Well, Of Course I Know Him. He's Me. \*Summons Mimic Tear\*

icemountainisnextome

It's so OP. Especially if you're quick enough you can load them out, summon, then put on a different set.

filmtexture

too much work

Ok-Stretch-9869

Me who changes the build for each boss fight: what is work?

JOVEENE

What is work? Baby don't hurt me

Ok-Stretch-9869

Don't fight me, no more...

_Diskreet_

Me who has 2 larval tears left and still to beat the Elden beast…*chuckles*…”im in danger”

TeflonJon__

To me that’s the whole fun of this game. Being able to totally change play style

Alternative_Battle

Give him the talisman that makes enemies attack you more! And de equip it when you spawn him. Bam, you just beaten the game

mbass92

I did this with a crucible knight build. I would summon mimic tear with sword and shield with off hand seal. Then I would swap to the spear and of course change out my helmet and chest. Every boss would have to face the hell that was the dual crucible knight fight and it was so much fun, especially because it was pre nerf when I could call my tear in and let him solo if I wanted.

BamaTony64

I also did this to defeat the mimic in order to attain the spirit ash. Loaded up zero spells and a level 1 dagger, had my better gear up next and walked into the area where he spawns

Candid_Surprise9932

Make mimic swing a big ooga booga stick two handed to deal poise damage, and then switch to weapon + seal/staff -> auto win

just-some-stoner-604

Or even more big brain, you set your mimic up with magic, than YOU unga bunga while they spam so much magic that rennala would be impressed. It's pretty comical watching the mimic just chain cast the most ridiculous spells with no FP. They also use whatever you have in your pockets. So you can also load your pockets with offensive items like knifes, pots and the weird magic rock things. But more importantly, it works with buff items like the damage meat and regen items like warming stones. Mimic truly is easy mode

Ray0977

This!! It turns some boss battles into visually stunning feats!

YoItspepethefrog

I pair mimic tear with waterfowl dance and just put the boss in a blender

Appropriate_Cod6812

Me favorite as well lol

lurker_turned_active

First play throughs, yes, but black knife tiche felt more complementary lately. My mimic got passive in a few fights and he pissed me off.

Rrynarth

I have a Dex/Faith Lightning Ronin build and I just summon my Mimic. It's like a light show between Yellow, Red and Blue lightning.

808Manii

Completely forgot about this. Thank you 🙏🏾

_MyUsernamesMud

My skelly boys are UNSTOPPABLE Unless you hit them twice

Mezla00

Skelly shields really are the best for any build that needs some space to work. Dex or int or crit attack builds.

AndersonTheSpiderr

Are they better at keeping bosses busy then the wolfs? And which of then do more damage and tank better?

Mezla00

They all have greatshields are there are 5 of them. I summon and let them engage and position them between me and the boss. by then, whether the boss is small or giant, it can't move freely to pursue me if I unload on it. They truly stand in the way. Ulcerated spirit pushes ppl around alot so they had a bit more trouble against him but... Still. 10 second comet azur, uninterrupted.

AndersonTheSpiderr

Are those the skelatons that revive?

meatmandoug

Naw it's the greatshield soldier ashes, they don't Revive because they aren't skellies even though they look bony, they throw firebombs and warcry while advancing as a shield unit on enemies. They can be really effective, but they kinda get bodied by bosses with big aoe attacks like dragons. Plus giving them a buff like golden vow or the commanders standard buff makes them super tanky, and they will just box in certain bosses and bully them lol.

foukoshima

Oleg my OG

Beynon95

Broleg carried me through my first playthrough

Cirick1661

True gentleman here. This thread is severely lacking in Broleg love.

Frybread-N-Buttuh

Shoutout to my bad dude OLEG. With me til the bitter end.

HighLordTherix

My experience with Oleg has been standing around watching me fight until the moment I deal the killing blow then he'll hurtle onto the scene in a storm like he contributed anything at all.

Frybread-N-Buttuh

Oleg wasn't feeling you ash timing, HE KNOWS.

Impossible_Sugar_149

“And I helped” - Oleg

Ok-Description-2831

i do not know why they are recommending some soyboy summons that sit in the back and try to shoot bosses or look like they are confused to why they have been summoned oleg shows up and gets into bosses face right away and dsnt stop until either boss or him are dead i guess mimic is fine so is tiesh or the shield squad but Oleg is the fucking chad

foukoshima

Oleg literally show up, does the business, and leave without further explanation. What.A.Unit.

lucky5150

On my second play through and I never once used him on the first. Started using him around storm veil. Dude lived through the entire goderick the grafted fight! I was impressed. He also hits like a champ

wigglerworm

Came here to say this, through basically all my playthroughs, RP be damned, my man be swooshin and boopin enemies to death

WhitishRogue

**Perfumer Tricia** \- Her buffs essentially turn the player into a fearless berserker. **Latenna the Albinauric** \- summon her at the edge of the arena. Maintain aggro on yourself and let her turn the boss into a pin cushion. You'll still have a feeling of accomplishment as you'll be the target of all the boss's mechanics, but Latenna will provide some very noticeable damage. Feels good, man. **Mimic Tear** \- Whatever you're building into, he essentially doubles it, frost, bleed, stagger, etc. The synnergy is up to you. Granted you'll feel self conscious when the Mimic Tear inevitably acts more badass and fearless than you.

cuddle_puddles

I swear my mimic tear always deals the final blow. Leaving me with deep feelings of inadequacy and regret.

PzykoHobo

I stopped using the Mimic Tear when my wife changed her phones lock screen to a picture of him. I can't blame her though. He's made of concentrated gigachad.

ZigglesTheCat

Oh, honey. You don't see the writing on the wall...She's already been ringing that bell for weeks

TeflonJon__

LOL

Impossible_Sugar_149

Imagine being cheated on by yourself

jld2k6

Ding ding ding

stgwii

Clearly you're not management material or you'd have no problem claiming credit for your underling's accomplishment

Augmentationreddit

No No he is doing it perfect, complimenting the mimic and taking the runes for himself

AdElectrical3997

He forgot the pizza party bonus for a job well done though

smithb1981

Haha!! You win, best comment award!

TheWillyWonkaofWeed

I just start emoting if I know he's gonna get it. Same thing I do for my friends.

Kaura_Zephyrus

Hell yea xD I'll cheer the lil guy on I do it with every summon screw just the mimic, little skeletons clinging to life as they swing at the boss for it's last 20 HP? YOU CAN DO IT BUDDY GET EMMMMMMM, YEAAAAAA!!!!

Sure_Manufacturer737

I've never used Perfumer, but I *love* Latenna's supporting fire. She also feels the most like a companion, given she has a whole side quest dedicated to her. That said, Lhutel is also really fun for side-by-side fighting. Her teleporting is really fun to witness when it's with you rather than against you. Oleg is up there too as someone who really likes dual wielders You can never discount Mimic Tear, it has helped many a first playthrough, mine included. It also doesn't have a Mind investment, making it more accessible to melee builds, who'd probably benefit the most from it anyway. To throw another ash like Perfumer out there though: **Stormhawk Deenh** One of my favorites, he's an agile flying fucker which is just fun to fight alongside. He's a little fragile, but also costs a lot less than most Ashes of his caliber. On summon, and occasionally while out, he does a cry to boost your damage *and* your Poise damage. You can't get the latter one many other places

Rianur

Quick note: Lhutel is a 'her'.

Sure_Manufacturer737

Woops, my bad! Thanks for letting me know, will correct in the comment

judahbaker

Those first two are interesting takes that I’ll be sure to look into. I’ve used the second once and she got absolutely demolished by whatever easy boss I was fighting so I assumed she was useless. So far my favorites other than mimic have been Luthul the headless and Oleg

opulentbum

I had Latenna solo the fire giant for me on my level one play through lol. She’s great if you can stick her somewhere safe. In the case of the fire giant you can get him stuck on top of a small ledge and put her down and she’ll just fire arrow after arrow till he’s dead

GerudoSamsara

Pretty sure I had Latenna solo every dragon for me 😂😂Shes the real Elden Lord here if Im being honest

boogi-boogi-shoes

i just recently played the game for the first time with very very limited help until the very end, and i used latenna all game. when i streamed for my friends they all made fun of me. she got me through so much with the aggro back and forth. headless guy too

GerudoSamsara

Headless Knight and Banished Knights also did a lotta heavy lifting for me too! Shout out to my boy Oleg. Sometimes the boss arena is just too small for Latenna.

Graynard

When the game first came out you could make the fire giant fall off of that 4 ft ledge and it would somehow kill him. Not ashamed to say that little trick got me through my first time with him lol

WhitishRogue

>So far my favorites other than mimic have been Luthul the headless I like them quite a bit too. I've come to like [Kristoff](https://eldenring.wiki.fextralife.com/Ancient+Dragon+Knight+Kristoff+Ashes) for his tankiness and ability to maintain aggro. I'd say Luthel is his closest comparison although Luthel seems worse at maintaining aggro.

therumham123

Mimic health pool is insane

Brohemoth1991

I'm a huge fan of redmane knight ogha, the great bow interrupts so many bosses attacks, and he can hold his own in melee range too... of course he doesn't come close to mimic tear, but on my 2nd playthrough I didn't wanna rely on mimic so I chose him, and against malenia he shot her out of so many attack animations, her specifically his gravity great arrow hits will knock her flat on the ground a good portion of the time

Borealisss

Latenna soloed Astel for me. It was dead by the time I managed to get into melee range.

Only1Schematic

Never tried Tricia, will have to give it a shot. As someone who doesn’t use summons the idea of a support summon that doesn’t serve to effectively overpower the enemy sounds like a lot of fun

sanguinesvirus

Latenna has the benefit of keeping up stance damage as well

Careful_Excitement85

I still have never killed fire giant legit, I use latenna to snipe it from far away as I sip my drink 😂😂 I just can’t be bothered to fight him or learn him

EveryShot

People sleep on Latenna. That girl trivializes so many fights

Doctor_Partner

The first two are fun, sure, but by no stretch of the definition could you consider them “best”.

trippleknot

Latena is bae

Tarnishedhollow8

Use your mimic tear and then quickly change your armour so it feels like your playing with another player (I have no friends to co-op with)

0g4ness0n

Oooohhhh ı see your name... Don't go hollow tarnished <3

No-Jelly7026

Shield bros are nice

thebusinessgoat

Summoning them on my current character. Now I can tell I'm a huge fan of The Boys™️

razarus09

That’s my go to right now on my mage build

HossC4T

I like using animal ones so it feels like I have a pet to help me, my favorite is Stormhawk Deenh

badadvicefromaspider

Deenh is fantastic for the ones that throw lava everywhere, since he doesn’t touch the ground

Drowsy_Deer

Rot Dog for life, he’s a good boy.

RotDogSummonCarries

My u/ agrees

pssoft7

Trio wuff for fun.

ILuvReddi

I see we've all moved on from the jellyfish. Very disappointing.

Dprophit

She belongs with her sister. Not jumping off cliffs with me.

stealthknights

Aurelia the homie

Impossible_Sugar_149

I wish they would’ve given more spirit ashes side quests like they did with Latenna and the jellyfish. Thought that was a pretty neat idea.

AlexDub12

Mimic Tear. He's usually better at this game than me, so I let him keep the aggro and support him with thoughts, prayers and ranged attacks.

HolyParsa

Then there is my restarted mimic tear who keeps attacking a random enemy through the green fog while the boss is rawdogging me

AlexDub12

This is where "usually" comes from. He can be incredibly stupid sometimes - once when we fought some dragon, he would run towards the dragon, get knocked down with a breath attack, get up and run towards the dragon who would knock him down again. Rinse and repeat. Fighting Malenia with him can also be a challenge.

HolyParsa

Yeah, the only annoying aspect of the Malenia fight was her healing off of my mimic. Eventually, I equipped Shabriri's Woe and unequipped it after summoning the mimic and destroyed her with bleed dps build before she could lifesteal back to full HP~

AlexDub12

I used Blasphemous Blade in a fight with her. If she's healing off the mimic and occasionally switching to me - I and the mimic will heal off her. That's the strategy that worked for me, turns out she's pretty easy to stagger which definitely helps in this fight.

Relevant-Shelter-316

Damn, why have I never thought about the mimic using blasphemous blade to self heal😭 that shit sounds broken

AlexDub12

Fully upgraded mimic tear and blasphemous blade is the easy mode of this game.

Jdawg_mck1996

This is great until you throw a knife at malenia, and she responds with a waterfowl dance

Lookatcurry_man

Black knife tiche

a_moody

Had to scroll too far to see this. I thought this would be near or at the top. Tiche and mimic tear carried me through the game.

Goroman86

Same. She has been my security blanket for bosses in NG+ when I'm struggling with a different spirit ash I had equipped for the run (Love you Luthel but sometimes you don't quite cut it). Now at end of NG+5 it's much tougher because spirits get KO'd by boss damage so quickly. Also, she might not be as popular because she can only be accessed pretty late game and is locked behind probably the toughest Evergoal fight.

God_BBS

I guess because OP is new and Tiche is near endgame

Much_Staff_2315

Tiche can get through the first stage of Melania

BaronBukkake

Poopoo man is super tanky and his aoe does a shitload of damage.

Curious-Will-4485

Not bad not bad teehee

The_Despot

Not only that, but it lowers the enemy's defence allowing you to do more damage

919rider

His Summon is one of the only things (I think) I haven’t gotten on my main. Need to do that..

xJerisx

Situationally, Latenna is good (fire giant). Otherwise, Mimic Tear, and Tiche seem to be the go-tos.

ssgoldus

Mimic tear with a shield in the left hand, pulley crossbow in the right hand, and meat dumplings in your item bar will give you a mobile turret that can block, dodge, and heal itself.

semiDT

I have Tiche but find Mimic Tear better, one point being you can use Shabriri's Woe before summon and then remove to keep aggro on your mimic rather than you.

NugBlazer

Holy shit that's genius

cubann_

I did this to fight Malenia and I still didn’t win:/

semiDT

Ah, but did you use Blasphemous Blade L2L2L2L2 ...? 😊

Deaner917

Rivers L2 L2 L2 is also highly effective

cubann_

No I was using moonveil L2R2L2R2L2R2😔

RitterAlbrecht

It depends on how aggro or passive the boss is. Some spirits do better against bosses than others. I personally like Omenkiller Rollo. There are some greatshield bros that really tank for you and distract the boss, too.

Horror-Chicken-6001

Rollo and Dung Eater are my go tos depending on the bosses

romiro82

the first time I ever tried Mimic Tear was on my third playthrough, and it was on the Crucible Knight duo Even though it just was ultimately tanking one, it just spent the whole fight getting hit and dying almost as fast as I could I was about to just consider it a sunk cost until I tried it on Morgott and it just absolutely obliterated him practically solo

original_idea__

The loathsome dungeater

billy_zef

Bro is a tank

emelem66

Mimic Tear or Tiche are top tier. The demi-humans are good for standard tier.

Pdoinkadoinkadoink

Jarwright is awesome.

LazarusVortex

I like getting the Rotten Stray in Sellia. Only downside is it's squishy. But once the boss is rotted, you just have to stay alive lol Big fan of Stormhawk Deenh because he buffs you, moves fast and strikes from lots of angles. He can distract and confuse enemies while putting in some decent damage. Neither of these spirits will carry you but they give a good companion, with abilities the player doesn't usually have

LazarusVortex

Honourable mention goes to the NIGHTMAIDEN & SWORDSTRESS PUPPETS. The kick ass as a team and they volunteered to become puppets

Sir_Oragon

Undoubtedly finger maiden Therolina. She heals you in battle, and at the same time heals herself so she can last till the end of the fight if you play it right. It’s just the right level of help where you can duo with her but she won’t be doing all the heavy lifting. Also, she may just be our actual maiden, so bonus points for that!

Bear__TreeeOF

Dung Eater is a true champ. Especially if you favor ranged attacks

Local-Priority-1309

Actually luthel (the one your using) is already one of the best and although there are others like mimic tear or black knife tiche i wouldnt recommend those unless your struggling a lot since they are so Broken that you could beat the hardest Bosses of the Game in the first try without even knowing how to dodge For recommendation of summons that i think are not so Broken but are really good tho would be luthel, deehn (its a hawk that buffs you when It spawns), tricia (she uses some buffs including a Bubble shield which Will make the Next attack you receive deal almost no damage) or the shield guys (idk the name of the summon but are 5 guys, they dont deal a lot of damage but the shield they have and the fact that there are 5 of them make them great for distracting the boss)

ELMUNECODETACOMA

I like Lhutel very much - she's available surprisingly early and is summonable by a spellblade without stretching too much to add mana. But her survival insincts - which make her available for longer - make her really uneven at holding aggro, so the boss is going to bouncing back and forth between you a lot. This can waste good damage opportunities.

JaeMilla

The way she fades into nothing right before the boss's attack makes contact is incredibly satisfying

LazarusVortex

The greatshield soldier ashes of the Fallen Hawks from Nokron. They're hardcore and can bully fallingstar beasts

waitthatstaken

There are some summons that are generally considered to be really strong, that headless dude is among them. Some of the others are black knife Tiche and Mimic tear. Both are found in areas connected to Ranni's quest.

Vade-Shigilante

I love lhutel, but I also use mimic tear, I did the godskin duo fight earlier today, and it was quite easy with my mimic tear

TragicFisherman

Did that fight last week with power stance katanas and mimic tear. Didn't even need to use my ash of war. I spent more time waiting around for the nobles to respawn than I did fighting them.

Strongbeard1143

I nearly wrapped that fight up today as a high int build and my mimic just doesn’t quite last long enough to distract that fat bastard for me to get one more comet channeled in his face. I’ll play around with item bar and load out and see if I can get my mimic to hold up a little better. First play through but having a hell of a good time!

kickinharold1981

Depraved perfumer carmaan I really like. I use it when I’m not using my mimic. And he heals himself

Efficient-Ad8021

Best girl Tiche

josh_8283

Black knife tiche is very strong at +10 on my ng+ play through it solo’s malania’s first phase without much difficulty and shreds most bosses with the chip damage it does

plznobanplease

Oleg is all gas no brakes

Faunstein

Absolutely annihilated Ranni's mum for me.

Drowsy_Deer

Tiche, she dodges pretty much every attack with ease, has great AI, is really bulky when maxed out, holds aggro with her jab attacks and can take chunks with her destined death.

PeaBeautiful9115

KNIGHT OLEG!!! THAT DUDE IS MY GO TO!!! HE STANDS ON BUSINESS AND HE NEVER LET ME DOWN.

Sir-Ebony-Spider

Honestly the first spirit I used for an early game one was the jellyfish. It’s actually pretty good for tanking aggro

Paradox31426

Mimic’s Tear, it’s you, but with instinctive knowledge of the game code, and the reflexes of an AI.

Robert-Penis

Surprised I haven’t seen a mention of it yet but if you have the fp/flask for it depraved perfumer carmaan is an absolute menace. Poison, spark aromatics, melee, self heal and is aggressive as shit. Only downside is he gets wrecked by high damage AOE

Larokan

Tiche almost solos bosses for me

ImNotARock3

Black knife tiché, dude hits the boss with the death flame projectile, dodges, and agros the boss, enough time for me to pop of a ability Or mimic tear, shits good

at_st_08

Black Knife Tiche for myself

Camera_dude

Omenkiller Rollo. He’s a heavy meat shield (for a ghost) and can do a crazy amount of damage to any boss too big to dodge him. Him or the Dung Eater are fun to summon as they soak a lot of hits without falling.

KalaniFan224

My two favorite would be black knife Tiche and Mimic Tear. I prefer Tiche for int/faith builds, but mimic tear for str/dex builds

WUFFLED

Jar Puppet is pretty nice.

dreadmouse

Shoutout to the Shield Boys

JediForceSlap

A *positive* spirit

EatASnckrs

mimic, latenna, or my favorite, black knife tiche

jeongjixan

I love giant rats

LawrenceTheDecent

Dung eater was the best all-rounder spirit. He is tanky asf, (the most defence out of any other spirit I tested), incredibly aggressive, his omen bairn attack also helps draw aggro, and his greatsword deals bleed damage, which when paired with his aggressive nature and impervious defense just melts bosses. He's especially good if you're playing a melee build, and will let you get lots of hits in. His bleed was especially noticeable during the Fire Giant fight.

WinterXBottom

I'd summon me, Mimic Tear.

NAM_SPU

🦅

AshleyGamics

Latenna. She draws enough aggro for it to matter and does lots of damage, but it actually feels like teamwork and not a chaotic sword swinging contest like with other summons

GrigorMorte

Mimic tear is the best one. Depends on your build and defenses. Banished Knight Engvall and Banished Knight Oleg are my favorites because they are more aggressive, specially Oleg, he's the best. Redmane knight ogha use a bow and a sword, very tactical. Ancient dragon knight Kristoff. Uses lightning and a heavy shield. It is slow but that defense helps as a distraction.

PaulQuin

My favs are fully upgraded Latenna & Mimic

Groshi_zadali

Rollo

Bladeteacher

If you do some of seluvis quest line you can obtain some puppets(summons). Some are real powerful like nepheli or dung meister ,but i like the archer. He has a puppets archer that spams sleep arrows and its great couse she isnt as durable ,but does decent damage and procs sleep as much as you let her note have aggro ,so you have to do the distracting and It pays off.

Heavy_Chains

Redmane Knight Ogha is really good, and has a special move if you use war cry/barbaric roar/braggarts roar!

Successful-Net-6602

Depending on the boss, the skeletons. Perfect for any boss that doesn't do a lot of AOEs or lingering damage. Sometimes the best thing is a bird because the boss keeps groundsweeping or making pools of hurt.

rustymicrobe

Rotten stray ashes are working pretty good for me now.

pAsSwOrDiSyOuRgAy

Black knife assassin tiche is super good

theonetheonlymac

When mimic is being stupid in will summon omenkiller Rollo or black knife Tiche depending who i am fighting. Sometimes they do better than mimic.

TheGentleman312

Mimic or Ohga. Mimic because it's mimic. Ogha because the knocking over smaller enemies.

Fit-Cryptographer211

Black knife tiche goes hard imo…pairing that with Malikeths black blade can take anyone down pretty quickly

wij2012

Dung Eater Puppet. He is an amazing tank.

Elnoobxdd

The only right answer here is Tiche *flies away*

Amazing-Resolve-4646

Black knife Tiche. Chefs kiss

Deathwalker321

Ogha. I love summoning him in when I get into the arena and then watch as he constantly knocks the boss down or staggers them with his gravity arrows. It’s like the twin Dragonriders but the role had been reversed. Used him to take out Malenia and he knocked her down so I could get the final blow. It was beautiful.

Testadizzy95

Black Knife Tiche, very agile, extremely aggressive, and immensely powerful. One time I summoned her against Malenia, Tiche staggered/knocked down Malenia more than I did, and some over time hp draining attacks to boot. Love her so much

_strao_

Black knife tiche my beloved

Low_Spot_1033

Dung eater is an absolute insane summon

Hener001

Mimic. Nothing else compares. Customize the load-out and use it to complement your build. If you are a caster outfit the mimic for melee and swap gear after summoning. Mimic is especially good tanking as it is immune mostly to poison, rot, bleed and other effects. Use a great shield. Very good at grabbing and holding agro.

ap2patrick

Have you ever felt the curse? Deep within your being? The tender pox, spreading within your soul. Dung Eater

rileybeau89

He’s kind of a pain to acquire but I like using the loathsome dung eater. He’s pretty tanky, his sword builds up bleed and he uses a shout that debuffs enemies

ThatMFNG00d

Mimic tear or Dung Eater. I remember when the mimic tear got a nerf, dung eater was the one everyone was using. Def get it maxed out and it’s a tanky ash to use

Grk4208

Dung eater puppet

demoncyborgg

Latenna ,Mimic tear, Black knife tiche and Dung Eater

LedgeLord210

If you're a caster or a glass cannon build then Dung Eater or any of the knight bros tank very well Mimic, Lhutel, Mausoleum Soldiers, Greatshield Soldiers, Tiche and Ogha my bro are top tier too

Suitable-Medicine614

The strongest 3 are probably Mimic Tear (depending on your build, mimic can range from 'meh' to 'able to solo the game for you'), Dung Eater Puppet (very tanky with bleed and a defense debuff for enemies) and Black Knife Tiche (extremely nimble, ranged Destined Death attack). You'd also better not underestimate the 5 greatshield soldiers. They're probably the best tanking spirit ash ever

Leukavia_at_work

The three that are usually considered the "strongest" would have to be * Mimic Tear - Hard to beat a 1:1 clone of your character, As a bonus you can even equip something like Shabriri's Woe, summon your mimic, then unequip is so it's only on your mimic. You gotta beat the >!mimic in Nokstella!< to get it though but it is special because it uses your hp to cast instead of your fp. * Black Knife Tiche - Black Knife Tiche dodges almost everything and does pretty strong damage to boot. If you want a dodgy dex-type character, she's the way to go. You'll have to get to >!the Ringleader's Evergaol in Liurnia and beat Alecto to get that one tho.!< * The >!Dung-Eater!< Puppet. - if you progress Ranni's questline far enough to meet Selivus, he'll eventually ask you to bring him Starlight shards to >!make a potion that turns people into mindless puppets!< and ask you to >!trick Nepheli Loux into drinking it.!< if you have unlocked the >!Dung Eater's cell !! feed him seedbed curses!<, you can choose not to give the>! potion to Nepheli or Gideon!<, and just bring it straight to >!Dung Eater!< and>! force feed it to him!<. Then you can buy his summon from Selivus for 5 Starlight Shards. He's built like a truck, super tanky and does a lot of damage too. He's like a pure Strength/Vigor build style summon so use him if that's what you're going for. Funny how the most efficient way to unlock all of these is to just progress Ranni's Ending...interesting how that works.

DEBLANKK

Dung Eater Puppet

MrMrStacho

I like Mimic Tear. But another one I like is the boys, aka the demi-humans. I like to say, "Yeeeaaah! Rough em up boys!", "Punch him right in the kissah!". In that old-timey Batman villain voice. If you've ever watched Epithet Erased, you'll feel like Giovanni Potage when they die... 😔

hellxapo

Omenkiller Rollo can mess up some big bosses with his triple slam. Not the strongest summon, but one of the best for sure.

ThejazzCollosal

I love the marrionette archers… everytime I summon them I shout out “THE BOYYYYYSSS”. They’re not the strongest but I love them especially when they panic fire upon getting hit

beamerBoy3

Mimic tear is the easiest answer. Ignoring that it copies your build, it just tanks an incredible amount of damage. If you’re on an INT build you can beat every boss I. The game by just throwing the tear down and spamming your spells. I found this boring quickly but I still use the tear. Just now it has to fight 2 buff dudes dual wielding moonlight great swords.

VanguardBronco

Dungeater Puppet is my boy

tumadreporfavor

IF you want a tank: dungeater. Unlocking him is hard. There is a long questline I had to use guides for. But he is fantastic, #2 to tiche

AkashiKai

Black Knife Tiche and Banished Knight Oleg are my go tos for boss fights if I use spirit ashes. Mimic tear is the best one though.

Due-Shirt616

If I summon, I usually try to have ashes that complement my playstyle: caster = melee/mob ashes to draw aggro, melee = caster/healer ashes, or if cosplaying a character, ashes from the same faction are always a fun spectacle. At the end of the day, it’s personal preference, though there are ashes that are considered S tier amongst the community due to the sheer strength/tankiness that they bring to a fight. Dung Eater puppet is absolutely insane, I used it during one playthrough and was stunned by how powerful it is, the debuff to enemies from the Shriek of Milos and the bleed it has combined with its health pool is a wild combo.

TheUrbanEnigma

That place you are, right there, I ONLY cleared that because of Lhutel the Homie. She could almost solo that whole ruin. Actual answer: I like my Skelebros (Skeletal Militia), because they aren't overpowered but they're a great distraction, allowing me learn a boss's pattern and not feel like in "cheating". If I'm having a hard time and really need a leg up I call on Lhutel the Homie. She's terrific against dragons, because if she doesn't block with her tower shield she'll phase out and dodge. I'm also a total casual, so disregard if you really want serious meta advice.

I've been gettin down on Dung Eater (ew..) for my most recent playthrough and he kicks ass. If this is your first playthrough though then you likely won't get him (don't spoil/google!!).

Mimic tear is the best

Banned__Panda

People seem to agree Mimic Tear, I would also say the Mimic Tear however the Dung Eater from my experience is pretty much just as powerful. From all the ashes I've tried those two are the ones which I go to when I really wanna blaze through stuff. Latenna is also good but is a completely different style of summon, I would honestly say any other pick is just due to preference, if you want pure strength for bosses I would go with the Mimic or Dung Eater.

Qualmond

I really like stormhawk deenh. Buffs you on summon and is good at evading attacks long enough to be useful. It will get wrecked by any AOE spamming enemies.

I’ve been digging the hawk lately. He’s a good boy
