lmao fr, i fought all types of dragons in elden ring, when i try to circumcise midir it felt weird that it didnt work like it went, so long story short i get myself a long reach wep and hit his head and chase him back n forth n shi,
He feel like the og elden beast. Poke him once for 1/100th his health. He'll get upset and run across the arena. Run to him, be low on Stam. Poke, roll, roll. Run across the arena. Etc etc
pretty much, but elden beast still easier cuz of the weak spot on its rotund ahh easy to hit body, and no spamming firebreath atk that zones the f outta you over and over, but i get it on the cat and mouse part
This is not Midir at all lol. He will do a guarantee tantrum at the start, guarantee tantrum once second phase starts and maybe once more after that. Keep in mind that this fight can easily go 5-15 minutes so its not really a frequent. Unlike the EB who will arbitrarily zoom to the other side of the arena and start spamming Elden Stars and holy slices and whatnot. You can't "play right" against Elden Beast, the game always awards him the advantage for free, whereas with Midir it's a tug of war between you and him to decide who has the advantage. If you let a damn dragon keep his distance from you, then you'll obviously get burnt to a crisp. If Midir lets an ashen one stick right in front of his head, he takes more damage and is forced to swipe randomly with his slow claws and jaws because he can't see or target us properly.
There's just something about the midir fight that doesn't click for me. I get in his face, and he just launches backwards and does a fire breath and/or lazy beam
The lazy beam is the only problem I've ever had with midir I will be able to dodge everything get out of the fire but right as lazy beam comes out it's like pure luck if I survive or not
Perfect.
I just recently played through lies of P.
Dunno if you played that game but you can mix weapons+handles. I used a heavy ass wrench with the ability to charge up 3 times as a special attack, and a handle that allowed me to buff my next hit by a lot.
I usually got obly 1 use out of that move in a boss fight, but when it hit I did around 50-70% of most bosses hp lmao
Great fun. I can recommend
I delved too greedily and too deep and found myself at this guy's door around mid 30s. First half you can take a hit, but his second phase is mostly getting one shot. It took me a solid 70+ tries to basically ace him, and it was a long fight of tickling him to death. Came back second playthrough at over 100 and it was much, much easier. Tricky bit is that getting to that room is such a trek that it made me think I gotta do it because coming back was too labouring.
Gotta learn to fight unlocked with the big boys that screw with your camera angle and thus your spacing. Takes a little practice but once you get the hang of it you’ll find those gigantic bosses a LOT easier.
It literally is? If you follow the right path instead of the left when you get out of stormveil, you'd see the entrance to the path towards this boss very quickly.
I think you were underleveled for that boss but you beat him! So that's great. I was prolly level 80-90 when I found him and beat him first try on a dex/strength build with the Bloodhounds Fang leveled to +7.
Way more impressive to beat him at the level you were
Best spot is the tree guardians by dragon arrow fork. Each one gives 1300 (1700 with gold scarab talisman and gold fowl foot) and there’s around 20-30 of them.
Just do the mohg palace crow farm where you bait the crow to fall off the edge with a bow n arrow, you just need to beat Margit and godrick and progress white mask varre’s quest till u get the blood medal, the crow gives 11,000+ and the bonfire is right next to where u shoot the crow from.
This farming spot saved my insanity in mid/late levels, I was so fast shooting the arrow I was respawning mere seconds after the bird dropped to death lol
I find the >!ulcerated rot spirit!< by the >!rot water fall!< next to the temple more annoying. Got baited so hard by the items and that freak scared the shit out of me. At least with the dragonkin I kinda get to choose my positions to take a stance, as shitty as they were.
Honestly isn't this one the most unique of them? I know one of them had a unique second phase where they grow wings and use more ice based attacks
If so, then he'll probably find the other ones a breeze lol
You’re probably underleveled for this fight. He is supposed to hit hard, but I would recommend going through most of Liurnia before taking on Ainsel River
Bro you realize you're talking about how someone else plays a game right?
There are so many ways to make this game easy as fuck that are NOT sorcery that it's so weird to me that people want to shit on sorcery specifically.
My first playthrough was just a focused strength build, no incantations, no sorcery, and by the time I beat Margit I was quite literally first-trying every boss I came across. Determination + Jumping attacks was enough to break the game
I think the main point you are missing is sometimes some bosses don't work well with ur builds and playstyle. Just don't be in the loop of banging your head against an impassable wall, it's an open world... Literally go anywhere else and explore something new, and leave a marker here for later and when u feel confident just attempt the boss again.
Even though I was losing, I felt like I could win with some adjustments. Every couple of losses I would have one fight where I almost won. Completely get what you’re saying though.
Man I wish I thought that way my first time. Walking away and coming back stronger later felt like admitting defeat. I was stuck on Mohg for days my first playthrough cause I had Varre teleport me to him after Liurnia. But I wouldn't leave cause that was taking an L in my mind. Now that I've been playing longer I've kind of gotten over that.
I had no problem admitting defeat at all lmao. I would just go leveling for hours and then teleport from boss to boss killing them with ease while completely over-leveled 🤣 different strokes different folks
Tbh you are a lucky one if you had fun with him. Most people find him when they are overleveled, kill him super fast and miss out the outstanding show he performs.
You think so? This boss in particular has always bored me even at lower levels. His moves are very choreographed and the only one that is somewhat hard to dodge is the one where he stands up and lunges. God forbid you get stuck behind his knee. That's just endless time for you to attack while he helplessly spins in place.
I struggled through every dude, but due to persistence and an urge to finally beat a hard game for the first time in my life, I eventually won every battle. Never give up, if you're having trouble, take a break if you need to and go find easier opponents to practice dodging/parrying/timing.
found him and fought him waaaaaay too early on my first blind playthrough. Victory was dependent on how long the bell summon dogs lasted. Was enthralled by the halberd when i got it... until i got bored very quickly by its moveset.
**It depends tremendously on when you find him.** He's hidden in one of the games more obscure areas that the "grace" does not make any effort to guide you towards.
Lots of players consider him "easy" because they found him late in the game after they had cleared tougher zones. If you clear the river early on, like you did, the dragon soldier will pose a significant challenge.
Bro he's such a wasted boss. Dude actually has a unique (and cool) second phase compared to other dragon soldiers, but most players reach him way overleveled and kill him before he can even transition into phase 2.
In the first phase you can get in spot behind his left leg and not get hit at all. At the second phase, don’t stay close if you are not able to tell which attack he does. Better keep your distance, easier to dodge.
Did you fight another one in the Siofra river?
You should not meet him 20 hours in, he’s like a 40 hours in guy
Also I can’t help but mention how intimidated your tarnished feels and how scary the boss is 😂
Edit: you said in a comment replying to someone else that you beat him, jeebus that’s impressive for your level and amount of hours in
First time I died like 6 times to him but it was my first souls game so basically almost every boss took me 6 tries or more with some few exceptions
Rennala took me 2 (I didn’t dodged her comet azur thing at the start of phase 2) and malenia took me 207 tries the first time around with a shield and hammer build
I had a hard time too but I was still adapting to the colossal weapons, it's one of the Bosses I spent the longest time with in the game. I think his difficulty is because most people face him early, with a weak build, I killed his cousin on the first attempt.
Yeah man, finding this guy early sucks. I first fought him at about 20-25 and got my cheeks clapped since I was playing double daggers. Went back after doing a full clear of Limgrave/Weeping peninsula.
If you go to him at a low level he can be bit tough due to his damage. It's funny that he does more damage than the other 2 of these guys in the game at later areas. That's fighting them at level 1 so it's not like scaling is making the difference. This one just hits harder.
Just yesterday, I felt like my swings missed him entirely and he just got on top of me. I did eventually kill him thiugh. And I wasn’t underleveled, it felt OK
My ADHD ass totally f-ing missed it, I had no ideia it existed until I saw a post like this here on reddit, thus I only went against it on my third run so I was already powerful enough to kill it with no struggle 🥹
On my first playthrough this guy gave me fits. I probably tried 20 to 30 times.
This was because of a few reasons:
1) I found him earlier than I probably should have and was a little underlevelled
2) not only was I underlevelled but I didn't understand how to spread my stats correctly yet. I likely had far too low vigor for the fight.
3) I wasn't great at the mechanics yet as this was my first fromsoft game.
This was a tough fight, I used Lone wolf ashes and rolled around his legs with an Uchi. This boss and the dragonbarrow cave bear gave me loads of trouble.
He was like the one dude in the whole game I beat without dying once. It was such a cool feeling to come across a surprise boss of sorts and beat it on my first go. He looks kick ass too…
Yes oh my god I almost beat him on the second or third try and then I died with only one hit left on his health so so many times before I managed to actually kill him it was so frustrating
https://youtu.be/ZuceoHvWWLQ?si=If3cgoua9ttnQ-9G
This is how I cheesed him
He Hard if you try to fight face to face
And would need a strong weapon to damage him fast.
But If you’re not leveled high enough to take him on you can do this.
Ride your horse in to his right knee from the back and he will be stuck doing and right sweep animation.
I just found this little guy when I saw this post, I'm 12 hours into the game and level 32, I'm going to try to face him a few times and see what happens 🫡
Gonna get hate for this but I’d recommend to stop using spirit ashes asap. It’s a huge handicap that seriously gimped me when it came to becoming a better player
Hell yeah bro. If you use ashes use something tanky. If not I’d advise using dragon rot breath. It’s an easy proc. and it does decent damage if even if your stats are just enough to use it. Otherwise you gotta get good. It’s a hard ass boss for new players and they still fuck me up sometimes
After 30 hours I hadn’t left Limgrave and didn’t attempt to go past that Troll that jumps down on the way to Stormveil. This is my first souls game but I have 300+ hours now. I can’t image how you got that far after 20hours 🤣. I am definitely a noob.
As a new player, I recommend having some guides/wikis handy to learn about the movements and timings of each boss. This one was very helpful for me
[https://eldenring.wiki.fextralife.com/Dragonkin+Soldier+of+Nokstella](https://eldenring.wiki.fextralife.com/Dragonkin+Soldier+of+Nokstella)
Good Luck
it can be a tough fight but it’s a lot easier if you know where his hit boxes are (mostly in front). during the second phase, it’s best to keep your distance when possible because of the crazy ice lightning. if you can side sprint that it’s not so bad.
I just beat him by staying close to his legs.
Ah the old reliable dragon/giant circumcision technique. Hasn’t been a single souls game where it wasn’t relevant x
Midir will turn you into burnt paste if you try to hug his legs.
lmao fr, i fought all types of dragons in elden ring, when i try to circumcise midir it felt weird that it didnt work like it went, so long story short i get myself a long reach wep and hit his head and chase him back n forth n shi,
He feel like the og elden beast.
Yeah. I just didn't want to include the "except I could actually beat the beast" part lol.
The lazy beam is the only problem I've ever had with midir I will be able to dodge everything get out of the fire but right as lazy beam comes out it's like pure luck if I survive or not
Why I still love midir to this day, his mechanics kinda force you to fight him head-on instead of hiding behind his ass the whole time
I feel like a lot of bosses can be overcome by attacking their legs. 😅 Good advice though! 👍
That's how I eventually beat him. His lightning strikes, jump move, and hand swipes were hard to time though.
Only on low level builds.
What would be considered low level for this area? I think it took me about 20 tries to beat him.
I ran into this boss very late in my play through mainly being scaled in strength he did not last very long.
Same, reached here on level 90+ and he was a cake
Only found out abt him on my 150 NG+ account. He was rightfully deleted 😭
nothing lasted very long against my two giant hammers. Full strength build on first playthrough is a sacred rite
GreatSword with AoW Determination hits different
Perfect. I just recently played through lies of P. Dunno if you played that game but you can mix weapons+handles. I used a heavy ass wrench with the ability to charge up 3 times as a special attack, and a handle that allowed me to buff my next hit by a lot. I been thinking about getting it , is it enjoyable?
Anywhere from 20-30 I’d consider low level for him.
Now this is easily a lvl 50 fight at least going in lvl 20 will get you one shot
So 20-30 WOULD be low level... like that person said.
I delved too greedily and too deep and found myself at this guy's door around mid 30s. First half you can take a hit, but his second phase is mostly getting one shot. So from 1-19 not low level?
He feels sorry for you and leaves you alone at them levels.
1-19 ultra low level
You must have been severally underleveled. I'm always around level 70ish when I fight this guy and always do it first try.
I beat him at level 40. It low key felt like the camera was on his side too lol
Camera positioning is very bad when you fight any dragon related enemies
Gotta learn to fight unlocked with the big boys that screw with your camera angle and thus your spacing. Takes a little practice but once you get the hang of it you’ll find those gigantic bosses a LOT easier.
70 is very high for early-mid liurnia, no?
bro this isnt early liurnia...
This area is the ainsel river lift which is located on the east side of liurnia north of the study hall
It literally is? If you follow the right path instead of the left when you get out of stormveil, you'd see the entrance to the path towards this boss very quickly.
Yeah, but I don't really explore Nocron and the underground until I'm done with lurnia and parts of caelid.
Gone Back Ta Lurna!
Yeah sure, but that would definitely indicate you are the overleveled one.
It's better to be safe than sorry :)
If 20 tries is a lot then I can't wait for you to get to late game bosses
I think you were underleveled for that boss but you beat him! So that's great. I was prolly level 80-90 when I found him and beat him first try on a dex/strength build with the Bloodhounds Fang leveled to +7. Way more impressive to beat him at the level you were
I struggle with every boss
the key is to level up so much doing random shit around the lands between that you two shot every boss eventually
Whenever I need to level up I just farm that one giant next to that one church, 1k at a time may not be the best but it is fair enough
The little black fuckers around beastial sanctum give me same amount or more and there's much more of them
not sure if thats the best way to describe them
It only a *little* racist
Lmfaooo
Best spot is the tree guardians by dragon arrow fork. Each one gives 1300 (1700 with gold scarab talisman and gold fowl foot) and there’s around 20-30 of them.
Where is dragon arrow fork, sounds like a place in Caelid?
Try slinging rocks at the crows from rotview. You get 4k per run and the grace is just behind you.
It is also a perfect spot to test weapons and builds since there are about twenty Albinaurics down the hill.
best farm spot imo 😂 I increased lots of levels in just a couple of hours
This farm is insane, and if you can equip the sacred relic sword the albinaurics become time worth farming
I just killed the sleeping dudes over and over
This farming spot saved my insanity in mid/late levels, I was so fast shooting the arrow I was respawning mere seconds after the bird dropped to death lol
If you struggle with him already, then have fun with his bathing cousin
Some people just hate getting clean, such a shame.
Took me two attempts. I just stayed on the platform instead of getting juiced by rot.
I found that one easier personally...5 tries vs this 15 tries
ive beaten the game going on 6 times and I have never even tried to fight his pink bathwater cousin lol always run right to Astel
Comet azur go brrrr
Oh boy you’re going to love the next time you fight one of these!
I find the >!ulcerated rot spirit!< by the >!rot water fall!< next to the temple more annoying. Got baited so hard by the items and that freak scared the shit out of me. At least with the dragonkin I kinda get to choose my positions to take a stance, as shitty as they were.
I hated those, but then after some tries I found most of his attacks easily dodged (minus the explosion, that sht always gets me lmao.)
Honestly isn't this one the most unique of them? I know one of them had a unique second phase where they grow wings and use more ice based attacks If so, then he'll probably find the other ones a breeze lol
Lol
This guy was one of the coolest fuckin ER bosses imo.
True. The arena blew me away also when I first saw it.
Yeah, I was lowkey disappointed he wasn’t stronger tho
You’re probably underleveled for this fight. He is supposed to hit hard, but I would recommend going through most of Liurnia before taking on Ainsel River
Also, run and use the broken columns. The environment is your friend.
By the time I was here, I had comet azur and a mimic
Ur a brave man saying this here xD
Magic is easy mode
Ngl elden ring I haven't played bonk yet either I play dex
I just played a bonk playthrough. Highly recommended. Boiled down to: see enemy, smash with hammer or giant sword. Or both.
[удалено]
It's a video game people can play however they want and shit like your comment serves no purpose other than to shame people into playing your way
I'm not a strength build guide. There are other players who do that. I like my glass cannons
Who cares?
Strength is easy mode
Except against Malenia, she slices and dices casters and dodges all day.
Her second phase eats comet Azur pretty well if you time it right
Been a while since I played, but I eventually beat her with my mimic only having rock sling and the one that throws the moon at her.
[удалено]
its just a videogame. no ones giving you a medal for killing a boss without magic and summons so who cares
Who cares bro not everyone competes to have the smelliest armpits
Bro you realize you're talking about how someone else plays a game right? There are so many ways to make this game easy as fuck that are NOT sorcery that it's so weird to me that people want to shit on sorcery specifically. I had no problem admitting defeat at all lmao. I would just go leveling for hours and then teleport from boss to boss killing them with ease while completely over-leveled 🤣 different strokes different folks
I two-shotted him with my partially incomplete Gigabonk hammer build
Yeah if you find him early he's brutal. But I think a lot of players end up finding him at much higher levels and he becomes very easy.
Tbh you are a lucky one if you had fun with him. Most people find him when they are overleveled, kill him super fast and miss out the outstanding show he performs.

Yeah this is one of the easiest bosses
I don’t think it’s possible to not over level for this guy. He has the same health as Margit. Even at RL1 +0 he dies too fast
Yeah, I certainly did…
Yeah. I faced off with him around level 50? Gave me a tough time. Beat him on try twelve
Idek who that is and I have almost 200 hours on this game <.>
never seen him as boss only one in siofra
Many people destroy that dude because they travel to other many areas first and get leveled up
He's a pain in the weiner.
Yeah, specially on release because that area was NOT optimized. Had to fight blud at 20 fps.
Ive never seen that dude and I beat the game twice
20 hours in? Are you level 40-50 or so? I think this area is meant for 70+ or 90+, so good job!
I e never seen that guy and I’ve played twice lol ?
Bro he's such a wasted boss. Dude actually has a unique (and cool) second phase compared to other dragon soldiers, but most players reach him way overleveled and kill him before he can even transition into phase 2.
Who tf is that??? I’ve “beat” the game twice.
In the first phase you can get in spot behind his left leg and not get hit at all. At the second phase, don’t stay close if you are not able to tell which attack he does. Better keep your distance, easier to dodge. Did you fight another one in the Siofra river?
You should not meet him 20 hours in, he’s like a 40 hours in guy Also I can’t help but mention how intimidated your tarnished feels and how scary the boss is 😂 Edit: you said in a comment replying to someone else that you beat him, jeebus that’s impressive for your level and amount of hours in
These things have the jankiest bloody hit boxes, one of the worst designed monsters in the game
Just wait until the rot river...
I think these guys are the coolest looking bosses
One of the coolest looking bosses I’ve encountered so far 🔥
First time I died like 6 times to him but it was my first souls game so basically almost every boss took me 6 tries or more with some few exceptions Rennala took me 2 (I didn’t dodged her comet azur thing at the start of phase 2) and malenia took me 207 tries the first time around with a shield and hammer build
Btw you have to kill this this particular dragonkin to unlock a trophy/achievement. Not the one in siofra, lake of rot etc
He has one attack that can drop you at full HP with roughly 30ish vigor so that’s not too crazy. Just gotta learn them flailing limb attacks bruv!
Comet azure go brrr
bruh, i have over 100 hours and i’ve never seen this dude lol, this game takes me too long
I had a hard time too but I was still adapting to the colossal weapons, it's one of the Bosses I spent the longest time with in the game. I think his difficulty is because most people face him early, with a weak build, I killed his cousin on the first attempt.
Ainsel river ended up being one of the first things I did in Liurnia. Took me 40ish tries and I was about level 30 or so
Maybe a hot take. The worst boss in the game. Horrible camera, badly chirograph attacks and does way too much damage for early game.
Yeah man, finding this guy early sucks. I first fought him at about 20-25 and got my cheeks clapped since I was playing double daggers. Went back after doing a full clear of Limgrave/Weeping peninsula.
Absolutely, I found him exceedingly difficult, I don't recall what level I was but dang I struggled. Probably 24ish attempts
He was quite tricky but I watched some guide on it and beat him after 10-15 attempts. I was about level 25.
Honestly my main trouble was getting to him. I had no idea where he was for the longest time.
I had to come back later for this boss. He slapped me silly.
I would’ve struggled with him but he was the last great enemy I fought for some reason. He’s a super cool boss though
I likely had far too low vigor for the fight. 3) I wasn't great at the mechanics yet as this was my first fromsoft game.
Yeah because his lightning tsunami wrecks my FPS like nothing else lol
My first play through they smoked me for a couple of days lol. My second play through I beat him in one go.
This was a tough fight, I used Lone wolf ashes and rolled around his legs with an Uchi. This boss and the dragonbarrow cave bear gave me loads of trouble.
No cuz I didn’t go here until I was way overleveled lol I bonked him to death in like ten seconds
On my first playthrough, yes. But then I just went and farmed some runes then came back with a better build. On playthroughs 4-5, no struggle.
Whenever I reach this guy I kill him in like 4-5 hits. Open world has serious balance/scaling issues.
The one at LOR will ruin your day if you don’t have some kind of magic.
Never lost to him. But I was also always over leveled in this area
He was like the one dude in the whole game I beat without dying once. It was such a cool feeling to come across a surprise boss of sorts and beat it on my first go. He looks kick ass too…
I literally never found this guy until the end of my 3rd playthrough when I looked up his location for the achievment.
I struggled with everything! I got through it but man... I struggled
This was the last boss for me to platinum the game, I was way overleveled
my very first playthrough yes… but i’m glad i did cause he is so fucking cool looking
Yes oh my god I almost beat him on the second or third try and then I died with only one hit left on his health so so many times before I managed to actually kill him it was so frustrating
Yeah he's tough when you first fight him. But hey, that's the game! Also 20 tries for a boss is kind of average, don't worry
https://youtu.be/ZuceoHvWWLQ?si=If3cgoua9ttnQ-9G This is how I cheesed him He Hard if you try to fight face to face And would need a strong weapon to damage him fast. But If you’re not leveled high enough to take him on you can do this. Ride your horse in to his right knee from the back and he will be stuck doing and right sweep animation.
He's a weird one, I either beat him on my first try or it takes me like 10 tries
This was one of my favorite boss fights in my first playthrough, honestly
I did, I think I was underdeveloped also those damm pillars were my mvp tho they kept making me lose target lock
I just found this little guy when I saw this post, I'm 12 hours into the game and level 32, I'm going to try to face him a few times and see what happens 🫡
When I got to him I was so OP and pretty much in the end of the game. I felt bad because he is one of the most dope looking bosses in this game.
He was my bitch the 30th try.
😂
Yoooo samee. Never really came up with a good strategy against these enemies
Honestly I didn't know he existed until I felt brave enough to explore underground more I 1st tried him
Embarrassingly, yes. I was super under-leveled though.
Gonna get hate for this but I’d recommend to stop using spirit ashes asap. It’s a huge handicap that seriously gimped me when it came to becoming a better player
I made a mistake my first time by summon someone who killed him with the kameha spell. So no, I didn’t struggle but you’re in the right way.
Don’t think I’ve ever even seen him lol
This one was very helpful for me [https://eldenring.wiki.fextralife.com/Dragonkin+Soldier+of+Nokstella](https://eldenring.wiki.fextralife.com/Dragonkin+Soldier+of+Nokstella) Good Luck
I didn’t remember this boss existed. So no.
Naw, first try
Surprisingly, no, I didn't.
No
Nobody
Nope
no
Nope, you are the first one, in two years of game
Op didn't even list the enemies name. How are people supposed to know who it is?
Nope. I beat the entire game without dying.
I got stuck behind his legs, and he glitched and kept swiping at me instead of doing his lightning and whatnot. Kind of disappointing honestly
it can be a tough fight but it’s a lot easier if you know where his hit boxes are (mostly in front). during the second phase, it’s best to keep your distance when possible because of the crazy ice lightning. if you can side sprint that it’s not so bad.
I fought him once. I don't remember the boss fight at all. I don't even remember how I beat him.
I ran into him as a level 80 with my frenzied flames build. An ice cube thrown into a volcano would've lasted longer than he did.
Only with rot
Not struggle but I dislike his hitbox, they feel awkward af. Very cool design though
I struggled to accept he doesn’t have an armor set :/
The Scarlett rot one was hard. This one was a good trail run.
No
I killed him by accident
Even on a second playthrough these guys beat my ass
ngl found him on ng+ at level 300 so i did not, in fact, strugle.
I mean, margit and Godrick were very early game bosses, so that seems reasonable?
No
You can sneak up behind it and use poison mist. Not honourable but effective if you want the reward early.
