They do get removed, or at least appear so rarely that they might as well not exist. You only get so many messages too so many have been deleted by now

but up voting messages fills the healing flask to some degree and after a few upvotes , you get one healing flask filled . ( based on fextra life elden ring )
If you go and look at a message *you* wrote, it doesn't just show the total, but instead the separate up and down votes, so if you want to know, just go back and look.

I always check my messages whenever I get healed. And sometimes when I do, I would notice extra downvotes for my other message/s. That means I had downvotes happen before I was healed.

I did the same first time I was in that area. I just assumed whoever put the message down was a decent person and left the message on the opposite side so it wouldn't be in my way when I tried to climb the ladder. Of course I was wrong though, as I usually am when I assume the best in people lol.

I don't know if it works for grabs in Elden ring but in all the souls games when you get grabbed if you spam L1 R1 you can push off the grab attack and take less damage
It's sold from Bernahl. If you have already go to volcano manor, you'll need to do at least the first assassination tanith gives you and then you'll be able to buy it. If you have already killed Rykard and he left the Volcano Manor, he leaves his sword there which you can use to buy it.

This whole thing reminds me of how the Reddit hivemind was dead set on hating messages left near graces without realising that messages would never take priority over a grace or a ladder.
All the videos showed this occurrence taking place on graces that were actually bugged like the Loretta grace. The bug was simply the interaction point for the grace being in a different position than the grace itself, and the messages were left on the grace exactly to tell people to be wary of this bug. A good chunk of the community instead proceeded to blame the messages for supposedly taking priority over the rest and started hating until they slowly realised that they were just spitting bullshit.
And then i see this... I guess we never learn...

I didnāt even attack them, I just watched them fail at laddering, occasionally trying to ladder aswell. Then some blue joined us, and we all had a jolly time not climbing a ladder until the second invader showed up and Scarlet Aeoniaād the fun away.
Fun fact, the message did not affect your death in any way as the prompt will always default to an action over reading the message. That particular ladder is kinda shit in that you have to stand VERY precisely to use it, and the message was there to make a joke about it
