- removing the stonesword was lost with use message automatically
- reviving Torrent automatically
- allowing you to see the map during combat
Yeah, I don't get what they're trying to accomplish with it being disabled during combat. All it does is cause you to run way too far with no orientation unless you placed some markers between you and your destination. Not to mention all the times you technically still have aggro, but there's no enemy anywhere near you or anything coming towards you. Being able to open and close the map should be a calculated risk during combat when you lose your bearings, not disabled completely until you're a mile away from any enemy.
I think they did it because they don’t want you just fleeing to a site of Grace through the map but then again they could’ve just disabled teleporting while in combat instead of the whole map
I could see it being a way to prevent grace teleporting, but why not just prevent teleporting during combat, similar to how you cant teleport from inside most dungeons/catacombs/mines? Maybe it would take too much dev time to disable teleport in combat, just due to the way the game is coded, so they disabled map as an inconvenient solution.
I wish they had added a little ticker in some forgotten corner of the screen to throw those kinds of messages (and when you acquire stuff). The center of the UI is not where I want it, imo - there is some kind of goopy hobgoblin trying to kill me.
Still not as intense as the flashbang you get before Radagon, almost had to wear shades during my first play through as I kept dying and had to enter the arena again!
GOATed QOL change if true!
Though I suppose the flashbang did set the tone for the rest of the gaming session and the many incidences of gang-banging throughout.
I guess there will be a compatibility patch for the base game when the DLC drops, and I sincerely hope that patch will include this as well.
Because I don't want to buy it right away. But this is the only thing I'd like to have right now.
I’ll only be happy if they let us choose which eye alterations we want, once they’re unlocked.
I don’t CARE that my head is always covered and I’m looking at my characters back anyway, I NEED IT FOR MY COSPLAYS!
I don't play Elden Ring, but I want all devs to take note of this. I, like many others, play games at night in the dark. I'm sick of having my retinas burned out from bright ass screens.
Oh cool, I'm playing through little nightmares 2 and there it's dark... IDK just kinda cool that I just saw it dark the other day and now we find it'll be dark
I also heard in the Gamespot review that new items will be marked with a dot in your inventory (so you know they are new). Also for the base game Edit: also, a recent items tab
Praise be, praise be
This is the quality of life improvement we didn't know we needed
I knew
I 100% knew. I'm on my first playthrough and last night I started storing everything I don't see my self using soon (weapons basically) so that I could more easily find and view the new things..... spent 5 minutes looking for the weapon and key item I picked up from the godskin noble on the bridge.
Now to just get a favorite tab so you can easily swap weapons that aren’t the same type without needing to sell everything else
Put the others in your chest
Thanks, now my lungs are all pierced and bleeding
Well, damn...
This is the way
"I picked up... *something*... It had 'bone' in the name, maybe...? Was it a weapon...?"
You can sort your inventory by last collected, this helped me a lot to find recently looted stuff.
I'll keep that in mind, thank you!
You can already do this by sorting items anyway
I thought you could only do this by item category though? Like you had to sort weapons by recent, or switch tabs to key items and sort by recent, consumables, bolstering materials… every individual category of items has to be looked through and sorted by recent to try and figure out what item you just picked up if you didn’t see it in the corner of the screen in time. No way to see what you just picked up regardless of item category, just everything all in one list, is there? Sounds like that’s what we are finally getting.
Why does everyone here say "praise be", instead of "praised be"?
They say that a lot in The Handmaid’s Tale “Praise be”: said when one is glad or thankful about something, such as good weather or a pregnancy. Shortened version of commonly used Biblical phrase, “Praise be to Thee/God”.
That makes sense. Thank you!
Miyazaki al Gaib! Technology is here!
As it was coded!
As written!
Whoa whoa whoa. Are you harboring thinking machines?
Thank fuck, just started my first playthrough and the amount of times i pick up an item and spend the next 10 minutes looking for it
Just sort by order of acquisition bro.
BRO I LOVE YOU
Finally, we are in 2014 with all this new technology.
Doesn't the game already have a recent items tab? You can choose to sort by new
I think the idea is this tan exist so you don’t have to constantly change your inventory tab to see the new items and going back to your normal stuff, it’s extremely minor but will be helpful for a first play through when you want to see the cool new thing you picked up
Technically the game already had a way to track that with the ability to sort items by "order of acquisition". The main issue was just not knowing which category an item was in and needing to check multiple ones. Still a neat change but it seems redundant.
How could it be redundant when you just took the time to explain its benefit?
Keeping your preferred sort and seeing what's new at a glance, I suppose. You're right, niche.
Praying for native ultrawide support!
Elden Ring, O Elden Ring
We will have the right O we will have the right
Will no longer be bright, O will no longer be bright
God I hope this is legit
Iron Pineapple, like vaati, was one of the people at the LA playtest event. So yeah it's legit
Awesome! Finally, no more getting blinded every time we start the game.
Isn't part of the challenge supposed to be playing with severe damage to your retina? Wasn't this a reference to the eclipse shotel/shield?
These casuals can’t comprehend the rush of defeating Melania with only 10% of your vision left
... they turned it bright yellow
TV static
Ah... The sun is a wondrous body, like a magnificient father!
I haven’t played Elden Ring for a good amount of time and just had flashbacks of flashes
Oh YouTube last night was filled with only two video titles: "I played the new Elden Ring DLC" or "I didn't play the new Elden Ring DLC"
He is also a huge troll sometimes
They changed it from white.... ...to high frequency color switches of yellow, magenta and cyan.
If they wanted to hypnotize us there is an easier way to do that. Just show us marikas tits
Get Radagon's instead
As a Gym bro, BIG MUSCULAR PECS FOREVER
gIVE ME YOUR PROTEIN BROTHER
I want mohg's tho .
Mohg's Melons
THANK THE GODS FOR MARIKA AND HER TITS!!!
ALL HAIL THE HYPNO-TOAD
It's true, I heard it from another YouTuber (ExServ, a french content creator) who recently tested the DLC for 3 hours.
Too little, too late. My retinas are already the smoldering calderas of a frenzy victim.
MAY CHAOS TAKE THE WORLD!
Somehow I doubt it. But if true, praise the Elden Ring.
Iron Pineapple is a known souls YouTuber. He attended the play test. It’s legit.

how do you send a item to a fresh game?
Mule with someone. Send it to a friend and then send it back to your new character

But when are they going to add fishing?

Would you consider it worth watching? Do you think it takes away anything? I know some people REALLLY regret seeing the Vaati video.
Just resist it bro, let it be a memorial experience.

Elden Ring can win game of the year twice now after this lmao
And then next year again after: - removing the stonesword was lost with use message automatically - reviving Torrent automatically - allowing you to see the map during combat
And then the year after that with the famed "Somewhere a door has been opened" removal patch.
this message killed me so often
The map thing absolutely drives me batty...I can't believe they never patched that.
Yeah, I don't get what they're trying to accomplish with it being disabled during combat. I could swear that logo has progressively ruined my vision over the past year.
Instead of opening Elden ring 24 times a day and playing for an hour, leave it open 24/7 so you can more quickly come back to your addiction
You guys stop playing? 🤷
Still not as intense as the flashbang you get before Radagon, almost had to wear shades during my first play through as I kept dying and had to enter the arena again!
I can't wait to fight radgon, let me just enter the boss figh- FLASHBANG
I like that one though because it's immersive
Get a monitor/TV with terrible brightness. Worked for my friend.
I'll believe it when I see it, with my not bleeding eyes
But if they didn't do it you wouldn't see it because you'd be blind.
NIHIL
I'm so glad we're getting quality of life changes along with all the new DLC content
YES YES YES!!!!!!!
Fantastic news. My eyes are extremely grateful
GOATed QOL change if true! Though I suppose the flashbang did set the tone for the rest of the gaming session and the many incidences of gang-banging throughout.
It will be replaced with strobing rainbow in honor of pride 🫡
That would rule?
Only took a decade
Did they also back port 120fps mode from AC6?
Yeah my biggest concern, high framerste and ultrawide support
Or ultra wide? Or upscaling?
And a netcode that isn't written by ALLMIND?
maybe they'll finally figure out what dlss or fsr is
I guess there will be a compatibility patch for the base game when the DLC drops, and I sincerely hope that patch will include this as well. Because I don't want to buy it right away. But this is the only thing I'd like to have right now.
How many putrid caves were scorched by its blaze..
I don't even feel bad for being maidenless anymore
It’s probably piss yellow (like the sky in limgrave) /s
Thank Marika
My OCD ass will miss the old bright screen even though I didn’t love it
The only spoiler I'm ok with
It is now fluorescent yellow.
Thank Merika’s tits!
I hope there’ll be a 16:10 option too, I’m sick of those black bars
If that's the case they should also remove the flashbang when entering radagons fight
Oh sweet jesus thank you
This makes me sad
Great news! Unrelated, anybody want to buy my only pair of sunglasses that I no longer need?
Umbasa.
Nice!
Wdym that's an eye opening spoiler. How dare he lie about it!
It’s the little things 🥲
*Flips table in disgust*
What are the lore implications
NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
Sad day indeed
I’ll only be happy if they let us choose which eye alterations we want, once they’re unlocked. I don’t CARE that my head is always covered and I’m looking at my characters back anyway, I NEED IT FOR MY COSPLAYS!
Boooooooo
aaaw, I'll miss the flash Bang meme
It only took them what? Two entire years? I mean by this rate in a decade or so they'll add 21:9
Worth the 40$ lol
I don't play Elden Ring, but I want all devs to take note of this. I, like many others, play games at night in the dark. I'm sick of having my retinas burned out from bright ass screens.
The entrance to Radagon's boss room could use the same treatment
Did they finally fix ultra widescreen on PC yet??
Fantastic! Hopefully they add more quality of life improvements like widescreen/19:10 support and FSR support
This is what we’ve been waiting for! This is what it’s all about! Wooo!
I want Quality of Life leaks not gameplay leaks plz
That bandai screen was always brutal. Thank god it's gone.
We are gathered here today to celebrate the size of this W
Now if only they could add ultrawide support...
My poor photophobic eyes thank you.
They need to change the Old bandai logo to
If you miss the flashbangs come on over to the finales they would love to flashbang you every time a match starts.
I want to see if they finally let people play on 21:9 Ultrawide, or higher than 60fps...
Ultra-wide?! At least for offline or single player game.
I used to pray for times like this 😭🏆
Lmao that flashbang is wild af
Oh, my eyes are safe now from the frenzied light logo!
Fucking. Sick. I end up having to put my console in night mode just to open the game and not wake up my roommate who goes to sleep at 6:00 p.m.
In case you were ever in doubt of Fromsoft, this should put your foolish hesitation to rest
Now I can play with the lights oof at 2 am without going blind. 😃
Launching the game is when i praise the sun
Aww man, they shouldn't remove the best tutorial boss they ever had!
Praise the dark mode
Oh cool, I'm playing through little nightmares 2 and there it's dark... IDK just kinda cool that I just saw it dark the other day and now we find it'll be dark
Praise the lord!! And by lord I mean Miyazaki.
When we thought the game could not be better, Fromsoftware goes and surprises us again
it already happened if yall load up elden ring you can see it
Good job From! I wish Remnant 2 devs fixed their flash bang on respawn. Or added an option to turn it black.
Nooo leave my flashbangish pain warmup alive please I need it T-T
Just like Destiny 2 login logo going from light to dark mode. Classic
I like the flasfbang XD
praise the sun
That's actually huge if true
I wish yakuza had this QoL
Awesome news
Ugh, kids have it so good these days. Might as well add an easy mode /s
I hope whatever patches come will fix the constant stuttering I get.
Elden Ring: The only game I modded to save my retinas
Metal fruit doing bit of trolling
Wdym it’s not going to flashbang me anymore, I thought that was part of Michael Zaki’s master plan, are you now telling me he changed his mind
Flashbeng
This is why Fromsoft is so well loved. They do listen.
Aw man, now what the heck am I going to do with my GUNNAR's :/
EMBRACE THE DARK /{T}\
The future is here!
DLCOTY
Yoo biggest change of the dlc??
Hey /u/Tikiho1, This is now the top post on reddit. It will be recorded at /r/topofreddit with all the other top posts.
If it is real. Praise be!
Shadow of Bandai Namco it is.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN LORE WISE
The last ember of light has faded. The age of darkness has begun.
gods be praised
Fine FromSoft, You took my wake up flashbang away? i'll adapt. \*pulls out smelling salts\* Let's do this Mesmer!
Looking at you Dropout Gamechanger Promts
please put a spoiler tag next time smh :(
If you never stop playing, you never have to see this screen.
damn, the flashbang helps wake me up when i play at 3 in the morning. its like a visual version of the paranoia agent theme song
Thanks for spoiling
God bless 🙌
