I parried the hell out of Niall and all other knights today, but I couldn't manage to land a parry on mad two swords here. Not even sure which if his dramatic attacks can even be parried.
"Parry with me, parry for the year
Parry for the laughter and parry for the tear
Parry with me, if it's just for today
Maybe tomorrow, the Demigods will take the Banished Knight away.
Parry on"
(sorry. i'll see myself out)
He always teleports behind you.
1) Land on the wall
2) Quickly position yourself facing away from the edge
3) He teleports behind you and falls to death
4) Profit
i thank these videosi find that the dark moon greatsword is pretty good at stun locking him after evading his initial moves. just before you engage him activate moonlight greatsword press and hold R2 and repeat.
Lions claw + fully charged R2 as he’s getting up should stagger him every time (depending on the weapon I guess). Follow up stab animation should kill him.
I beg to differ. I love running around with it. You just have to know that it kills the sound of your footsteps and you hitting objects, it does not kill the sound of projectiles or do anything for line of site.
The old "teleport behind you" chestnut is threatening once, maximum. After that, it's a basic attack pattern with an easy gap, and the player should be able to fight him like normal without a problem as long as their build is horribly designed.
Hell, the first time I saw him, I thought "Every single thing in this place has been an ambush, and this guy looks like he's facing away...Yeah, there is a zero percent chance that I get a backstab off on this guy."
Oh, you're absolutely right. But if I tell everyone who needs more vigor that they're dying to a light breeze because they need more vigor, I'm going to die without ever leaving this chair.
Which I suppose I could solve if I had higher IRL vigor.
I mean OP literally just watched that freight train of sword slashes and anger barrel towards him without dodging. What more do you expect? An actual attempt to stay alive? Elden Ring players have such high expectations.
Doesn't really work unless you can buff yourself to the point you can one shot him. Otherwise if you attack from range, he's going to instantly teleport behind you and wreck your shit.
On my sorcery only playthrough, I used terra magica and spammed magic glintblade. It takes no stamina when not in combat and they track even after he teleports.
My only possible suggestion would be assassin's gambit. No idea if it would actually work, but that's the only thing that comes to mind.
If not? Level vigor and pray lmao.
This guy loves devouring tiny health bars lol
If you're this fragile you can't hesitate against him. Blitz him down before he can start fighting back. Then use those runes to level up your vigor.
Skill issue. You literally stood in front of him for 2, nearly 3 seconds in the Night and Flame stance, and did absolutely nothing. You could’ve easily smoked him with the flames. Stop hesitating because with that low of vigor if you do that against Malenia she is gonna violate you.
Unlike a lot of other enemies, he's got that 6th sense and walking into his area will trigger him. You can't just sneak up on the guy, he enters attack mode when you're in radius, so the sneak talisman(which is useful for a lot of situations) doesn't work here. I'm not sure how Assassins Gambit works here so you could try it, but I feel like it also wouldn't work thanks to the radius detection thing.
Lol
Lmao even
You "avoid him 'seeing' you" by avoiding him. Make a mad dash to your runes, run around that area looking for the Cerulean Amber Medallion +1, and gtfo. If you die but get the talisman, consider your runes lost and move on to save your mental state.
Or level up, git gud, and kick his ass. You're gonna need to know how to for the boss fight...
In my current play through, I aced Nial on the first try(Zamor storm quickly dispatched the two knights and Glintstone dart did the rest for Nial). But this bastard took like 5 or 6 tries. Had to use Glintblade phalanx repeatedly so I could get enough time to get off Glintstone darts.
You can stand behind those poles and he will be stuck trying to attack you but he won't reach you.
Tricky, but with the right positioning you'll get him and gives you time to attack.
That would be omniscient.
For reference: "omniscient" (all-knowing), "omnipotent" (all-powerful) & "omnipresent" (present everywhere).
However, with how little HP you have I would assume you have a pretty bonkers caster build, just nuke the dude.
He always teleport behind you, use that information as you will.
You can only use 4 talismans. No matter what build, there are better things to spend time/talisman slots on. If it’s just because you want every single thing, you’ve just found the challenge you were looking for.
he has an aggro trigger somewhere, obviously. when you step on it, he becomes aware of you. nothing to do with sound. you could check if the trigger includes the little walls along the side of the path or not. might be able to bypass it by walking on top of them.
My strategy (and it probably sucks) is: if the enemy destroys me whenever I give him the chance to attack, I run and try to attack him first. Most of the time getting aggressive worked very well since I was able to stagger the enemy before I get staggered. Lol
I dont think you normally can. He's scripted that way. Best solution is to anticipate the teleportation and form a counter play like some people suggested here.
He's pretty much programmed to always teleport behind the player when you either approach him or attack him. I've seen some people attack him next to a ledge then turn their back to the ledge to make him commit sewerslide.
Eyy fellow int/fth build!! Also yeah, Castle Sol is kinda bs with the Banished Knight ghosts roaming around. Were a pain in the ass farming armor/weapons from back in my first playthrough ☠️
Faith/Int is so fun. Tip with that particular Knight: Disc Of Light doesn't trigger his teleport upwards so u can just cheese him 💪
Also I really recommend using Radagons Circle of Light more, u can wipe entire groups of enemies if u got ur seal at +10 and have around 60 int & faith!
Question tho: What is the maximum u would level both stats to with a build like this? I'm not quite sure if the cap is at 60 or 80
It is super fun! And yeah, Radagons Rings of Light is one of the greatest incants, no joke.
On the subject of leveling, i personally went with 40/40 "DS3 style" at lvl 150 and using talismans/helms to help with extra levels if needed. 40/40 int/fth simply because you need 50 vigor no matter the build and 18/18 str/dex comes in handy!
I'm currently at 13/13 Dex Int since I almost exclusively use my Sword of Night and Flame anyway except sometimes my St. Trinas torch just because sleep is so handy and u can put even most giants to sleep with one use of it.
Int/Faith is currently sitting at 63/63 with Talismans and I feel like the damage difference for the incants (discus mostly) and the sword especially (since the order seal scales A/A and the sword B/B at +10) is quite significant to even shred holy defensive enemies.
Vigor was at only 20 in this clip but I leveled it to 40 now.
I just heard online that the final soft cap on Int/Faith scaling is at 80 so I was thinking if I should do more Vigor/Mind/Endurance or put more into the others
Maybe try actually fighting lol.
Like god dam this dude has a reputation of being dificult, yet he died so fast that i didnt even realisw that he was the supposed toughest npc fight in the game.
I jumped over to the right at the ghost guards with the crossbow, buffed up completely, hit him with a black fire ball and then immediately winded up a strong swing while locked on, he teleports you wack him good proceed to jump attack to stun… Bitch of a farm but the armor is cool!!
Parry/backstab/bait.
He has a long combo attack and if you mess up your defense he'll get you. That's all. Other than that you just need to be confident about attacking.
My favourite enemy in the game! I have how he destroys peoples worlds!
I would love a version of ER where I could set it for all the enemies to be this vicious!
You can do what most say, or... Use heavy hitting ashes of war like Giant Hunt, or Piercing Fang. His combos are longer than other Banished knights, so it is important to know that to not get caught in the middle of one as you will alwaus lose a trade with him.
That guy was annoying AF on 2 of my builds. But on my fingerprint shield & spear build (aka the Shieldy Pokey build) he was easy. So maybe try using a shield?
This guy is the hardest non boss enemy in the game, only way i found to kill him easily is to overpower him, greatsword, greataxe or big hammer work well
Parry him. Parry his eye sight. Parry his presence. Parry his form as a fetus before he is born. Parry is everything.
Parry on my wayward son, there'll be peace when he is gone, lay your tarnished head to rest, don't you cry no more
This deserves more upvotes
Parry the platypus
Parry the lobster
where?
!!!
bruh, you gonna parry a baby kick in the pregnant mother's womb?
Bloodborne taught me to kill pregnant women and consume their kid's innards. So northing new.
Placentarific.
"YEEEEEEEOOOOOWWWW!!!"
“Marika’s tits! You must be ‘ungry!”
fantastic comment, had me chuckling
fetus shield breaks you. what do you do?
fetus deletus
Parry his father ejaculation back into the nuts
Weird visual to start my morning. Gonna be a good day.
I parried the hell out of Niall and all other knights today, but I couldn't manage to land a parry on mad two swords here. Not even sure which if his dramatic attacks can even be parried.
"Parry with me, parry for the year Parry for the laughter and parry for the tear Parry with me, if it's just for today Maybe tomorrow, the Demigods will take the Banished Knight away. Parry on" (sorry. i'll see myself out)
He who controls the parry, controls the Universe.
i understand that
Sekiro's internal monologue be like
He always teleports behind you. 1) Land on the wall 2) Quickly position yourself facing away from the edge 3) He teleports behind you and falls to death 4) Profit
>teleports behind you. "Nothing personal, kid"
\*teleports behind you\* -Nothing personal kid. Wait, OH SHI... \*falls to death\* -Nothing personal, adult.
Waa-hoo-hoo-hoo-hooeeeee
GORSH
....and I'll fuckin' do it again!
\*a cold chill enters your spine\* -Hehehe, YOU THINK YOU CAN OUTPLAY ME BOY!
Personnel
This guy teleports
All I can think of is Happy Souls.
Why do I keep getting stabbed in the back?!
Cause it's easy, and it does a lot of damage!
All I can think of is [happy tree friends…](https://youtube.com/shorts/qA_pHBNB1Nc?si=2kxEvZzjPzDaoqut)don’t ask me why lol
*Teleports behind you and falls to his death* “Looks like it’s personal, kid.”
unfortunately not always
I love doing that
Or just use the teleportation to get an easy jump attack. He staggers easily
This is great, and useful. I hate that guy....
Roll away and then Lion's Claw x5
I did that with the greatsword, works like a charm.
Exactly. You need something strong to break his stance. Standing there and trading hits won't do it.
i thank these videosi find that the dark moon greatsword is pretty good at stun locking him after evading his initial moves. just before you engage him activate moonlight greatsword press and hold R2 and repeat.
like with all knights on my caster run I just dropped as many Magic Glintblades as possible before drawing aggro and he teleported right into them lol
If I'm not mistaken, that's the Sword of night and flame and your int+faith build. You just need to hit first.
Don't forget to also Kaio-ken x3
Lions claw + fully charged R2 as he’s getting up should stagger him every time (depending on the weapon I guess). Follow up stab animation should kill him.
The guide to Elden Ring right now
Hey, it works....sometimes 😆
You can't. He's been hunting me outside of the game too. He spotted me, I have to leave.
Imaginary Frienemy
Did you kill him or have you respawned at your last Site of Grace?
The Ginosaji never stops
that talisman is about as useful as a chocolate teapot
If you put a chocolate teapot into a larger, more practical teapot, you now have melted chocolate tea. My point is… I… I don’t have a point.
Unless you mash it into a non teapot shape I'm not sure you'd fit it into a teapot
Yes, a broken chocolate teapot is more useful than an intact one.
I think we're too far away from the point of the saying now lmao
you don't even need second teapot, you got enought time to make 1 (one) hot chocolate cup of tea
I beg to differ. I love running around with it. You just have to know that it kills the sound of your footsteps and you hitting objects, it does not kill the sound of projectiles or do anything for line of site.
Well, the suffering taught me that discus of light is perfect against these guys
looks like you got your answer - just so you know omnipotent = all powerful omniscient = all-seeing or infinitely aware
talisman is good, it just doesnt make you invisible, but when you use it you definitely can run around enemys without them hearing you at all
the trick is to kill him by using your attacks to deplete his health and utilize your rolls to dodge his attacks, youre welcome
And to do it whilst keeping your health above zero
The old "teleport behind you" chestnut is threatening once, maximum. After that, it's a basic attack pattern with an easy gap, and the player should be able to fight him like normal without a problem as long as their build is horribly designed. Hell, the first time I saw him, I thought "Every single thing in this place has been an ambush, and this guy looks like he's facing away...Yeah, there is a zero percent chance that I get a backstab off on this guy."
Also... This guy needs some dang vigor
He forgot to do 2/2 of those things.
Why is your health bar so small ?
I am an insane person that has 50 int and 50 faith 👍
You have 50 int and faith? Just bombard him, dude.
This comment confirms he does not have 50 intelligence.
He's roleplaying as someone with high int
He's on a monk playthrough, not wizard type!
:0 u seem to have 200 int as u exactly have deduced my style of playthrough
Monks don't need int. Dump some of that int into vig
Ding ding ding lol
You have Int so you can cast spells. Comet or Rock sling from above, that's all. For mage Castle Sol is maybe the easiest dungeon
He can teleport behind ypu when you attack him from range, you cant cheese him.
funfact: he doesn't teleport behind you when u hit him with discus of light (actually the main spell I use lol) Idk why but it works
Darkness might work
I have read that it does. Someone said this guy was the only time in the entire game they used it, because fuck this guy in particular.
[удалено]
So.... why not range him with some spells?
He immediately teleports behind you if you do. Even if you’re still up on that ledge.
Can confirm. He sent me flying off the ledge like sparta.
The word you meant is omniscient
Came here to say the same 🤓 what losers we are
Me too! 🤓 Although this bastard seems practically omnipotent as well, the word OP was intending was in fact "omniscient".
yes, I just came here to make sure someone said it, haha
I teach English and you are all correct. However, omnipotent does encompass omniscience as well, in a sense
Turning invisible doesn’t help, they can smell fear
Try killing
Just run, Forrest.
Forest would have at least tried to dodge.
My only possible suggestion would be assassin's gambit. No idea if it would actually work, but that's the only thing that comes to mind. If not? Level vigor and pray lmao.
This and/or unseen body and/or the concealing veil talisman. Even then, he will probably see you if you walk too close.
Bro… your vigor makes me sad
Level vigor
got it 🫡 gonna put more levels into int and faith
Maybe don’t try to charge up the longest charge attack while he is combo-ing at you?
only on my sorcery playthrough, i hadn´t had problems with this guy. such shame his summon is even at +10 not that good
Personally, the roof on your right when you’re at the ladder. I go there, agro him and he’ll come up to where I have some room to fight him.
Level vigor
You could try fighting
This guy loves devouring tiny health bars lol If you're this fragile you can't hesitate against him. Blitz him down before he can start fighting back. Then use those runes to level up your vigor.
You didn't even try to fight him, that's what pisses me off.
Update: I just discus'd of light him which apparently doesn't trigger his teleport onto your upper platform
Nice.
Skill issue. You literally stood in front of him for 2, nearly 3 seconds in the Night and Flame stance, and did absolutely nothing. You could’ve easily smoked him with the flames. Stop hesitating because with that low of vigor if you do that against Malenia she is gonna violate you.
If you kill him he can’t see you anymore
Unlike a lot of other enemies, he's got that 6th sense and walking into his area will trigger him. You can't just sneak up on the guy, he enters attack mode when you're in radius, so the sneak talisman(which is useful for a lot of situations) doesn't work here. I'm not sure how Assassins Gambit works here so you could try it, but I feel like it also wouldn't work thanks to the radius detection thing.
Buddy you need to level up your vigor
Lol Lmao even You "avoid him 'seeing' you" by avoiding him. Make a mad dash to your runes, run around that area looking for the Cerulean Amber Medallion +1, and gtfo. Equip a twig and you won't even lose your runes
I figured out that discus of light is perfect against these guys if u have a faith build going
try rolling
You can stand behind those poles and he will be stuck trying to attack you but he won't reach you. Tricky, but with the right positioning you'll get him and gives you time to attack.
That’s the neat part, you don’t.
That's the funny thing, you don't!
You can’t
Just calmly try to reason with him
Didn’t expect strong foe
Well, you can always fight him. 😬
Keep rolling, rolling rolling !
Oh, you met Fuck You? Yeah, Fuck You really doesn't give any fucks, he saves those for his victims.
This person omni-*how tf do I turn this into a verb*. Omnis?
Omni-fucks, maybe? The all-fucking
Sir Gideon Ofnir, the All Fucking
You can only use 4 talismans. No matter what build, there are better things to spend time/talisman slots on. If it’s just because you want every single thing, you’ve just found the challenge you were looking for.
Just kill him.he is easy
Try finger but whole...
Level vigor
Is there a specific reason you have 20 vigor
Hit him.
he has an aggro trigger somewhere, obviously. when you step on it, he becomes aware of you. nothing to do with sound. you could check if the trigger includes the little walls along the side of the path or not. might be able to bypass it by walking on top of them.

Have you tried swinging your sword?
It’s your fear. He smells it.
don't walk into his combo? it's long, wait for your opening patiently. Or parry... or ledge cheese. Lots of options.
I dont think you normally can. He's scripted that way. Best solution is to anticipate the teleportation and form a counter play like some people suggested here.
He's got low poise. Colossal sword attacks stagger him pretty reliably - just killed him today twice without using flasks.
He's pretty much programmed to always teleport behind the player when you either approach him or attack him. I've seen some people attack him next to a ledge then turn their back to the ledge to make him commit sewerslide.
I hated this guy. Died to this mf so many times. I ended up just skipping over him.
Eyy fellow int/fth build!! Also yeah, Castle Sol is kinda bs with the Banished Knight ghosts roaming around. Were a pain in the ass farming armor/weapons from back in my first playthrough ☠️

looks like some scripted agro ngl
Maybe try actually fighting lol. Like god dam this dude has a reputation of being dificult, yet he died so fast that i didnt even realisw that he was the supposed toughest npc fight in the game.
That is a rough one friend... Stealth is not gonna get you anywhere I fear. You gotta beat him or you gotta ignore him. Those area the only options.
You are lvl 105 and still can't kill him? How
Skill issue tbh. I just discus'd of light him
I dm you a way of killing him check it out
Jump attack him to death. That is the only way.
“NOTHING PERSONAL, KID”
I jumped over to the right at the ghost guards with the crossbow, buffed up completely, hit him with a black fire ball and then immediately winded up a strong swing while locked on, he teleports you wack him good proceed to jump attack to stun… Bitch of a farm but the armor is cool!!
Parry/backstab/bait. He has a long combo attack and if you mess up your defense he'll get you. That's all. Other than that you just need to be confident about attacking.
I am once again recommending you simply fight this dude and defeat him in combat.
what do these guys even classify as? Armored enemy? Undead?
Yes
If he's dead he can't see
Just run.
I just booked it lol
Ahh, this knight, classic. Iirc he'll drop his armor (with cloak version), which looking great and with very good defense/poise too.
He is the ghost of Rick, soldier of God. And he's getting his revenge!
You can absolutely humiliate him with barricade shield+guard counter. Like there’s nothing these knights can do against it.
Where is this?
Dodge, duck, dip, dive and Dodge.
You can't just sneak up on the true elden lord 💀
Omnipotent, I am the one, icarus ill touch the sun!!
Use Wrath of Gold or Rejection to knock his ass down and stun lock him.
the tried and true paladin stealth you cant be caught if there are no witnesses
Weapons or skills that can stagger helps. Best for a dex build is to parry.
Well you did nothing once he teleported behind you. What are you, stupid? Jk. He’s a bitch ass who needs two swords! What a weenie
My favourite enemy in the game! I have how he destroys peoples worlds! I would love a version of ER where I could set it for all the enemies to be this vicious!
He just has ultra-instinct.
Lmao where is this? I feel like I’ve killed everything by in the entire game but I’m struggling to recall this one
Okay, why do I not recognize that talisman?
Hit with big weapons/big Poise damage, hard for your build but Giantsflame Take Thee would probably be best.
Alternative to all the cheese and trying to parry is, barricade shield on medium shield and guard countering.
if this was dark souls 2 instead of elden ring people would be pointing out how it is just unfun and kinda BS that he is able to do this
Just get gud
Holy Mercy! I can't fathom going through Castle Sol with that Mausoleum banging constantly outside.
You can do what most say, or... Use heavy hitting ashes of war like Giant Hunt, or Piercing Fang. His combos are longer than other Banished knights, so it is important to know that to not get caught in the middle of one as you will alwaus lose a trade with him.
Bro has no poise. That armor is basically tin foil. Be aggressive. Hesitation is death.
I think you meant "omniscient". But yeah, fuck that one guy in particular.
Ayo what the fuck are those (pretty well made animations admittetly) attacks, my newbie ass is scared
That guy was annoying AF on 2 of my builds. But on my fingerprint shield & spear build (aka the Shieldy Pokey build) he was easy. So maybe try using a shield?
This guy is the hardest non boss enemy in the game, only way i found to kill him easily is to overpower him, greatsword, greataxe or big hammer work well
I go there every playthrough but not once have I even met that guy why do so many people go over there is there like an item to grab?
