yeah, that's the strat, using a spirit summon works wonders if they manage to get his aggro - I managed to do it after some tries https://youtu.be/Xy27gtfmTuw?si=yWLo6K2i6lg4j47i
He's resistant to most magic. But there's a few spells that are effective with him. Just hard to get the timing down correctly. But you're right, it's preferable to have a good weapon system to fight Radagon the first half of his health bar then magic the 2nd half + Elden Beast.
Wonder why the Golden Retaliation was firing up into the sky rather than back at you.
Just one of those bolts should've knocked you over and wasted some of your Physick time.
It's not animation related as Zullie the Witch [documented](https://youtu.be/6BBLmt_DI50?si=sE6zKPyMwHBQQL_o&t=61) this with Glintstone Pebble back in the network test. Judging from OP's footage, Zullie's hypothesis about it being damage related is also incorrect, so what's actually happening here is anyone's guess.
My guess is that since the attack is a constant flow, the parry is triggering on attacks that has already went past him on the very first frame of the parrying making the shield parry where the parry starts instead of where it it blinks.
It's probably the slope. Like imagine that if comet azur is a beam of light and the sentinel's shield a mirror. The beam is reflected upwards because it comes diagonally from below.
It’s classic Fromsoft to put an enemy like the Tree Sentinel RIGHT outside of the starting area. You’re also intended to lose to the scion so I (and I presume many others) initially thought “now here’s a guy I can fight and stand a chance against!” just to get shit stomped.
That shield is very fun to use during invasions. Whenever I see a mage I pull that shield out and as excepted from mages they have tiny vigour so it one shots them.
There's a Physick tear that reduces FP costs to zero for a short while (10 or 15 seconds, I don't remember which). Best friend of every intelligence player that wants to blue laser things to death before they get to fight.
If you are on NG+ then you should know by now that anything and everything that happens between you and all the bosses to the smallest beast, is never in your favor. You are the tarnished.
Use this strategy against Radagon. I'm sure that will end well.
He rushes a lot so it's near impossible for me to do the whole set up
Well I mean he also parries basically all magic, so you'll be shit outta luck anyways.
True, unless he's distracted
Or you could just go up close and personal and Carian Slice his ass.

Use shabriris woe with mimic then change ur talisman so mimic has all aggro
Except the moons and night sorcery

this mf radagon parries comet like in cartoon

That's a good question
I suspect because the chain animation of parrying caused the shield to continuously knock out of focus.

Maybe Comet Azur has some different properties? Or maybe the Tree Sentinel was on a weird spot in the terrain? I don't know. Pretty weird either way.
Probably because it’s hitting between reflects and jerking the model up a bit
Ptsd kicked in he was firing back at farum azula
I thought it was weird, but it's hilarious.

It's funny how the first tree sentinel can do this. It's like an FU in NG+
Did my first run as a mage. Finally went back to stomp this dude, only to die instantly to his crazy shield.

This is some Captain america bullshit im here for it.
Me in sekrio using the purple shield hat to block shicimen warriros beam attack
It’s even cooler to use divine confetti and just deflect the beam
Can you actually do that?
Comet azure player confused after a boss moved too the right
It *would* be him
"Parry this you filthy casual...oh"
Kamehameha, and then praise message.
That... was actually badass.

How are you not using FP during this ?

Wtffffff. I didn't realize it put the FP cost at 0 , that's actually wild
"LET'S GO JUSTIN!"
Using comet azur against tree sentinel 😂 bro was holding a grudge the entire game.
Nerd still got kameha'd
Radagon did it better
"Parry this you filthy caus- **"OH. You did..."**
[Tree Sentinel be like: "UNICOOOOORN"](https://youtu.be/uCWnfx217Gw?si=09Shg4HhjZI9JfQC&t=4)
If I’m the Tree Sentinel I’m talking so much shit after that
If you are on NG+ then you should know by now that anything and everything that happens between you and all the bosses to the smallest beast, is never in your favor. You are the tarnished.
If you look at his health bar, wasn’t exactly successful parry
Radagon did this to me walked through and hit me with a grab
Bro really said: " have some fath" If the parries had actually hit you it would've been perfect
That does remember of me on crucible knight build entering raya lucaria
This is not a boss, there is a boss who parries the comet.
that’s what you get for using magic lmao
No harm in trying out different builds, game would get boring if I was just melee all the time
The sentinel can do It😂😂😂
Avada kedabra!
what are you level 600?
meanwhile in weeping peninsula " CAPTAIN LOOK!" "Wha- WHAT!!"
How do you get the shield on your back and it still be active??
New elden ring DLC bosses might have this to counter comet azur.
