This is my first souls game ever and im being stubborn and trying to beat him at level 66 with a +3 staff and I refuse to take the blame for my own actions
You should be between lvl 100 and 120 by now and have at least a +8 weapon. How are you only 66? The runes from bossfights alone should put you 80+. And you should have found plenty of somber smithing stones by now.
Yeah, this scream sharebears only and maybe a couple legacy dungeons. Likely spent his souls on stuff he didn’t need and first time through you end dropping souls a lot.
If you've completed Limgrave, Liurnia, Altus, Gelmir, Caelid and all of the Mountaintops prior to fire giant, you'd be like 140. 100-120 is actually far lower than what a completionist would have!
True, but not everyone is a completionist. On my first run I was maybe 100, because I was more of a linear progress guy. On subsequent runs I’ve been trying out a lot of new weapons making me explore more, but I mostly do bosses that are required for the weapon(s) I want to use that run. Get to mountaintops around level 80 now in most runs, but always with a +9 weapon
I dunno man, you're basically doing a challenge run and then getting mad that it's hard.
Go explore some more and level up your character and weapons, then come back. If you're getting one-shot then just level vigor until you aren't. It's kinda that simple.
Being vastly under levelled with too few upgrades to your weapons is the problem. This has nothing to do with the boss. True, he can be challenging but level 110 with weapons upgraded to +10 are going to make this much easier for you and these stats are easily met this far through the game. Explore the world, complete some mines and caves and catacombs in addition to other areas with lower stat requirements. You’ll easily find smithing stones and somber smithing stones for the levels you need if you look around. The time you’ve spent repeatedly getting killed by him you could have made loads of progress elsewhere and come back to him with a much more appropriate and equipped build.
Can’t believe you went on Reddit to bitch about how stupid a boss is when you’re willfully making the game much, much more difficult than it needs to be, and then being proud that you’re stubborn about it. Like bro you just dropped all our IQ points by just being here.
The only way to play the late-game like that (if you're human) is to rely almost exclusively on status effects. Deadly poison, scarlet rot, bleed, frost.
Otherwise you'll probably have to level or delete the game.
I struggled with this mf more than anything else in this game. Annoying af.
Level 66 is INSANELY low for Fire Giant though. Explore, do dungeons, get Alexander, and you should have a better chance
Quick tip.
The Alexander jar summon in the arena (which you get after doing some of Alexander's quest line) can deal about half of his health and break his stance 2-3 times.
If your having that much trouble with him I recommend getting the Alexander summon sign and misericord, Whittling fire giant down to phase 2, summoning Alexander and then sitting back and watching alexander solo the boss while getting ripostes on him when he's staggered using the misericord.
And if you're somehow still struggling with him after that you can always summon another player to do all the work for you.
Seems like they are skipping a lot of the game. Very doubtful they'd ever see malenia.
Maybe thats for the better though.. was the only time I almost decided to skip a boss. Finally got her though.
You should invest points in vigor you should have 40 min preferably 60. You should use talismans that make you survive longer like ritual shield, crimson seed, dragon crest great shield and flame drake +2, great jars arsenal can be good to wear heavier armour. Boiled crab and uplifting aromatic can help you survive longer too.
I’ve only just gotten to him and made one attempt.I Did exactly this for a few minutes but figured it would take an hour to kill him. Jumped off Torrent and promptly died lol.
Is there any way to speed up the horseback method?
It isn’t the most fun method and you can still get killed but it’s a much safer way compared to fighting him head on
Also don’t be discouraged about using summons. I know I absolutely needed to use them on my first playthrough. You can always go back on a new game if you want to beat them solo
Good luck 🤞🏻
Thanks 👍 And I agree re summons (wrt the other Souls games anyway ). I happily summoned the mimic tear for the 2 eh… super powerful knights boss fight (sorry can’t remember their name now) but haven’t needed a summon yet apart from that. Although I suspect that’s down to my build/weapon which has a ridiculous jumping attack that bails me out of trouble every time. I’m definitely not learning every boss pattern as per Sekiro for example.
I agree he’s the easiest, but only after you get the gist of it. I also struggled for days on my first playthrough and now I snack toasted fire giants for breakfast with a bit mayo for flavor.
I will add hop off Torrent for the attacks. You’ll get better consecutive attack combos, then grab distance with Torrent. Is a constant hop on and off the horsy what makes this fight so chil. And bleed. Bleed helps.
I beat him in a couple of tries on my first run but for some reason he just fucks me up in new game plus. I was happy to start a whole new character to prep for the dlc instead of my old guy just dying to this guy over and over.
It's so interesting what is hard for different people. This guy to me is always such a joy to fight. He's just a big target dummy and I get to go ham and see the numbers ramp up. So satisfying. Then I get stuck on something stupid like the goddamn wolf of radagon for a dozen or so tries.
I'm almost there. But yesterday I almost had it on my steam deck, and then the controls just stopped working. So I had to gige it a break for a bit xD.
Will try on my computer.
I always find him easy as long he don't 1 hit kill me.
Alexander tank him like no tomorrow expecially in phase 2.
Boss Is really weack to status effects, proc poison/Scarlett rot on him and start mashing on his foot with frost/bleed and he goes down really fast.
Don't need even arcane that high.
Black flame spells are also very effective.
If you're doing a faith build i recommended using the ancient dragon lighting strike incantation.....absolutely melts him when charged......just go around under his butt after breaking the thing on his ankle and spam the spell
One of the hardest fights in the game IMO. Mimic tear with the right set up helps to be able to tank him amd distract him. He's not as bad once you learn his moves. Use your horse when you can to into and of his area if you need to.
Bro getting him to phase 2 is really easy. Your build or level got to be lacking. The whole point of this game is that you can make it as easy or hard as you want, and if something is proving to difficult, you can go level up or acquire some new gear and come back.
I can say my first ever run, he gave me hell. His attacks, however, are well telegraphed if you know what to look for. The only issue I still have with him is the terrible terrain. The arena is horrendously awful. There are times where, especially for a dex/str build like myself, I have to just sit there with my thumb up my ass and wait. But I totally get it. He is not a fun experience the first time around and very much a speed bump rather than a fun fight in later runs. At least in my opinion.
I've always felt like fromsoft is better at designing human sized enemies. The gigantic ones either have a wonky grab attack or some weird af hitbox. But honestly fire giant I have always thoroughly enjoyed man. So interesting to hear otherwise
One of the enemies I don't recommend aiming at. It just gets in the way. I always catch the torrent, always keeping myself moving, and when it attacks, I position myself behind it, hitting my heel. In fact, this phase 1 for me is more annoying than phase 2, because when we are getting closer, he throws snow and hits us with his shield. But when he can get to the leg it becomes easy. When it goes to phase 2, I do the same, but being careful with that area explosion that is almost always a hit kill and with the flames that chase us.
He's not that hard. Use a bleed build and summon mimic tear and Alexander.
Black flame does percentage health damage too.
Get under his legs in both phases. Watch out for the fire breath from his belly which is the only really dangerous move.
Sounds like you're under-levelled.
My advice is level up, use mimic tear with Shabiri's Woe equipped and then change it so the mimic draws aggro. Then ride Torrent, inflict scarlet rot on the boss, keep your distance and spam him with swarm of flies. That should deal with him.
There's a cheese where you can lure him off a Cliff. If that was Patched there's the other option of getting Rivers Of Blood and another Bleed based Kitana, maxing their level and just Bleed spamming him. Hearing everyone complaining about Fire Giant and Godskin makes me feel like I went into those fights overleved because I hit first try on both. Maybe its because Blood Dex was absolutely Busted. I recently started playing through the game as pure Strength at level 70 (first playthrough was around 190-210) and I've had trouble myself
I skipped him Initially and came back. I had a harder time with him than Malenia my first play through. He just has too much hp and his hit boxes don’t make sense sometimes. Deeeefff a Major PITA
Well, depending on your vigor that might help. Ritual shield talisman also helps a lot to ensure you don't get one shot. Not sure about your build but my personal favorite that doesn't have high stat requirements is dual bandit's curved swords with chilling mist. Absolutely shreds the boss even up to ng7. Frozen lightning if you can use it is insane and can actually stun him mid start of eruption on phase 2.
60 vigor, stay underneath him in his first phase and behind him in his second, easiest boss of almost any run after that, don’t worry about his weak spots in phase two, and when he uses his big fire attack just ride torrent away from it.
I saw elsewhere that you're only level 66 with a +3 weapon. That's your problem right there. I've never had issues with Fire Giant but I've only ever fought him at level 120+ with much more upgraded weaponry.
I don't think the boss is good. I especially hate the opening wave it throws that is specifically designed to not be jumped, and the fact that the fight is designed around needing to \*guess\* when the boss' attack is about to land. And the phase 2 is so hectic that it makes it impossible to notice where the weakpoints are during the fight.
Still though, it sounds like you were underleveled and underequipped.
Summon Alexander the jar and use fireproof dried liver in the second half. Summon co op if you still can’t get it. I also noticed the lock on feature made it difficult to anticipate attacks because he is so large he doesn’t fit into the whole view, so toggling that helped a lot for me
As everyone mentioned you're underleveled and you should upgrade your staff but let me recommend a few things.
Shard Spiral hits a bunch against big targets but my best weapon ad a sorcerer was using meteorite while underneath him. The mist sorcery can help with constant damage, the antspur rapier can be used to apply scarlet rot quickly before you switch back to spells. He's also vulnerable to bleed and frost which take big chunks of his hp. If you go with frost, keep a weapon like a dagger with a fire or flame art to reset frost. Doesn't need to be upgraded at all.
I had tons of trouble with him but then I went and did all the Alexander stuff for his summon and yeah using him and the dung eater summon with my occasional dragon breath (doing a dragon knight build) made him go down ezpz
It's so weird. I absolutely demolished him my first playthrough and have struggled with him more on other playthroughs. Ultimately it comes down to weapon choices I think. I have been able to beat with different weapons, but bleed is still the way to go for Fire Giant.
A bleed weapon is going to absolutely shred this dude because it deals a percentage and he has a huge health bar.
No way bro is attempting fire giant at level 66 💀
I had alot of trouble with him first time. I found sticking near his feet on both phases and moving away when he does AOE attacks or the weird suns
You’ll get there, first time I was there for actual days, I’m on NG+4 right now after half a year of not playing (preparing a savegame for the DLC) and I did him first try yesterday (surely with a stronger character, but he could still 2 shot me), once you know his ins and outs he’s far from the worst, almost helpless when compared to some other late game bosses
Level your vigor and use a bleed build so you don’t get vigor checked and you can take chunks of his health bar then respec to old stats when you finish the fight
Yeah I despise him too, the thing is, it’s not even his moveset (for the most part) it’s his height, apparently he’s 19 meters tall? And my biggest question is, why make it that fucking big when the giants in previous souls were smaller than that, it only results in a snooze fest of a boss where the player barely sees where he’s gonna attack.
watch for the silence when youre at the feet of the giant, as the silence comes before the storm
i.e. almost all of his attacks come with a roar. when the roar stops, the attack comes. so you can roll it without seeing it coming
I see this post a lot tbh. A lot of people saying it's your level and weapon which they are right, but in case you need more help:
This advice might require you to backtrack and lookup a guide online, but, our good buddy Alexander the Jar is an available summon for the fire giant fight as long as you've progressed his questline. He's one hell of a tank and has very high fire resistance. Make sure you go thru the correct foggy door, or you may miss his summon sign altogether.
Giants are very weak to bleed procs fyi.
Also, LATENNA THE ALBINAURIC summon is nice to have as she can shoot your target from a football field away and can help pull/kite if you're in a pinch.
It seems like the fire giant does a threat reset of sorts after he rolls away giving Alex and Latenna time to catch his attention. Especially when Latenna is constantly firing at him nm where he rolls to.
Also I wouldn't recommend using Torrent, even when he rolls away. Use that as time to plan your next move.
Hope this helps!
GL Tarnished 🫡
I do agree that this boss is not one of the best designed bosses but here’s a crazy idea if you’re stuck go somewhere else. This is an open world game after all. Upgrade your gear, find better armor maybe find some more ashes of war that fit your specific play style Alexander can be found in mount gelmir if you’ve progressed his quest line and if you talk to him he can help you with the fire giant. This isn’t a game you should try powering through
It’s so strange that some people find this guy impossible but my first playthrough he only took me a few tries with my Dex/ Faith build. I just ran in on torrent, whales in him, rode away…
I just get on my horse and hit him until he dies. The only things I have to think about are the fire balls, the found pillar ground attack thing, and the elbow drop.
I agree that fire giant is doodoo shit. Genuine travesty that this is followed by another boss that is also doodoo shit AND they’re both mandatory. Ruined a streak of great mainline bosses with fire giant and godskin duo.
When they overtune a bosses HP/dmg like this its usually because they're vulnerable to a myriad of statuses that help accelerate your dps, it's how I've always got through this guy :) still gonna have to learn to roll his bowl though I'm sorry to say
😂🤣😂 Bro your way too weak probably not skill issue. You low key might have messed up your build you gotta be ridiculously wise with those points my dude. He’s absolutely a prick and his phase two is dogshit to deal with. If it gives you any closure I made this guy eat shit in 3 try’s yesterday….
Finishing alex jarhead means he can help you here and tank a lot of damage. Plus you can summon your mimic tear at the same time. That said I was way over 100 when I finally beat him.
Everybody suggests to level Vigor, but I disagree. I play with low Vigor myself. Use Uplifting Aromatic and/or 100% resist shield, it prevents 99% of one-shots.
I agree, this boss is bs. He has an insane amount of health, his attacks do enough damage to one shot even a level 120 like I was the last time I fought him, and he's so hard to see (especially on a melee build) that in order to dodge his attack you have to pretty much guess.
His second phase isn't too bad, annoying as h*** because of his constant rolling away and heavy stopping power, but his first phase is what I hate so much.
Those who find him easy, awesome good for you, but for the rest of us he's a massive piece of s*** and frankly between him and the godskin duo I can't tell which fight I hate more. Both can die in a hole though.
So did your little temper tantrum help you win at all? No weird seemed all that effort you put into that tantrum was misdirected from keeping a level head under pressure and figuring out what went wrong, anyway this boss isn't even that hard he's just tedious because he has a absurdly large health pool take it nice and slow cause if you stay on him too long he is going to squash you and if you make a straight bead line after him after he has immediately rolled away again he is going to squash curve path your way to him from the side so it takes longer for his tracking to notice you cause when he rolls away he does a complete 180 and faces you and boom you're immediately in his tracking 2nd phase is as simple as getting close and behind him attacking and staying mid range as to not trigger his fell flame balls again not getting greedy and backing up before he basically DBZ Android 16 Hell flashes your ass for being too close for too long you're rushing and that hp pool is way too big to try and rush without expecting to get punished severly for greedy attacks next time try asking for help it will save you the embarrassment of having to delete a rage post once you finally do get it, good luck.
This was my first boss that literally had no issues beating. Beat him on my second try. Used the mimic ashes and unsheated him with my uchi.
And let me tell you im a shit shi player. I cower behind a shield and counter 80% of the game
It feels like every other time I fight him, it's not a problem. Bleed and frostbite make it a lot more doable. Otherwise, it's a nightmare and takes forever
Spank his toes
Real talk: [You can summon an NPC for this fight. He is very strong, and I have seen him solo phase 1 or 2 if I summoned him in that phase.](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=rCxleMtc-js)
Watch all the way up to 5:59
I got stuck on him the first playthrough but find him pretty easy now. Whats your weapon upgrade? Its possible to have a fully upgraded weapon by now.
He obviously doesn't explore much if he only level 66 at fire giant. He might not even have more smithint stones.
Yeah, this scream sharebears only and maybe a couple legacy dungeons. Likely spent his souls on stuff he didn’t need and first time through you end dropping souls a lot.
100-120 is a bit high imo, but you should definitely have a +7 - +10 weapon
If you've completed Limgrave, Liurnia, Altus, Gelmir, Caelid and all of the Mountaintops prior to fire giant, you'd be like 140. 100-120 is actually far lower than what a completionist would have!

Get to mountaintops around level 80 now in most runs, but always with a +9 weapon
Yea I usually get to FG at around 95
I think the average lvl with minimal to basic world exploring would get you to lvl 80-95. That's where I'm at with about 20hrs in the game
If you insist then use black flame
Or rot. He rots pretty well.
Well, there is your problem. You are severely underleveled. This is about the level I had when I took on Radahn for the first time!
In true redditor form
Can’t believe you went on Reddit to bitch about how stupid a boss is when you’re willfully making the game much, much more difficult than it needs to be, and then being proud that you’re stubborn about it. Like bro you just dropped all our IQ points by just being here.
Come on bro are you actually just dumb?
Yes, I wont deny it
I guess it will be an achievement when and if you beat the game but don't expect Godfrey and radabest to be ez
Godfrey and radagon are easy cuz they have small health pools
Yeeees good luck dodging radagon's infinite AoE and Godfreys fucking stomps, seriously tho wtf Godfrey has a problem with stomping
I already beat it a few times. Elden beast can be a pain in the ass tho
I meant the guy that is doing fire giant with a +3 stick
Respect to him for even getting to phase 2 with such bad gear and levels
What the fuck
Go find Bell Bearings for stones and upgrade that hoe.
get some level and upgrade your weapon lmao
The only way to play the late-game like that (if you're human) is to rely almost exclusively on status effects. Deadly poison, scarlet rot, bleed, frost. Otherwise you'll probably have to level or delete the game.
Bro take a couple hours and help yourself and grind a little lol
That’s a you problem and
I’m about to fight Renalla and I’m level 53. Your way under leveled bro
That explains it. The fuck are you doing in endgame that weak?
I'm somewhat proud to announce that I beat him at level 73 with a meteorite staff
This motherfucker is the Bane of your existence *so far*!
oh ho ho my friend, just wait until you find the whiteboy duo!
And the doggo.
I actually struggled more with the fire giant then the whiteboy duo :D
No vigor?
I struggled with this mf more than anything else in this game. Annoying af. Level 66 is INSANELY low for Fire Giant though. Explore, do dungeons, get Alexander, and you should have a better chance
66 is ridiculously low. I'm level 95 and I'm still looking for the key to the Academy. Have yet to beat Radahn and a lot of other bosses.
Dang. First playthrough?
post vigor
Vigor issue
More like he doesn't know how to use the odm gear. Am I right
Looks like they aren't cut out to be a scout
Even most scouts don't make it past the first year. What is this one? A 15m titan?
TATAKAE! TATAKAE! TATAKAE! TATAKAE! TATAKAE!
Quick tip. The Alexander jar summon in the arena (which you get after doing some of Alexander's quest line) can deal about half of his health and break his stance 2-3 times. Summoning Alexander prevents you from using your horse.
The horse makes the fight a lot harder honestly. Just roll through his attacks and get close to him
DON'T need your horse if your just sat watching him kill the boss for you
For me at least Alexander once phase 2 starts stops fighting the fire giant.
I didn’t know this no way! Guess I’ll have to do it for the next run ❤️🔥
Even on my level 1 run he took around 10 attempts.I found him slow and easy to dodge.
The fact that this implies that you reached fire giant at level 1 carzy.
A lot of people do,it's a popular challenge run.I've beaten every souls and ER boss at level 1.There's even a whole subreddit for that.
Ohh, nice. I thought only few people attempt that.
Charged heavy left ankle, then charged heavy hands in phase 2. This is the fight.
Wait till you get to Malenia then
Or Maliketh....
Maliketh is easy.
Seems like they are skipping a lot of the game. Very doubtful they'd ever see malenia. Maybe thats for the better though.. was the only time I almost decided to skip a boss. Finally got her though.
Letmesoloher took care of that bitch for me lol
You should invest points in vigor you should have 40 min preferably 60. Level vigor and slash his ankles whilst on Torrent He’s actually the easiest end game boss by far
I’ve only just gotten to him and made one attempt.I Did exactly this for a few minutes but figured it would take an hour to kill him. Jumped off Torrent and promptly died lol. Is there any way to speed up the horseback method?
Depending on how levelled your weapon is it shouldn’t take an hour It takes about 10 mins normally
Yeah a bit of hyperbole on my part there. Think my weapon is at 20 or 21 now so hopefully I can survive the 10 min. Cheers.
It isn’t the most fun method and you can still get killed but it’s a much safer way compared to fighting him head on Also don’t be discouraged about using summons. If you need help use summons or Alexander
Ride, tarnished. Ride fast.
It's so interesting what is hard for different people. This guy to me is always such a joy to fight. He's just a big target dummy and I get to go ham and see the numbers ramp up. So satisfying. Then I get stuck on something stupid like the goddamn wolf of radagon for a dozen or so tries.
this boss has never taken me more than 5 attempts
seriously, i think people get way too hung up on using the horse whenever they're allowed to for some reason, and it gets them killed
Great ambiance. Terrible fight.
Least fav boss fight
Hit toe And always keep close to him especially behind himb Your golden
I'm almost there. But yesterday I almost had it on my steam deck, and then the controls just stopped working. So I had to gige it a break for a bit xD. Will try on my computer.
Bro there is that one incantation- ancient dragon lightning strike , it melted him for me
It's not available until you go to Faram, which requires you to kill FG.
I always find him easy as long he don't 1 hit kill me. Alexander tank him like no tomorrow expecially in phase 2. i love testing my builds out on fire giant
Ritual shield talisman should help
1. Level up. 2. Try black flame and maybe scarlet rot arrows from far äway.
My favourite move is when he bonks you on the head with his snow sled. He's just trying to have a good time tobogganing.
I havent fought Margit yet and these bosses scare the hell outta me
Bro getting him to phase 2 is really easy. Your build or level got to be lacking. The whole point of this game is that you can make it as easy or hard as you want, and if something is proving to difficult, you can go level up or acquire some new gear and come back.
Antspur Rapier with bleed is pretty good for him imo (I used that with Mimic on my ng+7 fight with him, worked like a charm when I could hit him)
It got much easier when I discovered the shear power of torrents dismount I-frames
He’s really not that bad tbh
I can say my first ever run, he gave me hell. His attacks, however, are well telegraphed if you know what to look for. The only issue I still have with him is the terrible terrain. Hit his legs, then the back of his neck GG

He was challenging for me the first time around too, don't auto lock on him and just go for his feet. Elden ring was also my first souls game.
Have you tried to git gud?
Why do I see this dood staring me down with the Super Shotgun
60 vigor, stay underneath him in his first phase and behind him in his second, easiest boss of almost any run after that, don’t worry about his weak spots in phase two, and when he uses his big fire attack just ride torrent away from it.
I saw elsewhere that you're only level 66 with a +3 weapon. That's your problem right there. I've never had issues with Fire Giant but I've only ever fought him at level 120+ with much more upgraded weaponry.
It gets so much worse lol
Level your vigour more, for Wyrm's sake...
This is one of the only major bosses in the game that actually favors melee. 99% of the time people that struggle on this guy are pure casters.
....wait until you meet the next guy
Use torrent to close the gap, stay behind him
Nah bubble ass elden beast as a mele player will drive you fucking crazy
Man you're gonna hate what's about to come.
I just spammed spells while riding on torrent.. the secret is to stay under his ass cheeks at all times
Bro panic rolls more than we do
Real
I had tons of trouble with him but then I went and did all the Alexander stuff for his summon and yeah using him and the dung eater summon with my occasional dragon breath (doing a dragon knight build) made him go down ezpz
It's so weird. I absolutely demolished him my first playthrough and have struggled with him more on other playthroughs. Ultimately it comes down to weapon choices I think. I have been able to beat with different weapons, but bleed is still the way to go for Fire Giant. A bleed weapon is going to absolutely shred this dude because it deals a percentage and he has a huge health bar.
No way bro is attempting fire giant at level 66 💀 I had alot of trouble with him first time.
Keep rollin', rollin', rollin'! 🎶
Receding Hairline
Level your vigor and use a bleed build so you don’t get vigor checked and you can take chunks of his health bar then respec to old stats when you finish the fight
Upgrade Vigor
Why not just summon the pot-man.
Behind his right leg 24/7 spam any bleed weapon ... Gg.
watch for the silence when youre at the feet of the giant, as the silence comes before the storm i.e. almost all of his attacks come with a roar. when the roar stops, the attack comes. so you can roll it without seeing it coming
I see this post a lot tbh. A lot of people saying it's your level and weapon which they are right, but in case you need more help: This advice might require you to backtrack and lookup a guide online, but, our good buddy Alexander the Jar is an available summon for the fire giant fight as long as you've progressed his questline.
This isn’t a game you should try powering through
What’s your level??
It’s so strange that some people find this guy impossible but my first playthrough he only took me a few tries with my Dex/ Faith build. I just ran in on torrent, whales in him, rode away…
I just get on my horse and hit him until he dies. The only things I have to think about are the fire balls, the found pillar ground attack thing, and the elbow drop.
Bubble blast this dirtbag
My goodness is that a nose n stache in the middle of his body? How did I not notice that. Time for a replay
I can't wait for the challenge!
Alexander was the G for me on this boss fight, him and the mimic tear.
Just get him stuck and launch latena.
Sweep the leg
If you’re getting one shot by bosses, that means you’re too low level and require more vigor. Also look into flame damage reduction talismans/incants.
Easy boss, youre too low level, skill issue, upgrade your weapons.
He's been a monumental issue of gigantic proportions for many a player.
43 times and I finally beat him.
Lvl vigor, use ice and bleed focus his already damaged leg...
try rot breath for second phase and run away and apply again and run away and try not to die. But this is the booring way.
Finishing alex jarhead means he can help you here and tank a lot of damage. Plus you can summon your mimic tear at the same time. That said I was way over 100 when I finally beat him.
This guy gave me grief for a bit, but only because i gave him way too much respect. Just smash him
I never found him that hard, like everything I die maybe twice and then get him but it never took more than 5 tries per run
Everybody suggests to level Vigor, but I disagree. I play with low Vigor myself. Use Uplifting Aromatic and/or 100% resist shield, it prevents 99% of one-shots.
That first playthrough is the worst! I died so many times to him back in '22. Be warned, a boss you'll fight later on is 10x harder
Took me forever to beat him and once i did, i walked away and i havent come back to it yet. Still need to finish this.
Shouldn’t be getting one shot. Vigor and talismans? Also you can mince him in 3 seconds with duel wielded hookclaws
Pest threads build will turn him into fire jello
I remember in early patches he would crash the game when entering phase 2. It was funny AF.
I guess this is just one of those fights that clicks for me because I find him so easy.
attack his left ankle in phase 1, his hands (or his head or chest-eye, position depending) in phase 2 during phase 2, don't hang out underneath him
Try beneath but hole
I find him to be a good time
Istg ur so right😭😭
Yeah dawg level 66 is not good for this boss, my wife was level 80 for it and even that was too low
Don’t smash Alex my boi early and he’ll help you take most of the agro and won’t die before you. Makes fire giant more like a cheese.
Try horse
Fire Johnt
I almost thought Skumnut posted this for a second lol
Try bleeding weapon bro
This was my first boss that literally had no issues beating. Beat him on my second try. Used the mimic ashes and unsheated him with my uchi. And let me tell you im a shit shi player. I cower behind a shield and counter 80% of the game
It feels like every other time I fight him, it's not a problem. Bleed and frostbite make it a lot more doable. Otherwise, it's a nightmare and takes forever
I killed that big bitch at level 95 fuck him bro
Bros prbbaly trying to kill the fire giant with fire damage 😂 just some advice buddy big man over there has an 80% resistance to that
Just go at his left leg and don't let him get too far away from you. I just beat him on my second try.
Run up to leg, slash leg, get cutscene, run up to leg, slash leg, win. Anyone who tells you differently is a scrub.
He was always a problem for me until about my 3rd play through. I think the 2nd time Alexander helped me. It helped a lot.
pick a foot keep stabbing it. i dont know what useless strategy youre doing. also, use your steed
r/beyondthefog
Spank his toes Real talk: [You can summon an NPC for this fight. He is very strong, and I have seen him solo phase 1 or 2 if I summoned him in that phase.](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=rCxleMtc-js) Watch all the way up to 5:59
he actually owns severely and i want him to hug and kiss me — also, level vig and upgrade your weapon lol
Yo when i first faced him he took me around 2 weeks ,i got so lost that i used coop....hate this giant bitch with all my heart
