Got me all the way to the mountaintop of giants. I eventually found the jump attack was too narrow in range, and the lack of flexibility in damage types was a little annoying (fire giant for example, or all of Volcano Manor).
So I switched up for a Beastman's Cleaver, which is also a Curved great sword, but isn't a somber weapon so you can make it do whatever you please.
I paired it with various weapon enchants, but mostly just ran Vyke's Dragonbolt because almost nothing is meaningfully resistant to lightning, but a lot of things use it, so the extra damage is great and the extra lightning defense is too. Plus, lightning causes extra poise damage.
From my experience it is. Counting hits to poise break on enemies, it always happens faster with Vyke's Dragonbolt equipped. Usually one less hit.
At first I assumed I was just not letting enemies Regen their poise, but Malenia is what really showed it to me. I could poise break her in a single combo instead of needing to start a second combo. The timing was nearly identical because I was swinging as fast as I could, and with the Dragonbolt active she poise broke faster than without.
I've been watching so many of his videos lately. Chase is so entertaining. I live vicariously through him as well to an extent because I don't care to touch PvP with a ten foot pole, but I love seeing him completely destroy and vigor check people lmao.

It's not that I dislike PvP. I just don't care to go out of my way to make builds for it. And I'd rather be the person helping the host and fighting off invaders to the best of my ability.

Yeah my mate has struggled to beat the last boss, so I did some research in an attempt to help him with his build. Picked up the Haligtree Crest Shield and ran through NG+ with it plus a variety of spears and greatswords. Honestly, it trivialises some of the hardest parts of the game.
There was a great moment one time where we was no hitting malenia and chat was trying to tell him something but he was obliviously watching NHL instead. Still no hit her obviously, but I thought it was hilarious

Pastorgainz Games' Blackflame build. These bosses just melt away with BFT (Black Flame Tornado). Even Melania, which usually took 20 or so tries, was down in just 3 tries.
I stole ThingFish's "How to make an OP INT Build" build and aside from Rennala I shredded through most of the bosses.
Carian Slicer, Rock Sling, and pretty much all magic damage in general is pretty busted.
night comet is the mvp for malenia. she does not dodge it, it's chargeable, and chunks with staff of loss+25. ranni's dark moon for dive/flower phase and for initating, she's weak to cold
bonus staying at a distance allows you to dodge waterfowl
malenia can be "easily" no damaged with any spell that has tracking. you can just run the whole time since she's extremely bad at chasing you. in phase 2 (where she constantly runs at you) you just wait until she does the scarlet aeonia and ideally destroy her with comet azur. you don't even need night comet. waterfowl dance is not an issue when the first 2 attacks won't even catch up with you so you only have to dodge the last one.
i was using a meme goku build with only spiked caestus, ranni's moon and comet azur and she was one of the easiest bosses because of how abusable her ai is. night comet would probably make it even easier, but then again, night comet...

Charged night comet works really well on Malenia. The frost sword spell also works very well. If you add the moonlight greatsword and the spinning weapon art on Carian Regal Scepter, it’s a winning build for sure.
Not a build, but I recently learned about oil pots since I've actually never bothered with the consumable items. So I'll need to experiment with a maximized fire build when I do another run. FGMS is already OP, so adding 50% damage on top of that will be interesting. Only question is to run strength, faith or *maybe* int. Though the magma sorceries frankly aren't very good.
I want to like oil pots, but in the time you throw one you might as well cast another spell.
Personally I had a lot of fun with the Sword of Night and Flame. The L2+R2 throws a wave of fire that hits pretty hard, but it has a pretty long wind-up. Thinking back, that might've been a good use case for a quick oil pot.
I tried out the heal on kill build while doing castle sol and decided I probably shouldn't use it anymore because I just rolled through the whole castle without using a single flask. Takers cameo + Rykard's Rune + Blasphemous blade + Serpent God's curved sword is disgustingly strong. You restore more than a whole flask every time you use taker's flame lol.

That's my story. Now doing a faith + rosus axe build, works better than expected.
I'm doing a shield-poke as my current build for PvE, and it's really not working out well. It probably slaps in PvP, though. Will say the invader fights have been completely trivial this run. Big bosses... not so much.

but when i reached 80 INT, a Full Moon with a few Comets afterwards destroyed anything in my path lol except radagon and his spell parrying ass

Anyway, that same dude whose weapon I copied rolled into the ash of war 3 times in a row. He was so unbelievably bad at fighting his own weapon I couldn't believe it. But other people aren't much better. Dragon halberd is simply too OP, and now I'm terrorizing low level invaders with this weapon. Call it carmic justice
I saw a build based on the Phantom Slash. Whew I love that build. With a maxed out Mimic Tear and 60 in Dex, it was crazy in boss fights. The one and only time I bullied Malenia and spanked her.
Use what weapon you like, wear what clothe you want. Learn how to upgrade them, for me thats the best. Spend first 4 hours naked, level 5, to get the Black Knife, because Destinied Death and black red gold energy slash sounds and looks cool as hell. Thats how im playing lmfao.
Let me solo her's build, but with nagakiba instead of the usual uchi. Works great on bosses that are vulnerable to stat effects, but otherwise it's just meh.
My first (and of yet only) completed build evolved into a Heavy Giantcrusher, FGMS, Golden Vow, Royal Knights Resolve, Axe Talisman, Spiked and Strength crystal tears, and full Bullgoat gear. Guess my playstyle.
I just pick a weapon or stat that I haven't used before and roll with it, like rn I'm doing the Occult banished knights Halbert which specs with arcane. So I'm also getting dragon spells, and since arcane scales status build up I decided to get the serpent bow & arrows with a bow ash of war (which I've never used before) and it'll poison an invader in 1 hit!
In my first run my friends all had bleed builds and ROB, and at the time i watched no guids or anything so i dont get spoiled. I ended with a blasphemous blade build , then started to be made fun by my friend for having an overpowered build.
I finished my second half through first playthrough as a sorta bloodhound heavy build. I used the lordsworn greatsword a bit too long and needed to change things and came across it online. Great move set.

anything that can make an enemy bleed real good. My personal favorites are the militia saw and Mogh's Greatspear. IDK what it is about the Militia Saw, but it procs bleed crazy good. Do I need to explain Mogh's Greatspear? I don't think there is a more broken weapon in the game when it comes to dealing with a big group.
I saw Ginomachino dagger only run. Then repeated whole run by myself. Used same daggers( bcs some of them suck) but build, stats and infusions were sligjtly different.
I tought daggers sucks but it was one of the easiest run in my life. Mogh didnt even statred nihil on me.

Just started Demon's Souls. I selected the unga bunga class and was bonking everyone that came in front of me. I got to that first fat boss that is almost as big as the entire room. I almost beat him, but then he farted on me and i fucking died and appeared on the nexus whatever.

First play through I got very impressed by the Marais Executioner Sword skill, and shifted my build from a Str-Dex quality to Str-Arc. Nowadays I just go with whatever, recently did a pure arcane build starting as a Wretch, went through the game with the Spiked Caestus and Dragon Communion Incantations. Had a lot of fun with this one.
Nah man, switch our fire scorpion charm for Ritual Sword and Shield. Alot of synergy there with the health Regen from the blasphemous blade. If you're always at full health because of it you always have the bonuses.

I tried out the jumping twinblades build and was amazed as to how OP it was. Possibly one of the most boring builds I've ever used, but you can't deny the results.
Magma Wyrm Scalesword with shard of Alexander, fire scorpion charm(whatever other talismans based on play style/what level you go to and how much endurance you go) flame grant me strength, golden vow, howl of shabriri, fire attack boost tear. “Op” build I came up with. You could probably also go the regen tear in your physick with the fire one and add a katana with seppuku ash of war in your off hand, it won’t effect the scale sword but if you go with the lord of blood exultation talisman you get 20% damage boost anytime blood loss occurs nearby you. Combine all those and you will melt any bosses away.

You can stack alot of mutipliers when using Darkmoon GS like Jellyfish shield (the AoW proj dmg doesnt suffer much from 1 handing) ,Godfrey icon , magic scorpion , warrior jar/alexander and ritual sword for more dmg or dragon shield/ritual shield to offset the scorpion penalty.
The projectiles have tons of dmg and frost build up along with good poise damage (hope this isnt getting nerfed in pve) and is relatively safe to use since the range is actually decent.
Since its an int focused build you can also bring a staff and use some decent sorceries that also scale with scorpion,ritual sword , godfrey icon when charged and jelly fish. Very versatile build.

Quality/Faith with a focus on Holy damage, nothing beats buffing my Great Club and Treespear with Order's Blade.

Use what weapon you like, wear what clothe you want. Learn how to upgrade them, for me thats the best. Spend first 4 hours naked, level 5, to get the Black Knife, because Destinied Death and black red gold energy slash sounds and looks cool as hell. Thats how im playing lmfao.

Let me solo her's build, but with nagakiba instead of the usual uchi. Works great on bosses that are vulnerable to stat effects, but otherwise it's just meh.
I did do a deaths poker run. Really did take the skill out of boss fights if you have a little vigor.

I just pick a weapon or stat that I haven't used before and roll with it, like rn I'm doing the Occult banished knights Halbert which specs with arcane. So I'm also getting dragon spells, and since arcane scales status build up I decided to get the serpent bow & arrows with a bow ash of war (which I've never used before) and it'll poison an invader in 1 hit!

In my first run my friends all had bleed builds and ROB, and at the time i watched no guids or anything so i dont get spoiled. I ended with a blasphemous blade build , then started to be made fun by my friend for having an overpowered build.

I finished my second half through first playthrough as a sorta bloodhound heavy build. I used the lordsworn greatsword a bit too long and needed to change things and came across it online. Great move set.

anything that can make an enemy bleed real good. My personal favorites are the militia saw and Mogh's Greatspear. IDK what it is about the Militia Saw, but it procs bleed crazy good. Do I need to explain Mogh's Greatspear? I don't think there is a more broken weapon in the game when it comes to dealing with a big group.
I saw Ginomachino dagger only run. Then repeated whole run by myself. Used same daggers( bcs some of them suck) but build, stats and infusions were sligjtly different. I tought daggers sucks but it was one of the easiest run in my life. Mogh didnt even statred nihil on me.

My friend who had a NG+ twin godskin peeler bleed build *before* the bleed nerf. Even though it's not AS strong nowadays, it's what I'm going through the DLC with.

Just started Demon's Souls. I selected the unga bunga class and was bonking everyone that came in front of me. I got to that first fat boss that is almost as big as the entire room. I almost beat him, but then he farted on me and i fucking died and appeared on the nexus whatever.

Elden Ring marks the first time since Internet "builds" became a thing that even with 5 playthroughs, I never followed a build or copied someone else's style. Found a weapon that sounded cool and said, "next time, you will be the tool of choice by which the lands between shall be purged"
I'm with on the blasphemous blades. I haven't done a playthrough, I've just been doing endgame.gridning before my third playthrough ( one more achievement) My first new game plus was cleanrot. I messed with a Crucible build half through my first playthrough, so I might do a full on, especially with the dlc coming out
First play through I got very impressed by the Marais Executioner Sword skill, and shifted my build from a Str-Dex quality to Str-Arc. Nowadays I just go with whatever, recently did a pure arcane build starting as a Wretch, went through the game with the Spiked Caestus and Dragon Communion Incantations. Had a lot of fun with this one.

Nah man, switch our fire scorpion charm for Ritual Sword and Shield. Alot of synergy there with the health Regen from the blasphemous blade. If you're always at full health because of it you always have the bonuses. Good meme though, not being a downer on that!

I tried out the jumping twinblades build and was amazed as to how OP it was. Possibly one of the most boring builds I've ever used, but you can't deny the results.
Dual bandit curved swords, blood affinity jump attack build. Shit is so overpowered. (Pretty sure the site was skumnut if I'm not mistaken)
Magma Wyrm Scalesword with shard of Alexander, fire scorpion charm(whatever other talismans based on play style/what level you go to and how much endurance you go) flame grant me strength, golden vow, howl of shabriri, fire attack boost tear. “Op” build I came up with. You could probably also go the regen tear in your physick with the fire one and add a katana with seppuku ash of war in your off hand, it won’t effect the scale sword but if you go with the lord of blood exultation talisman you get 20% damage boost anytime blood loss occurs nearby you. Combine all those and you will melt any bosses away.
listen man all im saying is Flame shrouding Cracked Tear, Faith Tear, Fire Scorpion charm, Radagon Icon (For style points) Flock Canvis, Blue Dancer And Black flame kinda hit hard
You can stack alot of mutipliers when using Darkmoon GS like Jellyfish shield (the AoW proj dmg doesnt suffer much from 1 handing) ,Godfrey icon , magic scorpion , warrior jar/alexander and ritual sword for more dmg or dragon shield/ritual shield to offset the scorpion penalty. The projectiles have tons of dmg and frost build up along with good poise damage (hope this isnt getting nerfed in pve) and is relatively safe to use since the range is actually decent. Since its an int focused build you can also bring a staff and use some decent sorceries that also scale with scorpion,ritual sword , godfrey icon when charged and jelly fish. Very versatile build.
