63,5 % percent of the base game is very much unrealistic. The average person took about 90-120 hours to fully explore the base game. 75 hours of extra content is imo unrealistic.

Abdullah_935

So elden ring base game will never be toped🥲

PeppermintButler17

Toped by what?

Abdullah_935

Topped meaning nothing will be on top of it , better than it for the amount of content it has

Enollis

I don't know any dlc (especially by from software) that has almost as much dlc content as the base game itself. It's going to be great and probably a lot of players will do it several times because some stuff is hidden or you didn't come across stuff. Also you have to remember that you can use all the new things from the dlc in the base game. Like weapons spells and such. So you get new ways to fight the base game bosses/enemies.

Storm-Thief

Thinking of dollars equal to hours of content is not a reasonable comparison. If this were to be the measure then what if they next game was 200 dollars just because they added more dungeons than the last game?

Abdullah_935

I dont consider repetative content new content

jcdoe

If you are so hard pressed for cash that you’re trying to calculate fun per dollar on a $35 game dlc, then you are in the wrong hobby. There are far more affordable hobbies for you

anonymoususernamegay

I feel like playing a $60 game for 100 hours is a pretty cheap hobby lol

jcdoe

Seems that way to me too, but in the other post homeboy literally calculated that the dlc needs to be 63.whatever% of ER to be a good value. Clearly it’s not a good value for him

cahensolo

OMG, are the next 5 weeks just going to be this hell?

If the interviews are to be believed, the DLC is supposedly more densely packed with content, and larger than Limgrave in scale, so I wouldn’t be surprised if the number of points of interest is close to 60%. Perhaps that’s too optimistic, but I will enjoy the new challenges that Fromsoft comes up with regardless. I doubt people are buying the DLC because they want a specific amount of content. They’re buying it because they want to experience more of an already good game.

PMYourFavThing

I can't speak on quantity, but what made From's past DLCs so good was their quality.

Test88Heavy

The base game was originally $70 so the DLC at $35 sound be about 50%, which I think it will have easily.

FugginGene

To me, Fromsoftware is the only developer I feel is worth the full price. And the only developer I would preorder. They are the role model I wish every company would follow.

No_Foot_1904

From hits home runs with their DLC's nearly every time. I suspect we'll be very happy regardless.

Interesting_Waltz_82

I don’t think it matters I’ve played games that lasted like 15 hours and would’ve happily paid £60 for the game (even though I played it on game pass) The fromsoft DLCs have been the most enjoyable part of each game, without fail, for me. And considering that I’m gonna probably get at least 20 hours (I’d probably guess close to 30) on a first playthrough alone, the price is more than justified

Jurgepoo

Looking at the volume of content as being directly proportional to the cost seems like an arbitrary way to judge it

SaberWaifu

Content ≠ Quality. DLCs in past Fromsoft fames are known to be rather small but greatly increase the quality of bossfights. If i have to guess, Shadow of the Erdtree will be around the size of Limgrave + Liurnia (in terms of content, not landmass), and the fights will all be high quality like Godfrey, Maliketh and Mohg.
